Behold the Vripack Rock Explorer Yacht – a luxury cruiser described by its Dutch designer as ‘the SUV of the sea’.

With three guest cabins, a generous master suite and sundeck complete with hot tub, the 25m long vessel is powered by two 1000bhp V12 Caterpillar engines with a top speed of 16 knots and a range of 4800km.

If it’s the SUV of the sea does that mean it’s unsexy, doesn’t take corners well and tends to be a big boxy deathtrap?

maybe it means that it blocks up the entire port at rush hour while letting little mercedes and portia off to school?

You don’t corner in this thing, you move in a straight line and if there’s some land in your way you hire a small army of indigenous people to dig a canal to the other side. And then you forget to pay them.
