Probably looks up to the likes of Conor McGregor.

If we were to reduce the voting age then I’d be in favour of 16 year olds being tried and sentenced and jailed as adults.

I’d also make “life” 30-35 years.

Never said he did, but his out of the ring antics are not something kids should look to as something to admire.

Its the parenting in inner city Dublin, anyone who has once lived near a block of dodgy flats will tell you the same story. Alcho’s dragging up chislers

I know but its based on the experience of 4 different times I lived in apartments near these kinds of flats. The local teenage kids vandalize, assault for laughs, steal bikes, it just wears you down until you move, and I have not experienced it outside of Ireland.

I grew up at different stages in Ballybough, Finglas and Ballymun Towers and I, and plenty of those that I grew up with, cause no harm to anybody.
There’s good and bad everywhere, you can’t write off whole areas, and the people in them like that.

Fair enough Bertie, I’m just telling you my experience, but also a lot of my friends who lived in many areas around Dublin city. I thought after the first 2 places I would not experience the same problem, but it happened on the next 2 moves. I lived around Dublin 8 and 2.
Everyone who has has had problems living next to rough flats see a similar problem of alcoholism in the parents, a lot of the times the father has run off and left it all to the mother. It’s a cultural and social problem in Dublin and the sooner we tackle it head on and find out why it happens by investing in Social worker services and better education and Sports facilities for teenagers the better.

I’ve worked with Germans, Spaniards, Russians and French who also lived and worked in Dublin for 1 to 4 years. They all complain about the same problem and how scared it made them feel.

I’m not saying that it was idyllic and I don’t doubt your negative experiences, however, I think your “Alcho’s dragging up chislers” comment was ill informed and unnecessary.

Sorry Bertie, if my language was a bit rough, but having been assaulted by parents like this in front of a Garda and everything at the time, its probably understandable and less PC.

    May the victim RIP

To the perpetrator, I hope they’re strung up, picking on one of the weakest members of a society.
