A quarter of vegetarian meat substitutes contain insufficient protein, according to Safefood

Some boffins have findings which mean
Vegetarians may lack protein
If their diet includes
Lots of pre-prepared foods

They’re assuming that vegetarians and vegans will only eat meat substitutes. That’s not true.

Nah… they say “people who eat vegetarian meat substitutes”.

This isn’t an judgement of the vegetarian or vegan diet, it is a look at the substitutes used by people.

I don’t know, but I’d imagine, and be happy to be corrected, that a serious vegetarian probably doesn’t eat junk food like those discussed in the article.

The main take away that I got from the piece is that processed food is still processed food, and unhealthy, regardless of whether there is meat in it or not.
That’s what I took away from it anyway.

Well, in that world it is either Real Meat or Fake Meat. There is nothing else.
It is a meat centric view, all you need to know really, keep pushing the same nonsense.
Thanks and Praise for beans, pulses, nuts and so on.
Isn’t it great we are free to make our own informed/misinformed choices without their, “it is for your own good” and “we know what is good for you” advice.
I would be in moderation if I let the words in my head flow out through my fingers right now.
