A Limerick A Day

The decommissioned Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) Inshore Patrol Vessels – ex HMNZS Rotoiti (top) and HMNZS Pukaki (above) – are intended to replace LÉ Orla and LÉ Ciara

Our navy has just purchased two
New vessels but we’re short of crew
So they’re far away
Which is where they will stay
Until we figure out what to do

We should impound and refit a few superyachts. There’s be no trouble recruiting for the navy then.

Jesus they do not have even a crew to sail them
It’s time our taxes are not wasted on buying what’s like a billionaires collection of antique cars

Where the hell anyway is the government going to stump up the cash to pay for everything from fighter jets refugees wage increases doctors nurses consultants mental health facilities
Simon is growing into a PBP and Sinn Fein money tree sales man
What next patriot defence systems iron domes nukes and rockets to mars

Why did we buy boats for which we have insufficient crew in the first place?
They are very pretty all the same

I hope we don’t keel over when we hear the price.
(I’ll have to give myself a stern talking-to).
