National Dairy Council boss Zoe Kavanagh predicts the vegan trend will only last two to three more years

Some vegans might get a bit mad
To hear that their lifestyle’s a fad
According to these
People who sell us cheese
Are they biased? Well maybe a tad

+1 I’m not a vegan but (other than soya) it’s way better for the environment. We may all have to live vegan in a couple decades anyway, if things keep going the way they are.

Also this photo is 70s-tastic. The higher the hair, the closer to God.

“Also this photo is 70s-tastic. The higher the hair, the closer to God.”

        Harsh, but true…

Too expensive? Its too expensive if you are an unimaginative clod.

I’m not a vegan, nor a vegetarian, but I could whip up a tasty vegan meal for buttons.

As for ‘almost vegan’, easier again and a vegetarian dish, simples.

I do like a (tiny) drop of milk in tea and coffee and love butter but I’d say I’d go through a pint of milk a week if even. Having said all that, I am not sure nut milks will ever catch to any great extent on as they are a lot more effort to produce.

Also, what’s with the Stepford wives expression on her?

Is that ‘moloko’ milk from Clockwork Orange that she’s drinking?????

          1. Starina

            a) when did anyone say she had the wrong opinion?
            b) as ian-o said below…she looks like a fine lady but its her expression which has unfortunately been captured by the camera
            c) back in your cage, kitty

You’re a hypocrite. If you broadly agreed with her, you wouldn’t be making personal comments. You think she’s wrong, that’s fair enough, but you’re unable to make an argument without throwing insults. You’re consistent, I’ll give you that.
You follow the crowd, run with the hare and hunt with the hound.

Welcome to Broadsheet – loads of people who think of themselves as liberal, but are anything but. Starina being just one of the more idiotic examples.

          2. Mel

            ‘triggered’ and ‘alt right’ ?
Yes of course, because one must be both of those things, for simply pointing out your hypocrisy.
            Breath-taking lack of self awareness.

          3. Starina

Wait, you called me a “liberal” and a “hypocrite” so I called you “alt-right”. I thought that’s what we were doing. Is that not what we’re doing?

          4. Mel

but I didn’t call you ‘liberal’, you’re anything but, that much is clear. You are a hypocrite however, and you don’t really think for yourself too much. A bien pensant.
            I pity you.

Whats the problem with me describing her expression as ‘moronic’.

It is moronic, she looks like that milk is bottled orgasms.

    Ah come on lads

    Focus on the message

    Or that manky coat

If I was passing remarks like ye there
I’d never see or hear the end ov’ it

    1. Ian-O

If you think I am having a go at her appearance, I’m not really, she is making a very odd expression and while its not relevant, she’s a fine looking lady!

Its the look on her face!

      1. Mel

Nice back pedalling there oh brave one.
The look on her face? She’s smiling for a photo.
        Hypocrite

How’s life on your very own pedestal there Mel? Great view, I’m sure.

The term ‘Vegan’ is music to the ears of carnist and the lazy media on a slow news day. Cow urine causes aquatic dead zones and the flatulence is a greenhouse gas . The animals wouldn’t exist in the numbers they do if it wasn’t for beef and dairy consumption. Which humans don’t need to survive in the first place. Milk consumed by adults causes osteoporosis. Sounds counter intuitive I know, but look it up, https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/is-dairy-good-for-your-bones So Cow are bad for fish, the ozone and bones in adult humans. enjoy your retirement stuck in wheelchair Zoe. Also, was she an extra in Tim Burtons Batman ’89 ?

Veganism is a fad and won’t last, says completely neutral person with no vested interest whatsoever.

  7. Ian-O

You know, long term, she may be right in a round about way. No way can we continue with the herd levels we have, synthetic meat and milk etc. will eventually become the norm as population levels outstrip farm output, no matter how efficient.

Also, I think a green, plankton based foodstuff is the way forward, what could go wrong?

  8. Junkface

Yeah I think Veganism is here to stay. She gives it 2 or 3 years! I guess she doesn’t know many 16 – 30 year olds. It is way more common among that age group, they are very open to veganism. I try to have the odd vegan lunch with vegan friends from work. Its okay, I’ve never been wowed by the tastes though. Sometimes vegan burgers give terrible noisy stomach cramps, they pack lots of nuts into those things, one of the types does not agree with me.
We will all have to cut down on Beef consumption, Cattle farming is doing damage. Mother nature never intended in having Global franchises like McDonalds and Burger King demanding billions of cows, while the earth population heads for 8 Billion.

You mean Edward Barnays American fry? You … do…. know fried food isn’t good for you no matter what time of the day you eat it. Don’t you? You’re not still conditioned by classic American corporate advertising from nineteen fifties Madison Avenue Ad Men , are you ?. Do you think the Irish fry up has its roots in Irish history?, Even though an English/Scottish fry up is practically identical . Does that not strike you as odd? Grow a brain would you. Its the information age, educate yourself. Or keep eating your English fr…sorry ,”good Irish” fry every day and see what age you live too.
