If the majority of people infected are asymptomatic and most clear it within two weeks- what is the point of contact tracing?

    1. b

to tell people who are asymptomatic that they may now need to isolate as they’ve had contact

if they had of been able to do this rapidly 10 weeks ago it would have been beneficial. to still be doing it now is purely optics.
are they contacting the 86000 people that had their tests cancelled? are they balls

Contact tracing isn’t that big a deal at the moment due to the lockdown and the resulting limited contacts. As we ease the lockdown it becomes more important. We’ll need to be able to quickly contact people who came into contact with the sick, whether their contact was when the sick were asymptomatic or symptomatic.

      1. SOQ

Firstly- the majority being asymptomatic are NOT sick, just infected, as they are with many other viruses- this is no different. And what does contact even mean? It is NOT airborne, only in water droplets from a cough or a sneeze which will reach well beyond 2M in a split second so- where does the 15 minutes come from?

It’s like we are back to the early 80’s with HIV- Project Fear mark II.

I do believe that older people who disapproved of homosexuality back then are reevaluating their position.

Especially if they have been shoved into nursing homes by the gay.

I chose the word sick over infected just because infected sounds worse. Don’t get bogged down in the semantics. Asymptomatic carriers if you prefer.

ReproBertie- a profile which admitted (s)he couldn’t be bothered reading the linked peer reviewed articles on the cancer effects of EMF- while also aggressively arguing that 5G is harmless.

          1. ReproBertie

What’s the issue here? You asked what the point was in testing. I answered. Why are you dragging 5G into it? Specifically me not bothering to watch a video of a guy who you said had had his findings rebuked. I don’t recall you posting peer reviewed studies on EMF causing cancer so you may be mixing me up with someone else. Either way it’s a poor attempt at obfuscation.

          2. SOQ

I am most definitely NOT mixing your username up on this site- just go away please you silly

Wow, I really got under your skin just by answering your question.

So where are the peer reviewed papers showing EMF causes cancer? You might want to pass them on to the US National Library of Medicine.

“Some studies have found a link between EMF exposure and a higher risk of childhood leukemia, but other studies have not. Other studies have not found proof that EMF exposure causes other childhood cancers. Studies in adults did not prove that EMF exposure causes cancer.”

Comments have been deleted under your handle- enough love- you will never make it as a comic.

Go do something else- pretty sure you can afford to.

We have a Taoiseach who’s hair defies science- it does not grow- imagine that?

Unless Matt is handy with the oul scissors of course.

      1. paul

and the stances of the people doing the contact tracing suggest “is he still there? I’m trying to get some actual work done.”

  3. Madam X

Why do we still see this silly boo ? Only good for photo ops . not even a good actor He forgets his lines
