You can only hope someone or something is coming,to finally stop this,

Taoiseach indicates stabs for over-fives. The number five is a line why? Why not go the whole hog and inject into a three month pregnancy? Why stop at three months even?

    1. Tighe’s Cylon

Yes indeedy. Why don’t we go back in time and retrospectively vaccinate ourselves this cancelling this pandemic and also giving you your free time back? Yes? No?

I am now expecting an email from a “journalist” working for The Belfast Telegraph because someone turned gay after reading my comments on broadsheet.ie

        1. Bitnboxy

Lol. I note from twitter that Sam is taking none of Ivor the Charlatan’s nonsense. Oh the most Cummins will likely do is the Gemma tactic: file a pleanary summons and then crickets once the defendant enters an appearance. No statement of claim – no further action. I’d would love if Cummin’s had the balls to sue to a hearing!

      1. Cui Bono?

        @Bitnboxy
Cummins is simply sharing the raw data from government and official sources. The data proves that covid is nowhere near as deadly as portrayed in the media and by the government.

Your problem is not with Cummins but with the data because it contradicts your irrational fear and means you have to face reality that you have been fooled.

See Ivor’s responses here to that disgraceful article https://thefatemperor.com/interesting-email-from-belfast-telegraph-reporter-see-here/

        1. Bitnboxy

Lol. I’m surprised Ivor “I’m not a ‘doctor-doctor'” Cummins has made his “responses” available for all and not behind a paywall. I’m sure his conscience is crystal clear…

          1. Cui Bono?

You don’t need to be a doctor to understand the data.

Nothing Ivor has shared has ever been behind a paywall, unlike the Belfast Telegraph article you shared which is.

He has made nothing compared to the billions and trillions Pharma, the Media, Blackrock, Vanguard etc. have made from the pandemic. If he was in it for the money he could make a lot more lying and push the mainstream narrative.

The good thing about the raw data is we don’t need to trust anyone, we can simply verify it for ourselves.

          2. E'Matty

Classic Bitnboxy, convinced Cummins, who posts free videos on YouTube, is on the take yet completely ignores the tens of billions being hoovered up by Big Pharma and the billionaire class on the back of this hysteria riddled scam.

  4. Birdie

Oh that Brendan O’Connor is insufferable. Complaining about populism yet his writing is populist nonsense with zero depth yet it gets a front page and a radio show. Thank the Gods that alternative educated opinions on podcasts and other outlets exist.

    1. Spot of Bodge

The extremely useful establishment idiot showed his true colours with his infamous “all the ballsy guys are investing in property now” article just as the financial crash was happening in 2008.

      1. Free Lunch

You need to say “all the ballsy guys are investing in property now” in the Cork nasally accent for the proper cluelessness and pig ignorance to soak in.

    1. Bitnboxy

Pure Putin panto. Akin to the Healy Raes with their battered Nokia stunt. Not so keen on showing the extent of their property portfolios however.

Still, the Healy Rae’s have yet to embrace Vlad’s penchant for a little facial refreshment. Lines, eye bags and loose skin have just vanished. Must be the fresh macho air! ROFL.

Judge Ó Donnabháin adjourned sentencing until September 27 for the defendant to put domestic matters in order before sentence is passed.

Detective Garda Colin O’Mahony said members of the Cork West divisional drugs unit observed the defendant go to a house on O’Connell Street, to which she had access as part of her cleaning work, where she removed a package and brought it to Honeycomb Lodge where she was residing.

David Barry from Montrose, Firgrove Crescent, Bishopstown in Cork previously pleaded guilty at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to a total of 29 separate indecent or sexual assault charges on the boys between 1986 and 2008.
On Thursday, Det Garda Gary Duggan of Bishopstown Garda Station told the court how the boys were all abused by Barry at various dates in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s after they joined the Togher Scouting Group, the 37th Cork troop.
The abuse happened in Barry’s home in Bishopstown when the boys, who were aged 13 to 16, would stay over and, in some cases, he plied them with alcohol and showed them pornography on television before sexually assaulting them.
The abuses consisted of Barry coming up to the boys either when they were in bed or sitting beside him on a sofa at his home and fondling them while he also abused one boy in a shower.….

Thousands marched in London yesterday against vaccine passports and stabbing children. It really is a sign of the times where record numbers are out in most major cities across the world and yet, the main media just ignores it.

That alone must surely raise questions with even those who are not of a conspiratorial mindset.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9namhHELK0

    1. Bitnboxy

“Stabbing children”. Jesus wept – to use a hackneyed internet phrase. Profound immaturity borne of indolence.

Personally, rather than vaccinating the very young for what is a benign virus in children, I’d rather those doses get sent to adults in the third and developing worlds so they can get “stabbed”.

What do you think we’ll argue about when covid is has died the good death as a subject?

Seeing as some people have supplanted their entire personalities with their opinion on covid.

Not sure if sex, politics and religion will cut it, tbh. Answers on a postcard please.

    1. Bitnboxy

Should be housing given the ongoing utter catastrophe here and elsewhere for such a basic human need. But no, the Covid “experts” on here will flog the issue to death – excuse the inept pun, long after the virus has reached endemic stage.

I am always a bit surprised what little traction housing gets on here as opposed to the daily Covid dirge and I have no doubt this is down to the exodus of the more reasonable and measured of commenters given the decline of the site and its less than edifying firm editorial line vis à vis Covid.

      1. Cui Bono?

The lack of housing and increase in price is by design.

It’s part of the UN, WEF etc. global plan to stop the middle class and working class from owning their own home. They want us renting off them forever.

But you’ll probably ignore this and call it a conspiracy theory even though they have spoken and written books about it for years.

        1. Bitnboxy

That deranged commenter is well able to dish it out to all and sundry. Not so keen on a few home truths.

          1. Truther

Bitnboxy, Giggidy Goo is merely annoying

You on the other hand are a tendentious, insidious and incessant creep.

          2. Bitnboxy

Ignore me then sweetpea. One could at least say that you’re hardly indifferent to either Giggz or my good self. Nobody cares. You shouldn’t either!

            :-p

    2. SOQ

I can only speak for myself Millie but I just think the CoVid-19 subject is so important that it has the potential to transform society, and not in a good way. Never in our lifetimes has been such a global mobilisation of people and it appears like big Pharma has captured entire governments.

But I don’t think that its going to be over any time soon mind, not if the evidence coming out of Israel and Singapore is anything to go by. Dr Robert Malone who invented the mRNA is now citing evidence of Antibody Dependent Enhancement as the vaccines wane, which is a frightening prospect. Delores Cahill and Judy Mikovits have been warning about this from the very start of course.

I hope they are wrong- genuinely- because the alternative really doesn’t bear thinking about.

Just one final point- up until CoVid-19, people who were ‘anti vax’ were regarded as being alternative sorts, mainly left wing and progressive. But since then a switch has been flipped and they are smeared as right wing- how and why did that happen?

      1. Lilly

Delores Cahill has also been warning about oxygen deprivation caused by mask wearing, so forgive me for not taking the bould professor too seriously.

        1. SOQ

Maybe it is how my brain is wired but how much I perceive a like or dislike of someone is usually not front and centre when focused on a topic. I am not very knowledgeable in this field so I try to hear all sides- as a means of educating myself from base level.

Would you have responded differently if I had not mentioned Delores Lilly? Genuine question.

          1. Lilly

It’s not a question of like or dislike, SOQ. I’m fairly neutral on Cahill as a personality. But as I said, I can’t take her seriously after that oxygen deprivation nonsense. She’s meant to be a scientist for crying out loud. Did she think she was addressing an audience of 3-year-olds. These days when I see her name, my eyes glaze over, and any point raised is instantly discounted in my mind. So, to answer your question, I would have given your post some consideration if my eye hadn’t alighted on her Deloresness.

          2. SOQ

What is it about her Antibody Dependent Enhancement prediction that you have an issue with?

Is she wrong? If so how?

      2. Nigel

The shift from anti-vaxx being a predominantly hippy lefty thing to a far-right conspiracy thing came around the time of the ‘vaxes cause autism’ fraud, and the US right had it well incorporated it into their worldview along with intelligent design and climate change being fake by the time Trump was elected.

        ‘I hope they are wrong’

Well that gives you something to look forward to.

          1. Nigel

You may be wrong, but at least you’re confident about it.

Covid 19 gave us the perfect storm of right-wingers high on their apparent power to assert whatever version of reality suits them at at any particular time, going from ‘the pandemic is a hoax’ to ‘the vaccines are a variety of evil things too numerous to list here.’

        1. just millie

I’m gonna repost my comment from earlier, which was inexplicably deleted:

Well this was interesting. There’s none so strange as other people, right?

@Lilly – same. I miss talking about books. Feels like no one talks about books these days. Something Out of Place by Eimear McBride is very good, if anyone is looking for a recommendation. I’m also rereading my Georgette Heyer collection, which is fun.

    3. Papi

I’d say Queenie will have to restart the virus just so he can be suitably outraged fort the rest of his life at child abuse, face nappies, etc etc etc. Iceland! Israel!

Interesting story on the Sunday Times front page about Beaumont staff declining vaccination. “Beaumont Hospital in north Dublin, which took legal action over false claims that it was “forcing” staff to get Covid jabs, has revealed that 186 workers have declined to be vaccinated.

Eight medical staff, 49 nursing staff and 57 administrators have not been inoculated, according to records released under the Freedom of Information Act. In addition 14 health and laboratory staff and 58 support and care workers have not had jabs.”

Oh, those anti science lab workers! Clearly they have completely ignored health experts promoting the Vaccines like Claire Byrne and Joe Duffy.

The article then blatantly and predictably seeks to link this vaccine hesitancy to higher Covid numbers “On January 8, at the height of the third wave, Beaumont had the highest number of Covid cases of any hospital in Dublin. It was behind only Cork and Limerick hospitals nationally for the number of infected patients. Other hospitals have yet to release their vaccine uptake rates” Given the fact the first Covid vaccine was only adminstered in Ireland on 29 December 2020, Beaumonts Covid rate on January 8th had absolutely nothing to do with vaccine hesitancy. Such clearly deceitful manipulation of the public’s perception by that British rag. Just another of the many examples of where they are misrepresenting and framing information to deceive and fool the, admittedly gullible, Irish people.

Can’t you respond to poor oul divil with a bit of respect Daisy? It appears you haven’t even the basic manners to try to understand what their point of view is, let alone be able to articulate it in any objective sort of way. Boring.

          2. Daisy Chainsaw

That’s what I’m doing right now, reading the latest Elena Ferrante. It’s not a patch on My Brilliant Friend but the Neapolitan setting has reeled me in. The Eimear McBride one is on my list. Also have Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott on the go and Colum McCann’s Apeirogon up next. As for the Covid confab, it’s like being stuck in an interminable Science class at school, waiting for the damn bell to go. Really brings out the ADHD in me.

      1. just millie

Not sure what happened there Lil.

That’s a fantastic tbr pile. I’m not familiar with Elena Ferrente, but I’m really interested now. Where’s a good place to start? It’s been hard work getting back into reading, especially lately. The avid reader of my youth would be disgusted.

Yeah, the never-ending story of covid is incredibly tiresome. All that discourse and meaningless point scoring, going nowhere. Hence, books. When all else fails, there are always books.

        1. Lilly

Start with My Brilliant Friend. It’s the first of her Neapolitan quartet. Very atmospheric with a great central character, guaranteed to transport you to the streets of Naples. For a song to accompany it, think Where Do You Go To My Lovely.

  10. just millie

Broadsheet, where did my comment go? Who did I offend with my book recommendations?

Georgette Heyer is wonderful, I’ll have you know!
