I’m glad that renowned vaccines expert Ged Hurst took time out of his busy schedule to warn us about Christine Lagarde’s lack of virology credentials.

          1. hmmm

Actually the “third world” called and they’d like their derogatory 20th century nomenclature returned.

In the meantime they don’t need so much mRNA vaccines because Ivermectin has been used in general human medicine within the “developing world” for 35 years.

Just ask India or even the Tokyo Medical Association (for a first world perspective).

But you probably won’t because a cheap, effective, safe treatment for the Coronavirus destroys your narrative and renders the mRNA Emergency Use Authorization null and void.

You got that? Ivermectin makes these experimental vaccines illegal.

          2. Nigel

Thanks for speaking on their behalf, but I do wonder of the prospect of a vaccine which reduces your chances of catching it in the first place and its severity if you do, is better than catching it and then takng a de-worming treatment might or might not alleviate the virus while at the same time it might or might not trash your liver.

          3. hmmm

The anti-parasite drug you demean as a “de-wormer” has saved countless lives for decades.

The experimental vaccines are a failure. Ask Israel, Gibraltar, Iceland etc.

Anybody still insisting on these experimental jabs is either an idiot or a Big Pharma Shill.

            Or both.

          4. Nigel

Yes. From worms and other intestinal parasites. Made by an untrustworthy Big Pharma company, incidientally.

          5. hmmm

And used in safely in human medicine for 35 years.

Who do you always ignore that bit of information?

            Why peddle failing vaccines?

          6. LeftBank

            This is for hmmm.

There is no evidence that ivermectin is efficacious in treating Covid-19. None of the randomised controlled data support the use of ivermectin. The one meta-analysis that people keep trotting out (Bryant et al) has so many methodological flaws it should not have been published and I expect there will be a retraction coming shortly. It is a poor attempt at a meta-analysis based on flawed data.

Those of us working to actually treat these patients would love nothing more than a cheap, effective medical therapy. We were delighted when RECOVERY showed dexamethasone (cheap and readily available) significantly impacted mortality in severe disease.

We have an enormous back-log of work, and most of us want to be doing what we are trained to do, not spend our time on Covid or with regular work interrupted because of Covid. We also work in a system where we base our decisions on evidence. The evidence is vaccines are effective at reducing severe disease. Unfortunately ivermectin (as with hydroxychloroquine before it) does not work. It is possible other drugs may be repurposed to treat Covid. If they are successful in RCTs, great, we will use them. Until we have proper trial data we will continue to recommend vaccination and treating patients as best we can with proven therapies.

          7. hmmm

Brazil, Peru, India and Japan disagree with you.

            Ivermecton works.

Public Health UK now records 65% of COVID deaths in the vaccinated.

So the facts also disagree with you about the vaccines.

          8. LeftBank

No hmmm, the facts do not disagree with me.

Once again, there is no evidence (and in the medical world we use randomised controlled trials and there are none that show any benefit to ivermectin) that ivermectin works. Japan has not recommended its use (unsurprisingly they go by evidence base). A handful of countries are using it off-licence and against the evidence base. Again, if this was an effective treatment we would all be delighted, but it’s not.

In terms of the deaths in the UK, this is exactly what you would expect with a good, but imperfect vaccine as their society has opened up. The facts and the medical evidence are clear on this.

          9. LeftBank

hmmm you clearly do not understand how any of this works.

The absolute and relative number of deaths in the most recent wave of infections in the UK is dramatically reduced compared to previous waves. This is down to vaccination. There will be breakthrough infections, and some people who were vaccinated will die. The more people vaccinated, the fewer die overall, as we have seen in the UK. As the majority of the population there are now vaccinated, a higher proportion of deaths will be among those who have been vaccinated, but the number of deaths is much, much smaller. It really isn’t difficult to understand.

The Tokyo Medical Association is a private company and has no influence over public health policy in Japan. Japan has not adopted the use of ivermectin and linking to random blogs is not the ‘gotcha’ you think it is.

I am neither an idiot nor a shill and I am likely far more qualified to assess and interpret these data than you. That said, I am not going to waste any more of my time on this. Once again, the evidence is clear. Vaccination reduces death rates and serious disease from Covid. Ivermectin has no evidence base to support its use.

Good luck, I genuinely wish you well.

          10. f_lawless

I remember a while back Leftbank was on here saying

“the RECOVERY trial has been a phenomenal success. ”

I challenged that assertion with this comment- never got a response.

            https://www.broadsheet.ie/2021/06/19/sundays-papers-88/#comment-2323572

“A year ago RECOVERY (sponsored by the Wellcome Trust and the Gates Foundation) was mired in scandal when it was exposed for conducting set-up-to-fail trials of hydroxychloroquine. Toxic doses of the drug were being administered to late-stage patients.

            https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/hcq-behe

“(Like the SOLIDARITY trials ran by the WHO) It also used 2400 mg of hydroxychloroquine in the first 24 hours for treatment of already very ill, hospitalized Covid-19 patients, a potentially lethal dose.

(Trial directors) Horby and Landry presented a number of arguments to reassure that the dosages were not toxic, not all of which stood up to further investigation. For example, they suggest that as no extra deaths had occurred in the first couple of days when the dosage was highest this was evidence that the dose was not fatal (see line 284). They ignored the crucial fact that hydroxychloroquine has a particularly long half-life, and cumulative dosing was the more relevant measure.

(French media outlet) FranceSoir concluded from their extremely detailed investigation of RECOVERY that many patients died of toxic overdoses of hydroxychloroquine rather than covid 19.”

The strategy is clear at this point when it comes to drugs/therapies that threaten Big Pharma profits:
            – Assert that the accumulative evidence from all other trials with positive results is sub-standard/ insufficient.
            – Design set-up-to-fail trials and declare them as being the definitive ones

    1. Bodger

I believe the vaccines are dangerous and Klaus and Christine care little for any world other than the new one they are demonically trying to create.

      1. Nigel

Your belief is backed up by stories like that of the illness of Saul Goodman – speculative correlation. Hardly grounds to deny poorer people what us richer folk have benefited from. You’d think that genocidal monsters out to cull the human race would have done it the other way around.

        1. Bodger

Nigel, my belief is based on 15 years of research into these creatures. Read their own words in their own documents and books. They tell you what they are going to do as clearly as Hitler did in Mein Kampf.

          1. Nigel

Fortunately, scientists and doctors created the vaccine, while other scientists and doctors oversaw quality and safety standards, not ‘these creatures.’

          2. tom2

This is the basic new world order conspiracy theory. It’s bonkers and I’m sorry to say it but you are if you have believed this for 15 years.

Although I’m respecting you now for actually being fully open about your beliefs.

          3. Micko

I literally asked was it taken out of context.

But, please continue with your mad attacks there Tommy boy.

            MEGA-EDGE-LORD

          4. SOQ

Ok- I can’t read lip but let’s face it- Australia is hardly somewhere your average young Irish renter who can’t afford to buy in the corrupt Ireland would be thinking of these days eh?

  1. K. Cavan

Well Lagarde is a lovely woman (hahahaha!) & all she wants to do, with her mate, Klaus “Anal” Schwab, is to save the planet by ridding it of most of it’s Homo Sapiens infestation, using fake vaccines for a fake pandemic, then create a totalitarian dystopia for the survivors to live in. All of this to be achieved while leaving life unchanged for the wealthy.
Surely no upstanding fascist could possibly disagree with that?
Nigel’s already advanced a facile strawman argument in support.

    1. Nigel

Pretty sure the straw men in these exchanges are the millions who have dropped dead from the poison of the vaccines.

    2. George

Why would they want to do that at the age of 65 and 83 when they are already wealthy and privileged. The world is treating them very well so why destroy it?

  2. goldenbrown

Lagarde is a nasty fupping high priestess witch creature

I recommend a documentary “Inside Job” narrated by Matt Damon…about the 2008 crash…you can see the blacks of her eyes in that

  3. Ron

Why isn’t Christine Lagarde in jail?

Christine Lagarde has been found guilty of negligence in approving a massive payout of taxpayers’ money to controversial French businessman Bernard Tapie but avoided a jail sentence.

A French court convicted the head of the International Monetary Fund and former government minister, who had faced a €15,000 (£12,600) fine and up to a year in prison. But it decided she should not be punished and that the conviction would not constitute a criminal record. On Monday evening the IMF gave her its full support

  4. ProfessorMark

Oh man. If this virus had a higher IFR like lets say Ebola or worse you would all be freaking out and joining the Q to get a vaccine. I’m glad I got vaccinated but I’m still freaked out as I have underlying conditions. Its not ‘just the flu’ for everyone. Instead its a ‘conspiracy’. Christ. Off for a coffee.

    1. Micko

      Yes. Yes we would.

      If the IFR was higher.

      But it’s not.

But I think you were right to get it for yourself alright.
All about risk vs reward. ;)

  5. LizardKing

AHA!! I was wondering why broadsheet would re-tweeting anti-vax stuff on their twitter handle

I see now the reason is their is an anti-vaxxer helping run the site ( BODGER )

No point in arguing the positives that Vaccines are doing to someone who’s turned full AntiVax

I am just happy that their is a majority of sensible and altruistic persons still around to help in the battle against the “dangerous” virus

If everyone was anti-vax we’d be still locked down

    1. tom2

I’m pretty sure he’s not the only anti vaxxer behind the site. If you owned this site and were pro vaccines would you allow a contributor to post so much anti vax stuff?

        1. Slave to the Rhythm

Sure you and Giggidy have your own little echo bubble, practically finish each other’s sentences – what’s the difference?

    2. Bodger

LizardKing, you know they really hate us, but I think they have a particular contempt for their unpaid, unwitting minions like yourself. I certainly would in their place.

      1. LizardKing

Let me try and understand what you are suggesting here Bodger.

If you were a part of the Elite ( NWO or Illuminati or whatever ) you would have contempt for people like me , who followed the scientific advice and got vaccinated

Would you also hate Anti vaxxers like you suggest they do?

I fortunately don;t carry around hate or contempt.

I do feel sorry for you though

        Best Wishes

        Alan Fogarty aka LizardKing

        P.S This you –> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ryan_(publisher)

        1. Bodger

Lizardking, if I was part of a very evil conspiracy happening in real time and there were millions of goofy normies cheering me on I would be delighted, of course, but I would regard them as unusually dim bedfellows.

          1. Bodger

Imagine a person suffering adverse effects from the jab and reading your glib put-downs. They would regard you as sick.

          2. Nigel

Imagine how people who died of covid before a vaccine became available feel. Nothing. Because they’re dead.

          3. tom2

That poor young footballer actually passed away.. How would he or his family feel knowing that his death was used to propagate anti vaccine lies?

          4. Nigel

‘You are defending the people who made that decision.’

That’s a dizzyingly expansive use of ‘defending’ there. How much of your reading of current events relies on such loose, sloppy, fallacious thinking? Whoever came up with the idea that the pandemic is part of an evil conspiracy must be delighted by you, while also regarding you as an unusually dim bedfellow.

          5. Bodger

Nigel, I know you will never read the timeline I attached but if you did you will see there was no good medical reason for putting sick people in with the elderly. A regular human being would then ask, why would they do such a thing? Meanwhile, you assemble your latest snark.

          6. Lizardking

            You come across terribly sophomanic

            It is quite depressing actually.

Hopefully you see sense one day.

Ps Do you edit all the posts before they are posted aka my previous one

          7. Bodger

Lizardking, you are a low level troll believing the narrative and loving the chance to bully people online and feel righteous at the same time. No wonder you are depressed. And yes I had to look up sophomanic. I’ve been called worse.

          8. Bodger

Lizardking, I have been doing this for 11 years. You learn how to separate the men from the under bridge dwellers.

          9. Nigel

‘why would they do such a thing?’

Lack of preparedness. Incompetence. A level of neglect that could certainly be classed as homicidal. People should be prosecuted for it. But real journalism would involve digging up actual proof that it was deliberate calculated cold-blooded mass murder rather than just presenting timelines and making insinuations that are as confident as they are threadbare.

          10. Bodger

Oh yes, the memo that says: ‘Let’s kill granny’.

Two for you. Citywest was refurbished for that purpose (to accommodate the sick instead of putting them in elderly homes) yet it lay empty, why?

And this exact policy decision (sick people into homes) was repeated in New York killing thousands while two hospital ships remained empty in New York harbour. Again why?

          11. SOQ

Yes the nursing home euthanasia pattern was repeated in many countries- so much so it is hard to believe it was not deliberate.

How could so many make the same mistake over and over and over again?

Protecting the vulnerable was, and is, the core tenet of The Great Barrington Declaration of course.

          12. Nigel

When you two put it like that, proving internationally orchestrated mass murder should be trivial. Yet all you have is a bunch of disparate bits and pieces onto which you are forcing a pattern, which is all you are interested in doing, rather than carrying out the work of uncovering connections. No doubt there are illuminating YouTube videos on the subject.

          13. jungleman

But I thought the excess deaths were negligible and it’s just a seasonal flu? Would that not mean the government would have been wasting money setting up the citywest hospital and they didn’t kill anyone any those who died would have died anyway?

So many holes and contradictions in antivaxxers’ arguments.

      1. Bodger

George, it’s not a one man operation and the rest of the contributors (bar one to my certain knowledge) would all be pro-jab.

  6. eamonn

Lagarde is a bean counter type – worships currency – I imagine she sees few as friends and even fewer as equals. her currency worship doesn’t qualify her to decree what is necessary for global health/well being
you might argue that it should disqualify her. She has not been beyond reproach in her time either.
she is as qualified as any other who weighs in with their opinion from whatever unrelated sideline.

    1. Micko

Ah the old “fit healthy person dies from Covid” story.

An event so rare – it literally makes the newspapers.

    2. eamonn

it is difficult to discern glee on a screen, however, I feel perhaps you RuilleBuille have issues with ’em.
perhaps you are glad to see people perish on the rocks of their convictions ?

    1. Junkface

Nothing will stop the variants from becoming ever more infectious. This was the genetically enhanced part of the virus, so its transmissibility is way higher than a naturally occurring virus as it mutates.

      1. Bodger

‘Nothing will stop the variants from becoming ever more infectious.’

Have you tried turning off the telly?

      2. Nigel

There is no evidence that the virus was genetically enhanced. I’m not even sure it’s scientifically possible to genetically enhance a virus so that it mutates into more transmittable variants.

        1. Junkface

Yes there is. They go through it in the doc with virus experts. There is more evidence, even circumstantial, of a lab leak than of a natural transmission from an animal.

We’re still waiting for them to find this animal. It will never be found. (They always find the animals in question from natural outbreaks, we’re approaching 2 years now, A world record!) China lied about the whole thing. CCP standard behavior. Cover up after cover up.

          1. Junkface

Watch the documentary. They explain in full why it was more than likely genetically enhanced. They provide all of the scientific clues they have unearthed so far.

          2. Nigel

            ‘more than likely’

Yeah, the standard of proof that they unleashed an engineered virus, even by accident, that has killed more than four million people all over the world has got to be a tad higher than that.

          3. George

“They always find the animals in question from natural outbreaks, we’re approaching 2 years now, A world record!”

When did they find the animal that was the source of HIV?

          4. Junkface

            @George
When did they find the animal that was the source of HIV?

I was talking more about respiratory viruses like SARS, but good effort on trying to catch someone out.
What are the main theories of where AIDS came from anyway? I have never heard or read anything definitive.

        1. Bodger

H, Read how she flippantly dismisses the magnet thing and then ask yourself why we have two readers who have experienced that exact phenomenon. But yeah, McSweeney’s is cool and edgy.

          1. George

The description posted of the magnetic effect sounded like the effect of a ouija board. Though you believe in demons apparently so perhaps you believe ouija boards work.

            The ideomotor effect.

  7. Junkface

I’d rather get the vaccine than the genetically enhanced bat virus made in a Chinese lab without standard safety protocols. Next time, the world might not be so lucky.

    1. Slave to the Rhythm

Every day here is a rollercoaster now, it used to be certain posters creating false drama, now it’s one of the main contributors and founders…

    1. George

No causal link has been found according to the article. The material in the vaccines has been confirmed as stainless steel which is the kind of material you’d expect the machinery in a pharmaceutical factory to be made of. Shockingly it was not graphene oxide. I thought broadsheet was paying close attention to this but somehow that wasn’t featured….
