From top Micheál Martin with John McGuinness in 2015
This morning/afternoon.
Via Independent.ie:
Carlow-Kilkenny Deputy John McGuinness said a process should commence that would see the Micheal Martin replaced in a “constructive and respectable” manner
Deputy McGuinness, who is not attending Fianna Fáil’s party “think-in” in Cavan today, wrote a letter to the party’s Chief Whip Jack Chambers outlining the reasons why he believes Mr Martin should be replaced.
He told RTÉ Radio One that he is unhappy with the direction the party is taking and the handling of the 2020 general election.
“Fianna Fáil has been in the doldrums in terms of polls over the last 10 years. The first obligation is to have that discussion at party level. To decide how you’re going to move forward and to air your views and then to plan.
“I’m not expecting that we would have a new leader overnight. I’m expecting that we would do it differently. That we would give it time. That we would consider a process. That we would spread it out over a period and the candidates would then be given a chance to put their names forward, to discuss their agenda with the various members of the party and the organisation rather than a row that would happen and then a change.”

Evokes the distinct flavor of when Seymour Skinner was replaced with utmost dignity.

For every pup that this government sold us.
And every charlatan that has cajoled us.
With hindsight abundant.
She’s never redundant;
Here’s V to insist that she told us.
John ‘watery, dribbling from two sides of his mouth’ McGuinness – who even listens to him apart from the Sunday Independent subscribers?
Garda McCabe was certainly grateful to have John on his side.
..he made no friends at NAMA,as chair finance committee,he would make a great SF TD.
