I do. Apparently she felt opportunities for promotion were better in SF. Looking at the general quality of SF representatives it’s easy to see her point.

And she was right judging by her position in the party and the parties performance in the last GE.

Meals on Wheels cost €4 a meal / €20 a week. It’s not the same as a ‘food bank’ in fairness and is a service provided in good times or bad.

That said, one comparison that can be made is that it is a “photo op” not too dissimilar to a ‘food bank’ photo op.

    Other than that, carry on.

Sinn Fein finally getting a taste of their own medicine. I’m glad to see it. Sinn Fein hypocrisy should be called out more often…. Doesn’t mean I agree with the delivery of the message by Leo

Your leader was rightly shot (oops) down for trying to bring politics into a crisis where people are dying. Go on answer the question – is the lock down right?

          1. A Person

Elaborate on what? Is the lock down right? Its a real simple question. I asked it yesterday and you failed to reply. Is the govt’s response to the virus right, and would your leader have done anything differently.

          2. NobleLocks

@giggidygoo Your failure to answer this simple question a perfect example of why the majority of people did not vote for the shinners. They cannot be trusted to be honest when even the most basic questions are posed.

          3. A Person

He and the other shinners on here never answer, never. They just hurl from the ditch and moan about everything and everyone. Just like their party. Hurl and moan. Cowards.

          4. Know Man Is An Island

Indeed, much like your failure to explain how the shinners were involved in the QIH scandal and the UVF run people smuggling operation.

          5. GiggidyGoo

Sorry, I missed your question yesterday about the lockdown. Plus I asked you to elaborate on your post above, as the article didn’t mention anything about a lockdown. Your post therefore was a ‘look over there’ one.

But you asked if the lock down in right. Well, if you were following the discussion here since February, I always held that there should have been a lockdown. You and your mateys kick your toys out of your prams anytime I mention the Italian arrivals and the Cheltenham debacle, and no controls on those.

So your own question back at you then – do you agree with not locking down by FG?

          6. GiggidyGoo

            @noblelocks.
            And what’s your explanation for

            – the majority of people not voting for FG
            – the majority of people not voting for FF

            ?

            Not very clever are you?

I’d say they worked right through the night to get that one out. FWIW food banks are an entirely different proposition to meals on wheels and meals for those cocooning.

  4. SOQ

Must admit, I am really looking forward to Leo as Taoiseach and Mary Lou as opposition. There will be more bitchin and goadin from both of them than the smoking area of The George on a Saturday night.

  5. Scundered

Well said Leo, I don’t think she has space for anymore wrinkles of frustration on that brow after that roasting.

Varadkar is playing to the gallery. He could’ve said anything at all in a sufficiently stern tone and his supporters would’ve reacted in much the same way.

  7. GiggidyGoo

I suspected that Enda Kenny had a screw loose after his performances, but didn’t thing it was a requirement to be leader of FG. Obviously it has become so.

The comments here, well above me anyway
Seem to be about a different Thread altogether
or maybe they’re just all same now
    predicable and samie

beige, comments in shades of beige
    That just goes with everything

I suppose that’ll be handy with a rotating Taoiseach arrangement
just copy and paste from one t’ the other
    They’re all beige too
Now that I think about it

is there any craic to be had at all

  9. Dr.Fart

all the pro-Leo comments on twitter about this are based on no knowledge. a lot of people just react on emotion and whim. varadkar knows that, so he knows he doesn’t have to be factual, just has to sound the part. all the flushirts who support him now will regret it soon enough. not that i want that, id prefer to have a well functioning government rather than a “i told you so”, heading into austerity with FG is disheartening. We just had an economic boom that was wasted by them. a recession under them will be awful.
