Breaking: Croke Park is to become a drive-thru facility for #Covid19ireland testing, following a “high-level request from the HSE and in the national interest”. It will not be a walk-up service. The stadium lay-out has been deemed suitable for facilitating such a service #iestaff

Meanwhile…
Huge thank you to @CrokePark and @dublinbusnews for generously donating 300+ car parking spaces and shuttle bus service for Mater hospital staff during this period. Huge weight off many of us, seriously! Definition of community spirit 💚👏 #COVID19 #CoronaIreland

And Panti Bliss is concerned about his ‘student’ welfare? ..you can afford to pay for all of them Rory – including and ESPECIALLY the staff in Pantibar.
You know she can pay for all them? For a fact? Are you her accountant?
As an aside, my chemist today suggested that we also regularly clean those surfaces we touch a lot in our homes. In particular, door handles, fridge and cupboard handles, banister rails, etc.Car door handles and steering wheels seem like a good idea, too.
The logic is that if you go out, say to the shops, and pick up on your hands something unsavoury (and not necessarily just COVID 19), you come home in the car (now infected) open the hall door (now infected), put our food away (now infected), go up to the bathroom to wash our hands. But now we have left a possible trail of reinfection.
So a quick wipe regularly would be a good idea. I reckon if you managed to get any anti-bac wipes, a quick run with one of them would do the trick, but a soapy damp cloth would also do, but I am open to correction by more knowledgeable about such things.
On a personal note, I have a dry skin condition that affects, amongst other things, the edges of my nostrils. I have become aware of just how much I touch my face. Retraining is hard, but I do understand the need.
Be safe, everyone.
blasted my gaff today, to confess, I do that stuff all the time, I’m known to be OTT at the best of times (I blame property management, one smudge, one hair ..bad review, and now I have developed a super sight, can’t unsee it)
Great suggestion, thanks. Apparently the virus can stay live on surfaces for 2-3 days.
I hope people realise this is an off-site hospital and take note of the “this is not a walk-in service” bit. Wouldn’t put it past there being a queue
Let’s just hope it doesn’t become a case of nominative determinism.
It’s a good idea, efficient testing and results will be important in this crisis, hopefully they are considering many other locations for same drive-thru service.
