What is that?

A vintage tape echo machine from Dynacord.

Emmet Ó Briain writes:

I’m looking to get this beautiful piece of audio equipment restored.

If anyone knows (of) anyone in the UK or Ireland who repairs valve/vintage audio equipment (or knows someone who might know), let me know!

It powers on and the tape loop plays, just doesn’t amplify or echo…

Anyone?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Etc.

    1. Oh No, it's Devo!

Second for Fixtronix. Cyril is a superb engineer though usually up the walls. That unit will fetch a few quid fully functioning!

A gentleman named ‘Michael’ who worked (maybe still is working there) at Joe O’Neill, Glenamaddy (Now O’Neill Sound Systems, Glenamaddy) is a genius at Dynacord equipment. They were the original importer into Ireland and he serviced all sorts of Dynacord equipment. he might even have the Valves in the store? (EL34 were common :-).)
You could also try Ivan Levingston (you’ll find him on the net) in Enniscorthy who’d be well up on valve musical equipment.

    1. Truth in the News

Mr O’Hara in Glenanaddy should be able to figure out the problem, however EL 34’s
are becoming more expensive than the Dynacord was in its hayday

  2. Dash Rickwood

If you’re Dublin based, NJM Electronics are now working out of X Music in Ballymount. Niall is a genius.
