Thought you might be interested in noting the passing of [California-born and Dublin-based since 2005] poet Raven who was well known on the Dublin poetry scene [also a regular at The Leviathan stage at the Electric Picnic]. He passed away while on holiday.
RIP
Meanwhile…
At the M & C Festival fully 10 years ago a band started deafeningly sound checking on another stage just as Raven started his set. W/o missing a literal beat he started freestyling to it. He was kind, and sharp, and a hero to us baby poets just starting out. Devastated he's gone. https://t.co/1xvDlrrT1R

Raven was always full of kind words and tenderness and he was an absolute trickster to his bones, too, a witch. A shocking poet. He took the edge off places. Made them easier with his energy. He was always the one I’d seek out at a session or festival to talk to. I’m so shocked.

Very sad to hear the news of Raven's passing. He was one of the first poets I met when I arrived in Dublin years ago. I have very good memories of good times shared at The Cobblestone, listening to wonderful poets, and the ever-growing Exquisite Corpse at Tongue Box. RIP.

He sounds like a real nice character, Godspeed Raven.
Raven was a striking presence, a unique performer, a complex sensitive artist, a generous and supportive colleague in the weave of production. I’m shocked, sad, impoverished.
Raven, so sad to hear you’ve flown away. Last lovely conversation at the Mud Island Community Garden open day, appreciating such a space to bring people together. May your spirit fly and soar.
