Then We Take Berlin

at

Saturday brunch.

Berlin D2, Dame Lane, Dublin 2.

Berlin D2’s Jay Bourke said having reviewed the CCTV from the venue he believed the footage did not fully reflect what happened.

Mr Bourke said footage from inside the premises showed that for the majority of the time people were complying with public health guidelines.

He said 51 people had attended a brunch event, which was fully ticketed.

He said Berlin D2 was operating at less than 20% capacity at the time, was “spotlessly clean” and that food was served, temperature checks and details for contact tracing were taken on arrival and social distancing was maintained.

However he said Berlin D2 would stay closed until an internal investigation into the incident is completed.

It’s incredibly cringey and a bit irresponsible but it’s hardly armageddon, if they weren’t doing it here they’d be doing it in someone’s gaff anyway, people calling for the place to be bulldozed need to get a grip.

There were dozens upon dozens of self-incriminating stories on herself’s Insta that were still up the following day, the shenanigans were by no means limited to those 20 seconds that the owner claims, it was all afternoon.
The whole crowd looked like the insufferable hipsters portrayed in Nathan Barley, would rather run a mile than party with them myself, covid or no.

Taking a pounding on their Facebook reviews, should have disabled reviews for a bit, but they don’t seem the brightest in fairness.

England has quite a problem with outdoor raves at the moment- I am surprised there hasn’t been any here yet.

There probably has except the Guards never found out.

There were posts of on r/Ireland about backyard raves in Dublin this weekend. They’re definitely happening. House parties in my neighborhood every weekend.

ah sure maybe you could organise some SOQ?
do some influencing, get Jay Bourke on board to help you make a few greasy quid like?
      lol

Great distraction for the Government on the day that Covid cases rose to 200 a day.

‘Look at these people disobeying our arbitrary rules that allow people to drink in bars’

It must be sickening for family pubs to be still shut down when massive companies are allowed to open their venues for parties like this even though they don’t even have a bar license.

my understanding was that walking disaster is barred from being a director?

how is he running anything beyond a lemonade stand?

the wealthy parents bailing him out again?

Samantha Libreiri failed to ask the obvious question: how a cowboy who has been banned is still at the rodeo.

Busy weekend. 2 stories on the front page and “most read” sections of the Beeb. This and the racist canal.

i dare anyone to look thru their instagram page. its very hard goin, incredibly cringy. having looked thru it i dont at all feel sorry for the pub. they seem like a bunch of self-absorbed, try-hards. Someone i know was at that brunch, and they said by about 3pm they kept turning the music up and up and up until people all were up dancing and goin mad. the pub insitgated it. its what they wanted. so any “we are investigating” talk is nonsense. they knew what they were doin.

great pub. so many good night’s. so hard to be young and full of beans these days. if only the young could have a good time without having to tell the internet about it.
