Despite the ring of steel put in place by the Free State and British Security Services, Members and supporters of Anti Imperialist Action Ireland and the Anti Internment Group of Ireland slipped inside the cordon to stage a direct action against the English Royal Visit in Howth.
Beneath the Tricolor a large banner was dropped from Howth Abbey that read, ‘No Royal Visits- Our Mandate Our Republic!
Britain has no right to be in Ireland and its Royal Parasites are not welcome here.

I’m opposed to the idea of monarchy in general. On the subject of ‘Wills and Kate’, I am largely agnostic; I imagine that they are nice enough people in their own way, but would not care especially if they walk up a nice hill or not.
What I am very, very much opposed to is a tiny group of malcontents, who refer to Ireland as the “free state”, claiming to have a mandate to speak on behalf of the people of Ireland. They can protest the British royals until the cows come home, but to claim to have the ‘mandate’ for the ‘republic’ is as offensive as it is stupid.
