The Aussie Federal Govt. is all over the shop. Not enough vaccines, so they can’t have a proper ad campaign as a lot of the adult population isn’t eligible (as you allude to).
This is all very CCP-ish isn’t it.
No, it is “proportionate”. It is better to lock down a few hundred people now than to let it rip and have to lock down an entire city or country. Sydney is in lockdown, so the Bondi action isn’t that different to the way the rest of Sydney is meant to be living.
The residents of the Melbourne apartments that I saw being interviewed were comfortable taking one for the team. Good on them.

Dude – the fact that you think people should be locked in their homes for any reason is just jaw dropping to me.
Fear will make people swallow anything
Mate – there are lots of people in ICU in Sydney. There is a pandemic. During a storm, I expect people to avoid floods and loghtning. During a pandemic, I expect people to avoid spreading the virus. Pretending it doesn’t exist doesn’t work. Let’s see how Bozo goes next week.
“Strewth” – is only heard on Home and Away. Aussies don’t say that any more, if they ever did. “Geeze” or “bailed up” might be better.
Excellent public health action been taken by the authorities to suppress a killer virus.
