   that was the setup in my grannys house in east wall as long as i can remember

   As Joxer says you’ll find that set-up in a lot of the older houses around east wall and Crumlin, especially one like this where an elderly person has probably recently died.

   You’ll see that there are no radiators so there is probably an old back boiler system still in place. That would be how the water was heated so a bath, if there was one, would have been in the kitchen.

   There are no upstairs bathrooms in these old houses – there will be a wc thorough the door to the left of the cooker.
