Hate To Be A Pane

From top: Johnny Ronan, of Ronan Group Real Estate (RGRE), and Paddy Campbell, of Bewley’s before a window by the artist Jim Fitzpatrick among a number of panels in the Grafton Street café said to be worth about €2m.

This morning/afternoon.

“The works of art are decorative and ornamental, are not part of the building and did not form part of Bewley’s original sale of the premises to Royal Insurance in 1987. The artworks have always remained in the ownership of Bewley’s, and have been protected, maintained and insured by Bewley’s, consistent with such ownership.”

Statement from Bewley’s.

“It is not in Bewley’s gift to transfer ownership either between its group companies, as it has purported to do, or to transfer ownership to the state as Paddy Campbell has so generously indicated are his wishes.”

Statement from Ronan Group Real Estate (RGRE).

Anyone?/FIGHT!

That’s pretty much my game these days Daisy

      No point in pretending otherwise
Bankruptcy – on either side – is where over 80% of my income comes from now
And in fairness it funds all my Pro Bono housing work

So let me share something I’m heard saying all the time between the Examiner’s Office and the Court

Jesus I wish I was as Bankrupt as ….insert usual suspects.

I seem to remember at the time he wasn’t BFFs with NAMA

Developer Johnny Ronan has claimed the National Assets Management Agency destroyed his business.

In a written statement to the banking inquiry, Mr Ronan said he has grave concerns about the operation of the organisation.

            As Bodger might say Theatre

Although there might be some truth behind certain ‘partys’ whining about their particular ‘living allowance’ and what constituted reasonable exceptions and special circumstances

            And what nots

“Jim O’Callaghan asked the Minister for Finance when NAMA will start construction on the Irish Glass Bottle site, Ringsend, Dublin 4, in order to provide much needed social and affordable housing.

I am advised by NAMA that there is a comprehensive process ongoing in order to select an investment partner with the requisite resources, skill and experience to commercially develop the former Glass Bottle site at Poolbeg West SDZ site. This open market process commenced in July 2019 following substantial due diligence by NAMA into the appropriate strategy to enable the commercial development of the site and delivery of housing at the earliest opportunity.’

..looks like Ronan, with this press release prematurely came all over himself again.

“Ronan and his US financial backer Colony Capital will pay “north of €150m” for an 80pc stake, a well-placed source said. Nama will retain a 20pc interest and had set a minimum €125m price for the remaining stake and a partnership to develop the scheme.”

Between this bull and Mícheál’s bailout comments, it’s as if they feel like they’re TOO popular.
Good way to remind everyone what they didn’t like about you over 10 years ago.

I’m pretty certain this guy tarmac’d our drive a good while back.

….i was having a coffee at Les Ambassadeurs at Crillon,Paris one rainy afternoon with a friend.
a loud and emotional irish group were celebrating irelands rugby exploits that day at Stade de France, they ‘bumped’ an elegant and glamorous lady’s table knocking over here drinks, like buffoons while screaming down the phone at their pilot to get ready…
shortly after he stumbled to the bathrooms to powder his nose, i sent over a waiter and my apologies for the boorish drunken antics of of my countryman, she graciously accepted my apologies and inquired if there was anything she could do for me while in Paris…
..she got us a reservation (impossible to get) at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, she was after all the editor of Vogue:)

    i loathed him ever since.

Now I’m not saying he’s a baddie. But he really really looks like a baddie. If he were in a film and the sound were off I’d know he was the baddie.

I would love to hear one of Ireland’s greatest living artists, Jim Fitzpatrick’s comments on this attempted grab by the likes of Johnny Ronan. I reckon he would be none too pleased! Jim Fitzpatricks art work for Bewley’s is superb.

The stained glass windows by Harry Clarke in Bewley’s are amongst his best work too.

That white streak down the black hair is totally natural, like not at all an affection of an overgrown little man child who knew the exact palms to grease. With brylcreem of course. Not corrupt payments, no sirree!
