This morning.

Brian MacCraith, chairman of the High Level Task Force on COVID19 Vaccination, tweetz:

6.2m vaccine doses administered to date; 89% of adults have received at least 1 dose and 78% of adults fully vaccinated (~60% of total population)…

Meanwhile…

The Health Service Executive has launched its portal for people to list their close contacts.

The link will be sent via text to people when they are notified that they are Covid-19 positive after testing.

The portal began operating today and the HSE said it will enable faster tracing.

When a person is notified that they are Covid-19 positive after testing, the HSE will now send them a text-message link, to a portal, to list their close contacts.

It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that ping.

New HSE portal for people to list close contacts (RTÉ)

Alternatively…

Deplatform that man.

Meanwhile…

Anyone?

It’s a pity because there are probably more Irish people than Portuguese in the Algarve at any one time

Now that they’re near the 80% figure for adults (they once said they’d need), they start rollin out the old “total population” figure for us to get used to. Who does that include exactly – infants since birth?
They’ll be jabbing before birth at this rate, to use up the contracted surplus of Pfizer drugs, if we don’t call a halt to this madness. Kids are not a pharma quota. Leave them be.

This from the lad afraid to share his opinions.

The HSE has provided a portal for me to list close contacts in the event I get infected?

I’m pro-vaccine, pro-lockdowns as necessary, but I do draw the line with submitting the personal details of my contacts into an online portal. I’ll notify them myself if I test positive and they can make their own decisions about making themselves known to the HSE.

I not at all unreasonable about sharing my own info. I’ve installed the Covid tracker app and I’ll update said app if I get sick or have symptoms. I generally don’t mind submitting information on my own health to any government authority – and to my close contacts – in the public interest, but I also believe in the right of others to make that informed decision for themselves.

So if I get sick, I’ll tell all of my recent close contacts myself, and they can make their own informed decision about testing, self-isolation and risk.

Are we contact tracing out of habit at this point?

you can transmit the virus without being sick

just downright ignorant not to tell close contacts when you’ve tested positive yourself, not informing them doesn’t allow them to make an informed decision

can’t believe this has to be explained at this stage

You didn’t read my post, you skimmed and got outraged about the opposite of what I said.

I said I’d tell my close contacts if I got sick.

What I said I wouldn’t do is enter contact information for them onto a portal.

You’re only a ratlicker to Daisy if you disagree with her politically.

The crowds for Harrington’s triumphant return yesterday weren’t ratlickers were they Daisy?

Apparently thousands they say – side by side with no masks.

            What a joke…

At what point will those that are double vaccinated be deemed not enough and we start comparing “booster” vaccine levels with UK, US, EU etc.

Extremely soon I’d imagine, given Israel has already started rolling out its 3rd round of shots to its population. Where they go we’ll undoubtedly follow.

We’ll probably finish up the over 12s by mid-September. We won’t be able to open then of course, despite the entire population being done, because then then it’ll be we can’t open until we’re finished the 3rd round of shots of people.

The goalposts for when we can reopen just keep on moving – from flatten the curve, to just wait till we’ve vaccinated the most vulnerable 20% of the population, to vaccinated 80% of the population, to vaccinated the entire population(whatever it is at present?), to vaccinate the vulnerable a 3rd time, to…

        1. Liam Deliverance

Is the booster, shot 3, the exact same solution as the 1st and 2nd shots?

If the 3rd shot is a different solution and has added Delta cover for example is it then a different vaccine?

If its a different vaccine is it really a booster?

Assuming shots 1 and 2 were rushed to development, testing and production then shot 3 would also be rushed to dev, prod and test – why would we want to keep putting that stuff in our bodies, eventually it will go badly wrong?

And is all of this more than a bit convenient for the manufacturers of the vaccines, or was it designed that way, not to fix outright but partially address the virus and guarantee billions of dollars in sales for the next 5-10 years.

she’s right. I got myocarditis after Pfizer, didn’t have to go to hospital or take medication, just waited it out. totally gone now, and glad to be protected from a virus which is getting more dangerous and is a total risk, rather than very treatable myocarditis.

    1. f_lawless

I honestly hope for your sake that you are fully ok but I think it’s right for me to point out that what you are saying is in contradiction to some dissenting expert voices out there such as Dr Peter McCullough and Dr. Roger Hodkinson. The dangers shouldn’t simply be dismissed Interview clip with Dr. Hodkinson here:

      https://mobile.twitter.com/RealJoelSmalley/status/1405661372470464517

“Myocarditis is never mild – particularly in young males… We don’t know what percentage of the heart muscles will have died in any one attack from myocarditis. The big thing about heart muscle fibres is that they do not regenerate like they do with the kidney and the liver, for example. So you’re stuck with an unknown percentage of the heart muscles having died. We can’t estimate the number and therefore the long-term results are utterly unpredictable. We do know from myocarditis of other causes (before the covid pandemic) that it can present decades later with premature onset of heart failure that otherwise would not have been expected..”

Is this the same Peter McCullough who is currently being sued for misrepresenting his professional credentials? Is it the manic anti-vaxxer who has labelled all vaccines “bio weapons”? And the one who’s Covid-skeptic rubbish has been utterly discredited?

Keeping some dubious company there, mister.

        1. f_lawless

That gets a yawn from me Andrew. If don’t understand how the game works by now, maybe you never will. Gain enough prominence as a dissenting voice against the Covid orthodoxy, then set yourself up for a wave of character assassination attempts, “fact checker” media hit pieces, etc.

That lawsuit sounds particularly weak and doomed to go nowhere as anyone who makes it to the end part of the article you linked to can see. Apparently, it wasn’t actually McCullough who stated that he currently held a position at the Baylor University Medical Center, it was mistakenly reported in various media sources that he still worked there. “Frivolous” and “politically motivated” as his attorney puts it. Indeed.

          1. andrew

That gets a chuckle from me, f_lawless. And, while I fear this will make you bristle, it sounds very, very, very like a, eh, ahem… conspiracy.

Go for a walk, take in the expanse of a blue sky, breathe deeply, maybe climb a tree and try hard to clear your head of these paranoid notions that there’s some big baddie out there trying to destroy your life. There isn’t. I hope you can realise this before your entire existence gets consumed with this utter rubbish you’re committing yourself to. Of all the anti-vaxx Covid-skeptics on here I do get the impression you might be a bit different – a lot more informed and intelligent than the likes of Micko, a lot more sensitive and genuine than the likes of EMatty. I know this will come across as utterly patronising guff and Micko will be on it attacking me again. Who cares. I hope you give it some thought.

      2. Fred

I think it is right only right for me to point out that you are a deep disappointment in this era of disinformation. Do better for yourself and for those that have been boxed into loving you.

      3. Micko

Yup f_lawless, I dunno what you’re playing at there mate.

Quoting those disgraced Doctors. Pfft… amateur hour dude.

You should totally trust and listen to Andrew who is ACTUALLY employed in the pharmaceutical industry and therefor has no reason to lie and would NEVER be interested in perpetuating the current crisis so it stays around forever.

I bet he doesn’t even have shares in the business.

I mean, that industry makes money no matter what right?

        Oh..

        https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/pfizer-stock-price-surpasses-record-1999-high-amid-vaccine-strength-2021-8.

        …right. A “record all-time-high” you say… since 1999 you say… oh my
        .
        .
Anyway, never mind that. Now, while I have your attention, I have a Mr Phillip Morris on line 2 wondering if you like to buy some dodgy fags, sorry “luxury smokables” of the back of a truck.

The kids can’t get enough of em apparently…

        1. Fred

Saw you down the chemists today attempting to disguise yourself with that ball stanked mask you keep banging on about. Quite upset you were when retold about the weekly limit on the Solpedeines and Nurofen+
Didnt hear you decrying big pharmas stock price then did I?
