A Limerick A Day

Chickens in a poultry farm in northeast France are suspected of killing a fox who tried to sneak into their coop.

It seems that the chickens in France
Will kill if you give them a chance
So now a poor fox
Will go home in a box
If only he’d known in advance

Chickens are horrid little creatures. They pecked my friend’s dad’s pet crow to death. What a terrible way to die.

Crows make excellent pets. They are extremely intelligent and inquisitive, and quite mischievous, by all accounts.

They’re also vengeful! A college professor in the US used to capture them on campus to ring them. They recognise him now and when he goes outside they raise the alarm and harass him. In an attempt to save his students from this abuse he gets them to wear a mask when catching crows for ringing. The campus crows now harass anyone wearing the mask. They have even taught their young about the dangers of the mask wearer and the young, who have no first hand (wing?) experience of being captured and ringed, harass the mask wearer and sound the alarm when a person wearing the mask is spotted.
