I don’t know a single person who isn’t chomping at the bit to get their vaccine. 100% of them.

also the chitter responses possibly indicate a few post-Conti service issues…

I’m sure it’s all gonna be fine (your information that is)

    1. Ireland had to source its vaccines via the EU.
    2. the EU, in turn, had to source vaccines not only for itself, but for most every other country in the world (including the UK). The EU couldn’t act like the UK and hoover up as many vaccines for its own countr(ies); it needed to supply to poorer countries as well.
    3. the UK, because it had so many covid deaths, was willing to adopt a (relatively) riskier vaccine strategy – remember when we were suspending vaccines on concerns about blood clots? the UK was steaming on ahead; in the end their gamble paid off, but I think that on balance we were correct to air on the side of caution

The EU didn’t source vaccines for the UK, there were huge arguments about that.

Companies in it did, using the UK’s money. The EU itself didn’t manufacture them or order them and sent them to the UK which is what your post implies.

The EU (as in the Commission) really fucked up on vaccines. And for all their sins the UK Gov have pulled that ellement of their response off (probably because it was lead by the NHS, not by the Government).

Anecdotally, my 44 year old sister got her first AZ vaccine on Sunday, she will get her second dose in 12 weeks time, so by the middle of August she will be fully vaccinated.

I (42 years old) am probably due to get my first vaccine, Pfizer more than likely, in the next 2-3 weeks, that will mean my second dose four weeks after that, meaning I am likely to be fully vaccinated within the next seven weeks, 2-3 weeks sooner than my older sister.

Two different approaches, but we are flying through the vaccines now and will have people fully vaccinated quicker than those across the water or north of the border.

don’t take the vaccine! I got mine and I turned green and my toes fell off, just ask Bodger!

No thanks. Gonna wait and see how the court case against the WHO and CDC pans out. There’s no ‘undo’ button for these gene therapies.

      +1
48 year old here. We’re all being told it is “safe”, when no one can say these things are “safe” for at least another couple of years, when the usual stage 4 trial monitoring has elapsed and longer term systemic effects start to become known. The rush to get the stockpiled jabs into younger cohorts before that info. starts to came out is only another sign to be wary. Hold firm. Shur there’ll be more chances for jabs again for next few year’s “variants” when the short-term immunity effects run out anyway. Good times.
