Something Going Around

at

Wuhan Institute of Virology

This afternoon.

About a month before COVID-19 was first reported in Wuhan, China, foreign government contacts told US State Department officials that several workers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology fell ill in mid-November 2019.

The US State Department acknowledged in January 2021 that the…

“…United States government has reason to believe that several researchers inside the WIV became sick in autumn 2019.”

It found that they’d experienced symptoms consistent with both COVID-19 “and common seasonal illness.”

Yesterday the Wall Street Journal, went further said these workers required hospital care  lending further weight to the theory that the coronavirus leaked from a laboratory.

Well, to be fair Trump certainly knew about the storming of the US Capitol and what was in store for its errant members.

    Ah would you stop, please!
Parroting alt right nonsense and licking the scrote of Donald Trump.

This blog is becoming an embarrassment.

What are you on about, look up the story, it’s gone mainstream (but with more to go) and not some alt-anything.

      1. baz

TDS is so damaging that poor lads like DaithiG will never regain the ability to compose themselves again.
Pat Kenny another sad example of the ongoing effect of TDS

What’s more of a derangement, believing what Trump says, or not believing what Trump says?

          1. Nigel

Can’t. He’s poisoned the well. Man was the most powerful politician in the world for four years, has a following that will disregard reality and invent out of thin air and expect to be taken seriously, and often are. Look at you, invoking TDS as if he wasn’t deploying Big Lies about this subject since the pandemic began.

          2. Clampers Outside

“disregard reality”… Maybe not on this topic, but on the matter of disregarding reality, you do have company.

            Two sides, same coin.

            Move on from Trump ffs.

          3. Bitnboxy

While it is certainly true MSM is taking this story seriously and let’s face it, China cannot ever be trusted, the damage done by Trump to American and Western societal cohesion cannot be underestimated. His tactics, which I think are driven more by his own corruption and profound narcissism than a big Machiavellian plan, are to erode people’s faith in expertise, democratic institutions, probity and the creation of imaginary enemies by stoking people’s base instincts. It is tin-pot dictator 101 kind of stuff – it’s easy to rule over a citizenry who don’t know who to believe, where they are being told that they cannot trust anyone and all is not as it seems. The zombification of public debate, based on reactionary half-truths and owning the other side (who you are being constantly told is your enemy) is now the result.

And those aware of this shouldn’t let it get in the way of legitimate paths of inquiry into the source of this pandemic (or any other issues), and move on, rather than drudgibg it up like an excuse to do nothing.

    2. Cui Bono?

      haha alt right???

There’s been many speaking out about this since last year and most are not alt right.

      1. scottser

i’m a dyed-in-the-wool communist and i’ve been spouting on about this before trump got his tiny hands on it.

  2. Clampers Outside

It’s funny watching the like of Vox rewriting / editing last years’ pieces that “debunked” this story as only something conspiracy theorists would pay attention to….. TDS was real :)

Still though, mainstream media is still very slow on this.

  3. D-troll

didnt the WHO have to scrap the investigation report because of info they got from China.

i dont think china purposely let the virus out of the lab. is China too strong to impose repairations to the rest of the world. not sure how many trillions (quintillions?) of USD/EUROs is should

in life generally, whenever this is an event like this, first stop is to resolve it. Finger pointing and investigations will come later. im predicting that china will be found to have leaked it from a lab.

  4. Nigel

If he says he saw it then he must have seen because he cannot tell a lie but because he’s as genius as he is ethical he did the same thing he did with all the evidence of voter fraud in the 2020 election: he didn’t let anyone else see it.

Interesting that we’re suddenly believing US intelligence agencies, though. Maybe they’re only credible on China, but not on Russia…?

      1. ian-oG

Why? Are they not fake news now?

I thought all big media brands are fake news, so there is literally nobody left to trust which is exactly what the likes of Putin and Xi wanted and with their big orange idiot in the Whitehouse that is exactly what they got.

So nobody can be trusted anymore, not Jack Posobiec, not the WSJ, nobody at all.

Which was the aim all along.

Numpties going “la-la-la-la” because Trump said this are acting stupid…

    There’s Biden’s team working on this…

Biden’s director of national intelligence testified (link below) to the US Senate that the intelligence community remained open to the two possibilities that the virus
“emerged naturally from human contact with infected animals or it was a laboratory accident.”

And CIA Director William Burns concurred, adding that “the Chinese leadership has not been fully forthcoming or fully transparent.”
    https://edition.cnn.com/videos/politics/2021/04/14/avril-haines-world-wide-threats-covid-19-transmission-senate-hearing-vpx.cnn

Are Biden, his Director of Intelligence, the CIA and CNN alt-right now Ted? LOL!

    1. Nigel

Certainly they are more trustworthy and credible than Trump or anyone Trump-adjacent, for what that’s worth, but the evidence so far is pretty sketchy, and the intelligence community being open to the possibility and the totalitarian Chinese government being less than forthcoming in and of themselves prove nothing. We’ll wait and see if it improves. Meanwhile, grow up.

      1. Clampers Outside

Blah blah Trump blah blah…. You sound feckin’ ridiculous. He’s gone, good riddance.

Who here needs to grow up, in fairness :)

        1. Nigel

You think people are skeptical of this because of Trump, and not because of the sketchiness of the evidence. If these cases are credibly confirmed, or more proof emerges, then it probably happened. Which will make things… interesting. Until then keep calling people numpties Mr Grown Up.

          1. Clampers Outside

Your first line is answered in the first comment you made here. Yes, some can’t shake Trump.

            Ignore him.

Biden and his team are moving on, you should do the same.

          2. Nigel

Tell you what. You ignore him, but also stop telling other people what to do. I’ll pay attention to him where I think it’s appropriate and inform you when you fall sort of your goal.

Look what happened to Australia when they went alone on seeking deeper investigation into the source of the virus…
    https://amp.smh.com.au/national/australia-paid-a-high-price-for-unsatisfying-report-into-global-tragedy-20210405-p57gke.html

“By becoming the first in the world publicly to call for an independent investigation, Australia made itself a target of the Chinese Communist Party.

We know the price we had to pay – punitive Chinese government sanctions on Australian trade worth over $20 billion a year.”

    1. Cian

Fauci was flat-out asked by GOP Sen. Roger Marshall, a doctor from Kansas, “Do you think it’s possible that COVID-19 arose from a lab accident … in Wuhan, and should it be fully investigated?”

The National Institutes of Health official replied, “That possibility certainly exists, and I am totally in favor of a full investigation of whether that could have happened.”

Fauci is a scientist. He was asked if something was possible. He thinks it is possible. Doesn’t mean he thinks it did happen. He doesn’t say is is probable. Just that it is possible. I’d be surprised if any scientist would answer differently.

  7. John

The fact that Trump was pursuing this theory from the start probably stopped a lot of credible people from pursuing it for fear of being associated with Trump.
