Congratulations, #Ireland! We’ve done it again. Another housing crisis, and we are the second WORST in the world in terms of housing affordability.

At least Canada has the excuse that the Chinese are flooding in and sucking up the market. We have no one to blame but ourselves.

The Times Ireland reports today that those on an average income could afford to buy just 5% of the new homes built in Dublin in 2018. And the research from a group calling itself “Initiative Ireland” believes the average income if €57,200 whereas the CSO really thinks its around €39,500 which would mean even less than 5% could afford a new home.

    Well done FG!
