…oh dear Blighty…looks like back to the Blue Peter solution…remember…the one you agreed earlier…the Teresa May solution…maybe that was the plan all along…you really are slow learners though…

‘Oven ready’ I think they called it. ‘Easiest deal in history’ or somesuch. Now it’s ‘well, we have a deal but the EU won’t agree to it’. Tory logic – more leaks than a welsh allotment.

…where is Broadsheets version of the Grand ‘Ol Duke of York this morning…never took Charger for a quisling…a whinging pom maybe…

Paddy Murphy has warned of an “on slaught” of EU vessells entering Irish waters if Britain closes off to foreign trawlers. And our Naval service is so depleted we havent a hope of stopping it. Britain on the other hand ordered 5 new Naval vessells to protect its waters. EU negotiations on fishing “allow” UK 17% of their own fish;- blatant cheek from EU.

      1. ReproBertie

“our Naval service is so depleted we havent a hope of stopping it.”
We wouldn’t be stopping it. That’s part of being in the EU.

        1. Kate

No, Bert….quotas will be abused….Mr Murphy complaints of two Naval vessells in dock as no staff to man them & the other two on their last legs. We should protest our seas or we could head into a disaster because of overfishing.

If Rudy Giuliani is correct in his claim that a Michigan judge has ordered the forensic audit of 22 Dominion Voting Machines- that is quite big news. If anything untoward is found, a domino effect right through all the states which used them will occur.

It is anyone’s guess as to what happens but if the software provides the function to amend or alter votes, that in itself raises serious questions. Outside of a malfunction which should be corrected by the software house under Change Management procedures, why would you ever need to?

Trump *knows* the election was rigged.

Perhaps he was involved with rigging it (in his favoir) and either Biden beat him anyway, or rigged it too.

Either way, if Trump rigged it he can produce evidence of the fraud (even if that implicates Republicans) and try to stay in power.

        1. V AKA Frilly Keane

          True

They only need to find one lad Voting on his dead mam’s polling card
To be allowed say Voting Fraud

Shur’ look at the state of that Count Centre there the other day
Who’s going to argue that their polling stations are any better

          1. SOQ

As I read it, this is an audit of the voting machines, not the actual count. If there is anomalies found then the assumption would be that such is replicated across all machines until proved otherwise- which could escalate into a serious situation very quickly.

The use of the term ‘forensic’ in an IT context means that folders and files which have been deleted will be rebuilt, likewise any amendments made to databases etc. so they have a timeline of activity for the full 24 hours, or longer.

All they need is find enough evidence to cast doubt on the integrity of the software, which will then act as leverage for a wider investigation. Audits are what the Republicans have been pushing for all along.

          2. Cian

These machines are only used to count the paper ballots.

Have there been any instances where a hand count has produced (substantially) different results?

          3. Cian

“but is this not the county where 6000 votes were proven to have been flipped?”

            Fake news.
If you want to make a bald assertion you need to provide evidence.

        2. goldenbrown

yup Cian, I reckon you might be right

this is exactly the angle I’d started to wonder about myself recently….he’s bonkers but seems far too assured right now for my liking

personally I reckon the whole show around him catching and going down (oh so briefly, lol) with C19 was an utter made-for-TV fabrication so his cabal are well capable of type kind of deception in my view

          the show ain’t over yet

          1. Rosette of Sirius

            Independent?! Don’t make me laugh.

The Thomas More Society is about as independent as any other Christian fundamentalist groups out there when it comes to their political leanings.

          2. SOQ

Yeah fair point- I never looked at them.

Still it begs the question- what is an acceptable level of fraud?

          3. Nigel

That’s not the querstion that comes to mind. The question is how much of this lying and disinformation does it take to undermine a democracy?

          4. Rosette of Sirius

And it’s usually individualistic in nature so their prosecution is indeed bad news for them.

          5. Nigel

Probably matter enough that lying about it on such a scale in order to overturn an election is a grave issue.

    1. scottser

It’ll be a piece of cake for the deep state to ensure a clear audit result in biden’s favour. Trump knows too much about the worldwide pedo ring – the lizards want biden in and that’s that.

      1. f_lawless

Timely piece on the existence of the US Deep State by renowned journalist, Glen Greenwald. And no, not a mention of pedo rings nor lizard people.

        https://greenwald.substack.com/p/after-the-deep-state-sabotaged-his

“After the Deep State Sabotaged His Presidential Bid, Bernie Sanders Mocks Those Who Believe it Exists. ..

..That a Deep State lurks within and over the U.S. Government is now treated in establishment liberal circles as if it is some new right-wing conspiratorial concoction rather than what it is: a long-standing reality recognized long before Trump by political science scholarship, left-wing foreign policy critiques, and mainstream journalism

          1. Fanacht

            Somebody’s triggered.

The next few weeks will not go well for you.

Should be a lot of fun for the rest of us :)

          2. Fanacht

            Here’s another one.

The best part about this show is when it’s over nobody will ever take these idiots seriously ever again.

          3. Nigel

Is there anything in the world more likely to inspire confidence as something called a ‘Trump forensics team?’ Only if it’s directed by General Flynn!

    2. Nigel

Ah yes. They’ve been wrong about everything and provided no evidence to back up their enormous claims so far, but surely THIS.
Thing that did not happen: Trump presenting any evidence of voter fraud.
Thing that did happen: Trump personally contacting officials asking them to overturn the results of the election.
Thing peple furrowing their brows at ‘red flags’ and audits never seemed to notice happening: widespread efforts at voter supression by Republicans.

        1. Nigel

Reublicans gettin mad that the stuff they say outside court isn’t treated as rock-solid truthful and accurate the way it’s spozed to be.

          1. bisted

…does this type of gripping happen every election in the US Nigel…I’m asking you as an insider…at least…you were inside the pram last election…did you ever find those reds under the pram Nigel?

          2. Nigel

No., This is off the scale.

Lots of things were found under the pram. None of it mattered, because it turns out it’s okay if you;re a Republican, and especially okay if you’re Trump.

          3. bisted

…wha…last time you called me a Russia sympathiser and then a Chinese fan and now I’m a Republican/Trump supporter…not sure if I’ve gone up or down in your estimation…I’m definitely not the latter, but, in Trumps defense, at least he didn’t start any new wars…sleepy Joe can carry on where Obama left off…

          4. Nigel

Sorry, didn’t mean to imply that, and while I definitely think you’re Putin-curious I’ve never said nothing to you about China.

Having said that, in Trump’s defense, you were always quick to turn a blind eye to his dronings and bombings.

Anyone watching His Dark Materials on BBC? It’s my not-so-guilty pleasure these days, because I can indulge in my unrequited love for Ruth Wilson l.

    1. Nigel

Slowly working my way through season one – huge fan of the books, really like the series, just weirdly not in the mood for films or TV. But yeah, Ruth Wilson, eh?

      1. millie bobby brownie

        She’s marvellous.

The TV series is brilliant, and she is incredible as Mrs Coulter. I was very excited once I heard she was going to be in it. I’ve been a fan of her since her turn as Jane Eyre on BBC.

    2. Rosette of Sirius

Absolutely adore Philip Pullman and have read all his books. His Dark Materials is a marvelous series of books and while I enjoyed the Golden Compass movie a few years back, the BBC series is a whole different level of awesome.

Now, I have to recommend his latest series – The Secret Commonwealth. The first book starts as a prequel to His Dark Materials and his second, Lyra is a young woman and studying in Oxford – the other side’s Oxford that is. Third in the series is in development.

Now, I have to strongly recommend the new series as audio books on Audible – they’re a special treat. Read by Michael Sheen, they’re wonderfully engaging, entertaining and that fellow can convey a tale…
