Raining in Cork

All week I’ve been questioning why the kids in France weren’t at school (I’ve been here on hols, in one of the hottest areas) and it was only today that I discovered that the schools have been closed because of the heatwave.
I know these temps seem high – I was in Bodhrum Turkey in 2008 – it was @ 50C – helicopters were gathering water from the sea and putting out forest fires. No-one on the streets – it was way too hot, not just for the tourists.
