House Speaker Nancy Peolosi tears US President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech last night

Now it’s over to Washington where
Tempers have started to flare
And the Speaker has ripped
Up the President’s script
On the grounds that it’s only hot air

      Agreed

She should have behaved in a manner befitting the event
Whether she likes it or not
The State of the Union address deserved a level of respect and courtesy regardless of the personnel involved.

Is it any wonder the Democratic Party is a shambles
And has no natural leader or even the prospect of someone with leadership qualities

Peolosi’s manners are equivalent to the babble of secondary school’s changing room

She owes the American public an apology

The speech was filled with lies and half truths and directly beforeTrump refused to shake her hand, like the spoiled child he is. I don’t see how that requires an apology.

Trump got rich before he became an elected official.

Pelosi got rich after she became an elected official.

          Go figure…

Insider dealings are illegal. I’m sure if there was even a whiff of impropriety the Republicans would have launched a thousand investigations against her.

Congratulations on your Brand Loyalty. He was being landed with massive fines for Fraud literally as he was being Inaugurated.

I mean, the father of a high-school shooting victim was so incensed by Trump’s lies about gun safety he was removed durung the speech, and Trump gave a Medal of Freedom to the guy who coined the term ‘feminazi’ but yeah, bad manners, Pelosi.

        1. pedeyw

This is how it goes. Right wing people get snowflakey about any perceived bad manners thrown their way and then claim the left have no sense of decorum or humour, or are overly sensitive when the roles are reversed.

And yet here he is heading into four more years…

Lowest unemployment, booming stock-market, manufacturing industry returning to America…

Meanwhile, the Dimms can’t even Caucus…

        1. Nigel

Probably more to do with the rigid top-down lockstep ideological extremism of the GOP, a frankly incredible right-wing propaganda machine, voter supression and gerrymandering.

          1. Stankury

Definyy’right-wing propaganda machine’ – as the MSM hate Trump.

Whay do you mean by ‘voter supression and gerrymandering.’ – As the Dimms try to do over Bernie once more.

Next you’ll be claiming success is racist or sexist or bigoted or … (something).

It’s not that you’re blind. It’s that you refuse to see.

          2. Nigel

If anything the ‘MSM’ go easy on Trump.

By ‘try to do over Bernie’ do you mean ‘not vote for him?’

Don’t know about ‘success’ but Trump is definitely all those things.

          3. Stankury

Avoiding the questions in favour of the slide. Your ‘shill’ training is obvious.

Proof of your claim that Trump is ‘all of those things’

His approval rating in Black America is 42%.

If he’s so racist explain Kanye West. Explain Candice Owens. Explain Ben Carson.

          4. Nigel

Probably the same dynamic whereby an obvious and outspoken misogynist has female supporters and an adulterer who tells constant and obvious lies has devoted Christian supporters. But ‘Trump can’t be racist he has three black supporters!’ is a bit sad, al the same.

          5. Nigel

No, I just don’t believe laughably obvious and stupid lies. I find it just about believable that he has three prominent black supporters because, well, there they are.

You do realise, I hope, that Trump refused to shake hands with Pelosi immediately before his speech?

    1. Stankury

You do realise, I hope, that Pelosi is trying to impeach Trump for doing what the American public elected him to do?

      1. Nigel

He was elected to put pressure on Ukraine to announce a fake investigation into his political opponent?

        1. Stankury

What ‘pressure’? No quid pro quo. The ‘bribery’ charges didn’t make it into impeachment articles.

And yes, Trump was elected to ‘Drain the Swamp’.

Offspring of Biden, Kerry, Pelosi and Romney all got soft ,well-paid jobs in Ukraine. Is that not suspicious to you?

However the favour Trump asked for (on behalf of the US) was help to investigate the infamous ‘Crowdstrike’ server.

You have to wonder why this triggered the Dimms so much the launched the fake impeachment – an then ignored the 18 witnesses they called to testify in the House?

          1. Nigel

Ah, yes, children of powerful politicians getting well-paid jobs. Deplorable. He wasn’t really elected to drain the swap. He was elected because the Republicans view anyone who isn’t them in power as illegitimate.

  2. Papi

I don’t know, the symbolism of it is fairly powerful, given the location and occasion, but it is not awfully mature. She made a bigger boo-boo with the pens for signing the impeachment papers, IMO.

    1. Dhaughton99

The reason there was a delay in sending it to congress was due to the pens not being back from the engravers.
