If the vaccines were triggering the immune responses as promised- they, like those with natural immunity, would not be infected with a “variant”.

Poorer people are now better protected for a variety of reasons- suck it up.

There is a firm touch of the “When did you stop beating your wife?” to these options.

Where’s the “Because people base decisions on science-based logic and see the anti-vaxx hysteria for what it is” option?

That would be around 90 per cent is my guess.

As with the Trump / climate change denial / Brexit mob so it is with the anti Vax tropes (the artists formerly known as Covid ’tis but the flu) that stupid people can be so sure of themselves

Once again, a story about an event that is SO rare that it LITERALLY made the newspapers.

      Be grand.

I think the uptake in the vaccine is because many people stopped visiting a website called broadsheet dot ie after Bodger got in to bed with one crazy former presidential candidate and her hirsute buddy and their wild interpretation of legal matters.
So many people are no longer exposed to some of the cuckoo anti vax click bait that one would find on said website.

Agreed Bodger has all the credibility of armchair Olympian & mental health expert Piers Morgan (remembering the only sport he excelled in was phone hacking) or the Daily Excrement on Brexit

Agreed there are folk on here who’d have left the house lights on in the North Strand when the Nazi’s were bombing.

Just curious to know is the idea of any conversation that does not agree with ‘the jab is great ‘ not needed or is there room to talk about alternatives (ivermectin) or that injecting our children at least warrants a discussion

I see an Israeli lab are investigating a load of different already existing medicines for treating Covid.

But they won’t release the info of which ones they are testing because of the politics surrounding it.

Some are performing well in lab conditions.

They’re waiting until the data is in and then they’ll release the info apparently.

Can anyone give any background on the “got in to bed with one crazy former presidential candidate and her hirsute buddy and their wild interpretation of legal matters” comment above?

Genuine question – dunno what this refers to but am curious to find out why BS has changed of late.

      1. Mick

Bodger published many articles supportive of Gemma O’D when she was trying to get a nomination for the Presidential election in 2018.

Aha ok thanks Mick. In retrospect I probably should have figured that out myself from the description.

‘curious to find out why BS has changed of late’

The beauty of BS is that it has never peddled received wisdom and irrespective of your views, you can rest assured it isn’t spinning for random PR outfits. For this reason, I don’t believe it has changed at all.

Aww another spacious bit of accommodation in your head. If I could advertise you on Daft, I’d make a fortune.

      1. Bitnboxy

@M That is the equivalent of telling mad auld lad GiggidyGums to sling it off to Grift Media or Gemma O’Doherty’s webpage. BS still tries somewhat to attract different views – even if you and mad auld lad GiggidyGums do not care for this.

        Twits.

I asked on here last week what Bodger’s angle on vaccination is, but no-one replied. It seems to be leaning towards anti-vax.
