Ottawa has declared a state of emergency to help deal with an unprecedented 10-day occupation by protesting truckers that has blocked much of the centre of the Canadian capital

This morning.

From the western province of Alberta, moving east to Quebec City, and in cities and towns in between, thousands of Canadians have hit the streets in trucks, tractors, cars and on foot to protest the nation’s Covid-19 restrictions.

With persistent and noisy horn honking, protesters are demanding governments at all levels lift their health restrictions, including vaccine and mask mandates, lockdowns and restrictions on businesses and gatherings.

“The whole event has gone beyond just vaccines and it is now about the entire ordeal,” protester James MacDonald told CNN, adding he’s been in Ottawa since last weekend and has no intention of leaving until health measures are dropped.

didn’t a couple of protestors set fire to an apartment building at the weekend and seal up the doors with people still inside?

      No idea.

But I’m sure the usual suspects will be along in a second to accuse you of JAQing.

      Aaaaaaaany second now…

No idea- back to your punk friend who mowed 4 people-driving a JEEP- while wearing a face covering- so that’s ok.

‘didn’t a couple of protestors set fire to an apartment building at the weekend and seal up the doors with people still inside?’

I don’t know, Paul, did they? Do you know?

Please provide your evidence that (a) the incident happened, (b) in the way you say and, if it did, (c) that the two people were ‘protestors’, ie, genuinely part of the Freedom Convoy protest and not trouble-makers, making use of the situation for their own purposes or, possibly, even acting as provocateurs, aligned with some other movement or body. Be honest, too, and admit to not knowing the answer to any of these points, where this is the case..

That way, people can make a more informed decision as to the truth or otherwise of what you are implying (but not actually stating as fact) in your question.

        @Paul

Mind you, if you were being satirical, please make that a bit clearer because your question sounded so much like the buzz of a ‘chainsaw’.

Mr Trudeau is an all round great guy and my case of sexual assault of a minor when he was a teacher was settled out of court – nothing was proven.

The fuel is question is not just diesel but also heating gas, which is necessary at night time because the temperatures are so low. It is worth noting that there are entire families camping out there, as evidenced by the amount of children running around. But there is another question- how exactly are they going to leave if they have no diesel?

According to the truckers, the protest is legal so therefore the confiscation of fuel is illegal. No sign of Trudeau of course but there are claims of hotels being block booked by the government, as evidenced by the fact that there is no vacancies but also, no lights on in entire blocks of rooms.

Maybe the hotels don’t want the protesters on their premises, intimidating staff and refusing to leave after they’ve paid for only one night. Booking.com has loads of rooms available for tonight.

      1. SOQ

Who said they would be staying only one night? And I think you’ll find that discriminating against people in such a matter is illegal. The rooms were bought and paid for according to the staff- but you obviously know better.

Meanwhile in Toronto- people are now very wise to the provocateurs.

As usual, I won’t be touching any of your links with a sterilsed bargepole, especially one where the link had to be broken to allow it!

There are several rooms available in Ottawa and what law are the hoteliers breaking by not accommodating protesters with a history of violence and intimidation?

          1. SOQ

There is no history if violence- even the police admit to that- but keep sneering and smearing eh?

Although a number of protestor vehicles have been damaged with spray paint but that doesn’t count I suppose.

          2. Doxy Chainsaw

No history of violence except the many incidents reported, including an attempt at the mass murder of police officers.
