That tweet quoted above is misleading. Vaccinations are ‘not’ mandatory in France, only for healthcare workers.
Perhaps, though the quote does not specify the extent to which it is mandatory so it is actually just as accurate as your position..France IS making vaccines mandatory. That is factually correct. It is healthcare workers only, for now. It is an accurate statement on the face of it but lacks specificity in respect of scope. You cannot assume either that a statement like “France is making vaccines mandatory” automatically implies mandatory for everyone either.
They may as well be making it mandatory for everyone. In France you will need to produce a ‘pass sanitaire’ either on your smart phone QR code, or on paper, starting in August, to prove you have been vax’d, in order to get into a café or drink on a terrace, restaurants, to take a train any distance or plane. For any gathering more than 50 peoples, museums, operas, theaters, to go to a hospital etc, etc. Huge fines for restaurateurs/café owners who will be responsible for enforcing this new policy, on the spot police/gendarme controls and any restaurant/café owner or member of the public who is found in such a place fraudulently are liable to huge fines and even prison sentences. So, let’s not split hairs here!
