50 euro fine for not wearing a mask. It is 1,000 euro ($1652) in Melbourne.

€50 is more sensible. Gardaí wouldn’t hesitate to fine someone a small but stinging amount. They’d be unlikely to impose a fine of a thousand, which could leave a family without food for weeks.
Delacaravanio
Surely the Australian fine is $1,000? The Aussies would hardly be setting their fines in euro.
Anyway, there’s so many exemptions I doubt anyone is actually paying the fines other than idiots trying to make a point.
GiggidyGoo
Its $200 for not wearing a mask, and $1682 for breaking lockdown isn’t it?

Top o’ the morning.
And we start with some UK manufacturing news.
Jaguar Land Rover, Britain’s biggest carmaker, has restored two-shift production patterns at its Halewood and Solihull plants, as well as its £1 billion Engine Manufacturing Centre in the Midlands, to meet increasing global demand.
Meanwhile, an additional 700 people are set to join the Tempest programme. By next year, more than 2,500 people will be working on the British-led project – which includes BAE Systems, MBDA, Leonardo and Rolls-Royce – developing a replacement for the Eurofighter Typhoon to help keep the skies above Ireland safe from Bad Vlad.
Marvellous.

What time will you bail out today, in a huff? Will BS have to change an account to ‘One username please’ again, and you get to throw your toys out of the pram.
Pull up the hood on that camping sleeping bag, tuck yourself in until 12:30, and finish off the large fridge pack of beans.
…I’m trusting your idea of what represents a deal hasn’t changed…the EU rollover and give the UK all the benefits of membership with none of the responsibilities…no deal then…
Charger Salmons
Nope.
There’ll be a last minute compromise designed to save face for both sides.
Boris will throw a metaphorical mackerel on the table to keep the French happy and the EU will move even further on state aid than they already have.
