Did the Social Democrats not vote against stupid Passports?

I would dearly love to hear what excuses these idiots have for this nonsense.

Social Democrats? National Socialists more like.

  2. Mr.T

Wouldnt it be a shame if someone rang up this hotline with lots of false tips to tie up the investigators..

    1. SOQ

The responses to that tweet are uniformly critical but one nails it.

Ireland is the same narrow-minded, bigoted, superstitious, curtain-twitching country it was 50 years ago – maybe worse now. In 50 years time, courageous Irish people will express their outrage at the scandals of today, just the mother and baby scandal, etc

Doesn’t Murphy realise the harm she is doing? Crazy stuff.

        1. SOQ

It was also institutionalised segregation was it not?

How anyone who claims to be a Social Democrat can support such is beyond me- they have just handed their seats to SF.

      1. Nilbert

This is pathetic. Its an ugly, witless statement.
To make this comparison shows how deranged your arguments are, and how lacking in understanding or empathy you are.
it seems everybody is abandoning this place, apart from one last and fast-dwindling group of attention-cravers, cluelessly squawking the same lies at each other, as they have done for the last year.

Its funny to dip in once in a while, to see the parade of idiots waddling around with their trousers around their ankles, golden scepters of righteousness held aloft, eyes thrown in heaven in disbelief that no-one else can see their truth!

        1. SOQ

What is pathetic is a Passport System which bans people who can prove they are not infectious, while welcoming those who probably are.

That the Social DemocRATS would be supporting something from 1930’s Germany is an absolute disgrace- especially as they voted against it in the first place.

          Inconsistency much?

          1. Nilbert

By the tone of your comments, you seem to only hear one thing in your head…the same lonesome thought, tragically lurching about in ever decreasing and frantic circles of desparation.

          2. SOQ

Is personal attacks the best you can do?

Try discussing the topic at hand- you know- just for a change.

          3. Nilbert

“Try discussing the topic at hand- you know- just for a change.”

What’s the point? People have exhausted themselves trying to explain the same simple concepts to you for the last year. You doggedly refuse to reconsider anything beyond your orignal stubborn postiion.

But in terms of personal attacks…. grow up, don’t be so hysterical.
You compared the genuine horrors or the Mother and Child scandal with people who feel victimised because they refuse to cooperate with the health and safety measures, ones which enabled them to re-open their own business.

If you can’t see that… fair enough, I suppose. You’re just not capable.

      @ MrT

LOL – great idea! maybe a couple of pubs and restaurants might get temporarily closed until they figured out the hoax! You could have a giggle with your mates watching the action from across the street

      1. E'Matty

They can realise the hoax all they want but we’ll tie them up with so many fake reports, we’ll collapse their snitch system. I plan on reporting any pubs who are particularly zealous in their compliance. Have them inspected as much as possible. Waste resources as much as possible. See this like the Water charges boycott. If we do this in sufficient numbers, the system simply cannot succeed. They cannot tell a fake snitch from a real snitch without investigating. We’ll flood them with fake reports. Actually kinda looking forward to this now. Will make a game out of it. See who can register the most fake reports.

        1. Pat

Yeah – let’s get some waiters and kitchen staff fired! Close down a few of these goodie-goodie government obeying ‘employers’! Ha ha ha! Maybe later I could hang out with you guys or whatever no pressure

          1. E'Matty

Pat, you’re not the sharpest tool in the box, as they say. Why would “some waiters and kitchen staff” be fired as a result of my actions? I’m only reporting the goody goody two shoes pubs and restaurants. The zealots who proudly proclaim and act on their compliance. Why would they be closed by your snitch squad?

On the other hand, by supporting the snitch squad call line you are actively supporting a measure that will actually lead to ordinary waiters, kitchen staff and bar men and women losing their jobs after months out of work. All for what? Failing to check a pass that serves no role whatsoever in reducing the spread of this virus.

The only jobs I’d be risking would be those bottom feeders in the snitch squad call centre. Good riddance.

  3. E'Matty

Strangely, I’m now looking forward to them trying to establish this snitch line. It’ll give us a good outlet to waste their time and resources in an efficient and effective manner. Should be fun.

  4. Nullzero

Ireland; a nation of curtain twitching judgmental morally superior twits.

Coming soon; Name and Shame people you know who aren’t vaccinated.

  5. K. Cavan

You know that Murphy is simply widdling in the wind here & is merely creating more work for her dry cleaners & a nasty smell in the corridors of power. What an idiot.
Finally, as the narrative collapses we reach Red Nose Day & the clowns are rolled out to do a song & dance routine. Irish pub culture is incompatible with the Build The New Fouth Industrial Sustainable World Order Back Better scam, so it is under constant attack. They might as well recommend we all stop breathing because that will definitely reduce transmission to zero. The best their supporters on here can offer is that we can’t be endangering jobs, after the longest lockdown on the planet, I mean, seriously?
Somebody needs to tell these people the game’s up.

    1. GiggidyGoo

The game is up alright. The images of Merkel getting out of her car, putting on a mask outside where she meets no-one, and jettisoning of it immediately once indoors when meeting people, as well as Boris sitting beside Attenborough, unmasked, and Ryan with his lame double-check all give the game away. Not to mention Michilín dispensing with his mask regularly for photo shoots.
Catherine is at the age where she’s been bombarded with, and. believes, Holohan and Co’s worry soundbites, so can’t really blame her.

  6. GiggidyGoo

So. Stayed in a hotel last evening on the way up North. A bit of me time, and buying some christmas booze.

    – note on entering the bar/restaurant to have Covid Cert and ID at the ready. ‘Resident? – go ahead’ Cert not asked for.

Staying in a Midlands hotel at this very moment, pint of Bud in hand, and Chicken Curry on the way. Note on the way in ‘ Please have Covid ID and ID ready to be checked’ Not asked either.

Box ticking. The hospitality industry knows the rubbish this is.

    1. GiggidyGoo

      By the way….

      1L Baileys Supervalu Ireland €30. Sainsburys £12
      45 bottles Becks £ 21
      36 bottles Heineken £21
      Famous Grouse £14
      Gordon’s Dry Gin £14
      Ever been had?

Make your way to Sainsburys / ASDA / Tesco, Northern Ireland

    2. GiggidyGoo

Have to say, where I am now, for a bit of balance, Manageress has arrived on the scene and is checking Covid passes and writing phone numbers in the book for 3 diners ( not ID’s though ) at the moment – but only that they offered them, rather than being asked for them.
