A Limerick A Day

Downing Street is trying to set up a charity that could cover the costs of the refurbishment of Boris Johnson’s flat

The Prime Minister now reckons that
He would like some work done on his flat
But of course there’s no way
That Johnson will pay
Instead he’ll just pass round a hat

Presumably for such a grace-and-favour apartment, it’s normally the employer (so in this case, the taxpayer) that would pick up the bill?

Not a fan of Boris, but I don’t think its really reasonable to expect him to spend tens of Ks of his own money to do up an apartment that he won’t be living in in a couple of years’ time.

true, but, in that case, it shouldnt be open to the wife direct the refurbishment according to her personal taste

I can see what you mean, but at the same time the people that live there should probably be at least asked to pick from a list of pre-selected colours or whatever.
