My sincere thanks to the people of Wexford for electing me to the Dail in 2011 and 2016. And equally, my thanks to the people of Ireland South who gave me such support in the recent European Parliament elections – I will treasure that support all the days of my life… pic.twitter.com/Ua2xVSEUKx

In fairness.

The political sillies in Dail Eireann will be glad to see the back of him. He consistently called them out on the absolute poo poo freak show that they all are.
It’s all up to Catherine Murphy now
Any sign of those taxes?
I expect more from leaving standard. Go away and try harder.
Good luck Mick, give them hell in Brussels.
The Dáil is a better place because of Mick and Clare Daly. Catherine Murphy is not a lone voice. Catherine Connolly remains in Dáil Éireann and has certainly made her mark and no doubt will continue to do so. Recently on her social media she showed her support for Mick and Clare in the European elections.
There is no doubt we will miss both Mick and Clare but I’m hopefully they will continue to make a difference as they have done in DE. They both deserve to succeed and I’m delighted with the show of support for them both. I urged my friends to vote for them as I couldn’t – not my area.
I wish them both well.
Catherine Connolly is a real gem. As is Catherine Murphy. I expect Daly and Wallace to do the same as they did here, question everything, persist and stick to their guns.
They will be even more irrelevant over there
Paid more of course for nothing though
If they’re irrelevant, what does that make Shatter, Clouseau, Sullivan and Fitz?
Shatter was a great justice minister
Well said Bebe
I doubt he will secure even a teacup I the EU
He’s was bankrupt unfit for office in the first place.
He wasn’t alone in that case so…Regina Doherty is another one but dont let that sully your blue tinted glasses….lets not forget criminal tax evader Lowry…
qYour silliness is breathtaking. Profoundly awful and scares me about the potential of this country.
Wallace is awful.
Lowry is awful.
There’s no shortage of other political misbehaviour.
Many others are also awful, and bad behaviour of some is no excuse for other bad behaviour.
+1
Wallace is an embarrassment and a disgrace
He looks, talks and sounds like the proverbial gombeen and that’s what he is.
Out in the same area as the Healy Rae gombeens
As distinct from a current and immediate former bankrupt taoiseach with no vision?
How’s John Perry doing?
How’s Mrs. ‘Illegal loan’ Doherty
How’s Fisty Feighan!
Fancy Dinner with McCourt?
All fit for office then?
I just want to wish Billy and Frances good wishes in Europe. Obvs, I would have put this comment under its own article if either of them in fact merited their own article. Sadly, Billy was a workaday politician who never achieved much in policy terms but he was a good electioneer, especially at the 2016 general election. Frances of course is the disgraced former justice minister who was forced to resign over her conduct during the Sgt Maurice McCabe era, her election is testament to the millions FG collects in party funding from the State each year and the FG brand.
Big Frilly Keane fan was Billy
And Frances said I was too tall for conversation
(in reality she doesn’t trust anyone who wasn’t under a party, any party, whip.)
I saw Mick yesterday, driving a van with his face splashed all over it. Gotta love his spirit!
“I always respected the ministers that I was taking a lump off.” Political eloquence in the tradition of Cicero, Demostenes, Desmoulins, Edmund Burke, Churchill, De Gaulle and Fidel Castro. Wishing Mick Wallace the best of standup rows on the floor of the chambre des deputes in Strasbourg. Ne fermez jamais la bouche!
-10,000 country bumpkin voters
This kind of stuff is so shameful
“Worra I put it up to them up in Dublin, amn’t I a great fella”
“ oh you are Mick shurely hup ya boy hon Wexford”
Wallace is an embarrassment and a disgrace
He looks, talks and sounds like the proverbial gombeen and that’s what he is.
Out in the same area as the Healy Rae slimy badgers who recently held a drunken orgy in the Dail chambers and no-one batted an eyelid”
Dis he upset you then? What matter did he bring to the public attention that has you so aerated?
Shatter
Callinan
NAMA
Fitz
Sullivan
If you read the Phoenix Giggidy ( you should) all of those issues already did come into view there first
I find Mick very theatrical and a bluffer really who entered politics specifically to avoid bankruptcy and the second life it awarded him as he was a failed businessman.
Further he simply isn’t effective now as a parliamentary or even a public figure. At first he was like a sort of village idiot along with Ming who RTÉ would roll out for “fake balance”. Now they have dumb unbriefed Shinners or Eamon Ryan to do the same.
