    Interesting how people will comment about not being interested. If you are not interested then why do you have a need to tell everyone you are not interested?

    Anyways- I am really impressed with The Healthy Debate series- I don’t agree with everyone on it but sure it would be a very boring world if everyone was like me. At least they are trying to do something fresh- although it is a very sad state of affairs when this sort of thing has to be left to a group of volunteers.

    Completely agree with Aishling on Claire Byrne- that woman has a lot to answer for.

      I think it’s important so people reading know that the majority of people think this is ridiculous bull. So I’m not interested either. I “did my research” – by listening to proper scientific experts, not YouTube or Facebook videos.

        Harvard’s Michael Mina- a real expert on rapid antigen testing- has stated that he feels sorry for the people of Ireland because of the tripe they are being fed. He has also offered to be interviewed but quelle surprise- nobody is interested.

      It fascinates me that those who decry our national broadcaster tune in without fail to every current affairs show so they can rage-tweet or post about their outrage. Nincompoops. You have a plethora of alternatives options. Tune in somewhere else!

          That’s how to do it Millie. Don’t like it – don’t watch! But the amount of accounts on Twitter raging about the CB Live show every Monday after watching it from start to finish is hilarious. Do they know this is what the producers want? It’s a show that has a big tabloid night-lite element. As long as viewers are engaging – they really don’t give a toss what you are saying. It’s a tv version of Liveline. I watch for lols!

          The one with the hairdresser lady who had invented the “haircut box”
          The one with the pub setup with Joe Duffy where they were 20 feet from each other.
          The one with the vaccination drive through.
          The one with the lad explaining what he does on his OnlyFans channel.
          The one with the outside the Mater hospital episode

            I really like First Dates Ireland. It can be very uplifting and humanising. Always decent folks wearing their heart on their sleeves and being honest about their vulnerability. It doesn’t attract many trolls either, the few that try and have a go (usually attacking minority groups or migrants) are usually shot down quickly on Twitter. There was one known Youth Defencer who had her backside handed to her recently. Glorious to watch!

        The problem is Claire Byrne and RTE have been misleading the public. Just look at how RTE presented excess deaths recently, this was blatantly misleading. This is causing massive problems to our society and our futures.

            The truth is that if the masses realised that the total deaths in 2020 was in line with previous years they might wake up and realise that covid is not as deadly as RTE are making it out to be.

          The author seems to think that just because the vaccine has been given to millions proves it is not experimental…

          Again what the fupp? The absolute abject stupidity on display there is shocking.

            Should the SpaceX Dragon 2 craft be called the experimental?

            IMO the Covid vaccines *were* experimental. They were rigorously tested in various phases and since they passed the tests they are no longer experimental.

      Their first claim in that list of fact checks is to fact check whether the claim that the vaccine is an “experimental drug” and they then rabbit on about a bunch of tests done to date and approvals received from the authoritative bodies…. and that’s it.
      All the while ignoring the fact these are fast-tracked vaccines like none before, and vaccines that come…

          Yes, but it is the issue of “experimental” that is be questioned / fact checked.

          And it wasn’t fact checked. They are “experimental” vaccines.

        Well, it is true that there is no previous precedent for the speed at which these vaccines were produced. Desperate times though. That is not to say I won’t be rolling up my sleeve when my age group is called- whenever that will be.

        Like Broadsheet, I’ll still be popping in and out of the Journal. You guys take everything so seriously. Although I do think Bodge to be a bit dodge of late.

        A lot of Broadsheeters could do with accepting that sometimes the obvious answer is the right one. The amount of folks getting carried away with cloak and dagger stuff!

        Journalism has deteriorated SO much since the emergence of smartphones and click bait. American journalism is in the toilet right now, with the most honest and competent journalists jumping ship to Substack so they can work without coercion from political powers or shareholders clinging to narratives. Irish & UK journalism is not that far behind, getting lost in opinion and narrative more so than actual reporting and typical, solid groundwork. It seems that core values of journalism have been lost due to this transition from printed journalism to digital. That and TV is dying, so ratings desperation sets in.

    Did the John Hopkins University really confirm what Aisling claims, or, is it the Irish Inquiry and Aisling flying a kite? I can’t find it anywhere other than on the Irish Inquiry.

      She is fairly nuts. I watched a few mins of that video and it was idiotic waffle. This is what happens when the Gluten free brigade go too far, that and alternative medicine is a gateway into the land of magical beliefs, general nuttiness and conspiracy theories. Of course there are people who really cannot eat gluten for medical reasons, but not the whole of Dublin 4!

    It’s a pity that Broadsheet didn’t highlight the excellent interview with Eddie Hobbs that starts at the 31 minute mark. Seems like there are some commenters on here who might really benefit from listening to his perspective with an open mind but never made it that far in to the video.

    It’s clear that Aisling O’Loughlin is off on a steep learning curve trying to make sense of all that is happening. She says so herself. But if you find yourself nit-picking at some of the things she says in order just to scoff or reaffirm a preexisting belief that everyone who’s been sounding the alarm that the general public are being subjected to an unprecedented level of deception must of course be deluded and/or crazy – and therefore should be ignored – the reality is you’re indulging in an intellectual cop-out

      I went into the Aisling piece hoping to get something solid out of it. Even a thread to follow up myself… but I got little to nothing, truth be told.
      I wasn’t intending to nit-pick, but I had to point out the rubbish. That said, I did agree on two points raised, as per below.

    This is a bit of a laugh… I’m about a half hour in.
    Two highlights of what Aisling has said so far…. most of which is pure waffle.

    1. The WHO changed the definition of a “vaccine” – I don’t think they did, but they did change what they mean by ‘herd immunity’.
    Back to the vaccine… Yes, the definition has changed on Merriam Webster.

    2. Theragrippers are new way to deliver meds that is in development by John Hopkins. The delivery, after a scan read of John Hopkins website, can be done using a swab.
    Aisling seems to think that just because this technology exists that it is actually being done to deliver vaccines through PCR tests…. A tech exists, therefore it must be being used on us is the logic.
    Em…. that’s called paranoia, imho.

    If I get the chance to listen further I’ll add more :)

      What’s odd is Aisling seems to think this stuff and the John Hopkins stuff has only been made available to her through the new groups she mingles with on the Web.

        7. The media – this is pretty broad and nothing new. The media isn’t airing enough of the counter narrative to that of the pro-vaccine narrative.
        I can agree with that. I’d like more debate. Proper debate.

        Disclaimer – I’m not convinced that lockdowns was the right thing to do, and would liked to have seen real debate on alternatives. And yes, the Barrington document should have been debated. By that document, I mean the part where it suggests a focus on protecting the vulnerable, instead of locking down everyone, as an alternative.
        Remember this was the position of the WHO prior to COVID19, that lockdowns don’t work and then they u-turned on that. Why?

          Yeah its definitely not a real person- so a combo of AI and rendering. There is a lot of heavy duty processing muscle went into making that. Music is excellent- reminds me of Apex Twins for some reason. Don’t know who made it mind, but they have talent.
