If a stoner took your granny out at a crossroads it wouldn’t prevent her from dancin’ there as they’d be going way less than the recomended speed.

embarassingly behind the times and conservative laws in Ireland. Enforced by a police body akin to a stuffy 1950s catholic dad.

      “Driver tested positive for cannabis”

Do you really think it’s a great idea for people to be driving around impaired?

      1. Micko

Obviously not a good idea for anyone to be driving around of their head on anything.

Problem is, that he could have smoked the previous night and still tested positive for weed. (as far as I know the tests aren’t accurate and we’ve no legal limit for consumption )

We need regulation on cannabis and for it to be treated the same as alcohol. It would make it safer and out of the hands of scumbag criminals.

        Prohibition never works.

I think that the weed kept handy in the coffee cup might have provided Gardaí with the vital clue in this case.

          1. Micko

He could have just been picking up a deal.

Bloody dope for leaving it in a coffee cup though. The bang out of that stuff. ;)

I am all for legalising the ganja but in fairness, nobody should be driving a car stoned off their face. It’s really dangerous

I’d have to say fair play to the guards here

    1. Johnny

Don’t tell me you still believe the guards, what road side ‘stoned’ test was utilized,it’s all a load of boop-boopies as there is none !

      1. Tony

It’s not about believing or not believing anyone and I couldn’t give a toss about Garda tests Johnnyboy.

My only point is that you shouldn’t be driving a car if you’re stoned. It’s dangerous. You could kill someone or yourself.

And I say that as a pro weed person

        1. Johnny

I should not sleep with my friends wife, buts she’s so hot.
Lots things are dangerous,I am…how many road deaths / accidents attributed to weed do you think v alcohol ?

          1. Papi

You’re really the worst ever poster boy for weed, Johnny. Like, I now dislike weed cos of you.

          2. Johnny

The cops here also used the ‘stoned driver’ trope to push back against legislation, its been debunked many, many times.
No states that passed recreational cannabis laws -anyone over 21 can buy it-have seen ANY statistical change in road accidents or deaths, not one state nor have they attempted attribute deaths or accidents to weed-only the irish ruc would try that today.

Johnny, sometimes I think you’re more of a hindrance to the cause than a benefit.

Do you ever think before hitting ‘post’?

  4. Johnny

There are NO reliable tests the guards are lying and should be called out over there reefer madness, duping the gullible irish again to the public it looks like they have a test they don’t it’s all lies, misrepresentation junk science as facts, where the hell is the ministers for nepotism ?
RUC tactics of harassment, illegal stop and searches under false pretexts, lying to the public.
‘But blood or saliva testing for THC intoxication has proven to be iffy at best. Peak levels of THC inside the human body quickly lower after consumption. And THC consumers can also test positive when they haven’t consumed for weeks.‘

Irelands drug laws and their enforcement are a waste of time and money. Really idiotic stuff, so far behind the latest research we have on lots of different drugs and treatments. They really need to update.

Having said that, nobody should drive on drugs or alcohol, it’s dangerous.
