This behaviour is the best possible recruitment tool real racists could dream of. Watch during the summer as their support surges when the population becomes increasingly polarised.

Exactly! They are handing more power over to right wing populists who will love making this their key campaign issue. The modern left is getting dumber and more hysterical. I consider myself Left on almost everything, but this Puritan rage will have terrible effects on Politics and new leadership. [Slow hand clap]

It’s hilarious you guys think the inevitable racist backlash will come over the less celebrated historical facts about a figure repreesented by a statue being discussed and argued over. No, no, that’s much too important and substantial an issue. The backlash will be centred on something like, say, a single episode of a beloved old sitcom being taken down unprompted by some anonymous TV exec, and it will be loud and red-faced and spittle-flecked and monstrously gammony and there will be ranting about the impending fall of all civilisation at the hands of hordes of woke taliban antifa BLM brutes and savages.

hmmm….tidy up those seams, paint it black and you have a piece of art honouring Stanley Kubrick? (Monolith outof 2001 A Space Odyssey)

      I like it

      – also “Odyssey” – one of those spelling bee hard nuts

I presume they’ll be renaming the city and all other things across the city named Hamilton too, if the apparent offence is to be taken seriously like.

I think it’s more the malls and shops that need to be worried. Some of the best dressed rioters… I mean, “peaceful protesters” in history going around these days.

The Right protecting public statues from being torn down by the Left. What a topsy turvey world we find ourselves in.

    1. SOQ

Well that is even worse- it paints the ‘peaceful protesters’ as mindless vandals altogether.

Apparently a bust of a deceased Jamaican born poet had a caustic substance thrown over it , it seems to be becoming tit for tat .
