I like that the guy in the first picture has a supplemental sign that charcterises his main sign.

    1. scottser

he also owns a fancy sandwich toaster.
i could totally go for a toasted ham and cheese right now.

    2. Broadbag

The corrections on the last sign are just fantastic, particularly loving the added comma, really elevates the message from loonsville to well-constructed.

  2. E'Matty

Fair play to them rightly calling for these ridiculous Emergency Powers to be allowed lapse

    1. SOQ

I think everyone should be watching very closely- and remember- all who vote in favour of this extension.

There will be lots of weasel words and speaking out of both sides of the mouth at the one time but be assured, those people are not democrats.

        1. SOQ

          Good- the peasants are revolting.

How is that ‘vaccines work’ placard these days? Getting much wear out of it?

        2. K.Cavan

It’s not meant for you, Cian. As far as democracy goes, you’re a passenger, it’s just that most people don’t deserve the type of fascist hellhole that people with a slavish & complicit attitude to authority inevitably create.

  3. Daisy Chainsaw

Now that the KKKanadian Truckkkers aren’t stealing their thunder anymore, the home grown variant are back to their attention seeking ways. (nooses and 2X4 “flagpoles” just out of shot.)

    1. SOQ

I suppose if you stopped flinging smears around the place- there wouldn’t much of your persona left now would there?

I mean it’s not you have strong views on anything apart from trying to be as rude as possible and get under other people’s skins.

Although, Dolly was a big fan of the leper passes and jabbing children too- but sure narcissists will say anything to make themselves feel they are getting one up on others. Oh and the twitter activity of course- let’s not forget that.

      1. Broadbag

        SOQ just doesn’t do self-awareness:

”I suppose if you stopped flinging smears around the place- there wouldn’t much of your persona left now would there?”

…proceeds to fling several smears in the same reply.

”narcissists will say anything to make themselves feel they are getting one up on others”

        – like when you were in such a rush to correct a comment you mistook Kamila Harris for Nancy Pelosi? Narcissists like that is it?

        1. SOQ

          and right on queue.

Making a mistake between two US politicians because I hadn’t reading glasses on is hardly the same thing as spending a full year calling people the most offensive names possible.

          Narcissism writ large.

          1. Broadbag

We all know the ‘reading glasses’ was a lame excuse. There was a large picture, a video, and the text mentioned ‘the VP’ yet in your glee-rush to correct a comment you didn’t even bother reading the original post or looking at the picture or watching the video – pointing out an error was all you cared about and you ended up looking rather silly (until all evidence was conveniently removed).

            Narcissim writ large indeed!

          2. SOQ

Presuming you know someone’s mind is one thing but presuming you know what size of device someone uses is another- especially when trying to justify the behaviour of one of the most obnoxious commentators on this site,

          3. Oro

It was pretty funny that you were trying to make a joke about Nancy’s senility, while going thru an entirely senile moment yourself, and then trying to explain it as a reading glasses gaffe ;) you really did play yourself.

          4. SOQ

If nip picking one simple mistake makes you feel better then have it. More likely to distract from the criticisms of the Daisy Chainsaw account of course, but sure birds of a feather and all that.

          5. Oro

You can keep your nip picking to yourself thank you, for your own sake I hope you’re moisturizing after.

        2. K.Cavan

Broadbag, I don’t think you’re even buying that, yourself. Dolly hasn’t contributed as much in her entire time on here, as SOQ can, in one post. He has insights, he presents them, agree or disagree as you please. Dolly has never contributed a single insight & smears are not the same as criticism.
I think you know you’re on a stickly wicket with this, exactly what smears are contained in his post, above? Dolly doesn’t just smear people on here, she will insult anyone who dares oppose authority.
It’s all true & you know it.
Cut out the cutting & pasting, too, please, it’s juvenile.

          1. Broadbag

”Dolly was a big fan of the leper passes and jabbing children too- but sure narcissists will say anything to make themselves feel they are getting one up on others. Oh and the twitter activity of course”

If you don’t see a smear (multiple smears) above then that’s on you. As for cutting and pasting I’ll do as I please thanks, it’s a great way of showing double standards and hypocrisy. Anyway, who made you the comment police? You were calling for another poster to be banned the other day, physician heal (police) thyself!

        1. SOQ

And there we are- with nothing to say.

But think on this- if your pathetic name calling and sneering influenced even just one person to take that poison whom is now injured, YOU played a part.

          1. SOQ

And what about all those ghosts of people who took that muck in good faith and either died of CoVid-19 anyways, or from the actual vaccines? Everyone of them had a family and everyone had people left behind.

            Grow up.

          2. K.Cavan

This is the only place Dolly encounters any people who don’t follow the exact same set of instructions from Corporate Capitalism, I’d reckon. That’s why we make her so angry & anger & rage is the only thing she adds to this forum, she lives for her assinine political views, the New Wisdom, which is a fairly sad state of affairs.

          3. SOQ

            Naa I recognise this

Bored old biddys and codgers playing head games and always trying to get one up on each other to pass the boredom, while sitting waiting on the civil service pension.

After thirty / forty odd years it becomes so engrained that it becomes the only way they know how to interact.

It’s a form of institutionalisation which is why they have such faith in state rules and hierarchies.

      1. K.Cavan

You’re a loser & a weakling, TMan, if that’s how you really feel, see Verbatim’s post, below.

      2. Daisy Chainsaw

I’d like to see it lapse, just to see what cause they’ll rally around next. It most likely won’t be homelessness, waiting lists, climate change or Yemen. Maybe 5G and racism.

        1. Mad

maybe it will be the ongoing transparent grand larceny of taxpayers, the environment and consumers that the Common Agricultural Policy as administered by you and oik ilk represent?

    1. freewheeling

This is the problem – TDs do enjoy a lack of democracy. And they’re the ones who get to vote on it!

  4. Verbatim

I put my money on them extending their powers, of course they will.
Our “so called” freedoms were fought for in the past and losers just gave them up. We shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.

      1. Ronan

Surely they can re-instantiate them at a time of their choosing? What’s to celebrate in the lack of an extension?

        1. Cian

Do you realise the the government make any law it wants?
it is literally one of the main reasons for having a government.

          1. K.Cavan

You think you know how government works, Cian, that’s your problem. Especially if you believe they can pass any law they wish. You seem to be confused between government & governance, look them up in a dictionary.

        2. SOQ

The difference is that it will have to go to a vote again and hopefully some semblance of debate to justify it.

Roiling such forward for the sake of it- is Trudeau country.

          1. Cian

Tell me you don’t understand how laws are passed without telling me you don’t understand how laws are passed.

          2. Cian

You tell me the difference between “rolling forward” the current law and “voting again”.

      2. Oro

@M I remember you saying something along the lines of (paraphrasing) “if you think these restrictions are going away then you’re a dope” around two-three months ago. Funny how things change eh?

I don’t know if you remember our previous back and forth about overall timelines when I estimated a 2.5year duration for the worst of it and you said I was deluded. Looks like that timeline is hopefully realistic. Do you think your ‘control’ narrative might just be….wrong? And that there are medical realities governing the way that the pandemic plays out? I know it’s not as fun as your control delusion but it’s worth considering.

        1. Micko

“ Do you think your ‘control’ narrative might just be….wrong?”

Of course I could be wrong.

But as I said the other day, none of what we did worked. Not lockdowns, social distancing, masks, ventilation, vaccines, boosters etc None of it worked. The only thing that worked was the virus itself changing and lots of people getting it, which dampened the fear. (Perhaps all our unsuccessful interventions actually prolonged everything – who knows)

Covid is still out there, but people aren’t afraid anymore. I have no doubt if the fear was still there we’d still be in restrictions. We currently have 4 times those in hospital as we did this time last year – but no one cares.

But sure look, I’m a happy lad nowadays. My business is back, my daughters life is back to normal and we avoided all the coercion.

So yup, take your “ I was right about the 2 years” win if you like Oro.

I’m very, very happy to give it to you. :)

          1. Mad

I’m happy for you Micko because I do worry about how someone so stupid can support a family to be honest

          2. Oro

Depends on what you mean by ‘worked’. If you mean saved a bunch of lives and made the hospital situation less chaotic, then yes they ‘worked’.

It’s not about taking a win, rather just is always good to acknowledge that your brand of smug self satisfaction can be incorrect sometimes….usually…..mostly?

          3. Mad

Or just plain psychotic Oro – there is no other word for it. The poster Micko hails the guy who refers to serial pederast and rapist Jimmy Savile as a “cad”, and who says he wasn’t all bad, as he raised money for charity. The other day I saw he wrote that “I only care about my loved ones and relatives” etc. What is that only pure psychosis? That’s what you’re dealing with here Oro.

          4. Micko

            “psychotic”????

Are you a doctor? Are you medically qualified to make such assertions…?

            Where’s your science degree Grimsey?

            ______________
On a personal note, this “are you a doctor?” bit is quite fun – I can see why you dumbazzes engaged in it so much the last two years.

          5. Mad

bleat bleat something contrary and a strong chance of someone making a joke that only sounds funny in their own head … bleat

          6. Micko

            Awww…

Well thanks for playing anyway Monsieur Fou.

I was impressed with your “Oro, do you know what else Micko said” bit o’ gossip there.

            Well done. That was great.

Maybe you can just go back to calling people idiots and other one-liner stuff.

            More your style really eh?

        2. K.Cavan

Well, Oro, I’d advise you not to look into the plans the EU has for Digital IDs & replacing government with the WHO if they decide again that a Common Cold represents a Pandemic. It might harsh your vibe, man.
Our government are merely kicking this upstairs, to EU level, where considerations like Democracy, Human Rights & holding into your golden ticket through universal suffrage don’t count.

  5. Kim The Cardassian

Look at these clowns. “Medical apathetic”. Total toe rags.

When the powers elapse, and they will as they aren’t necessary, where will all those clowns who claimed this wasn’t about a pandemic, it was about control? Oh that’s right, pulling the stomach off themselves at home making claims online about the Will Smith slap being linked to Pfizer.

    1. Maura

I went back to check the pics as I was surprised I hadn’t noted ‘apathetic’ – shouldn’t have been, it wasn’t there. The term printed is ‘Medical Apartheid’ and regardless of ones views on the term, its spelling is correct.
Would advise your good self to re-consider your use of ‘elapse’ in its context above – don’t regularly do that but gladly do it to those who have done it to others.
And for good measure, using such an inelegant, poorly constructed phrase as ‘pulling the stomach off themselves at home’ negates your poor attempt to cast any grammatical, spelling or syntax stones …

      1. SOQ

What you will find around here Maura is there are individuals who’s sole goal is to get under other people’s skins- right and wrong is irrelevant- as long as they get what they consider to be their nicks and cuts in.

        They are not nice people.

        1. Maura

Agree; doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun with them every now and then – makes them useful for something!

          1. SOQ

I will say this- such bad actors have an agenda and it is usually is to harm the host site. If this was my business, not only would I be blocking them but where their collective identify is known- actively going after them too.

    2. Micko

Ah it was about control and coercion.

Why else would do many people have lined up to get an emergency use medicine utilising tech that was never before used in humans?

But sure who cares now, everyone made their own choice.

Thankfully omicron changed the public mindset and the restrictions could no longer be justified as people weren’t terrified anymore as so many caught it over Chrimbo.

I mean there’s 1610 people in hospital with Covid at the mo.

This day last year there was only 310…

      1. K.Cavan

Sars02 has become mild, highly infectious & endemic, as I said it would (because the Professor told me so) exactly like every other Coronavirus. It will, also like other Coronaviruses, continue to kill people for as long as there are sick people to kill but it is not unique, it will merely be taking victims from 229E & other Coronaviruses.
The death rate will stay unaturally high, due to damage inflicted by the Fake Vaccines on Immune Systems but Coronaviruses cannot be vaccinated against, ever, it’s just technically impossible.
Innate Immunity will protect us, at least as a species, as it always has done, assuming the injections have not edited the germ line, as the vast majority have inherited suitable Lymphocytes from both parents, who most likely had dozens of Coronavirus infections, or Colds, in their lifetimes.
So it turns out that Herd Immunity, which almost every Covidian here mocked from their positions of complete ignorance, was our only hope, all along. Anyone trying to claim the fake vaccines worked is talking crap.

    3. K.Cavan

Well, I looked, I searched but I didn’t see what you saw, Kim.
I’m sure White South Africans had a similar attitude towards actual APARTHEID, but who gave a crap what they thought?

  6. Dinkum

But they cannot force you to carry it on your phone or on your person
Let’s face it those stupid to put it on their phones are mad

    1. K.Cavan

C’mon Dinkum, that’s utterly naive. They have newspapers, TV, radio, guns, police, courts, jails, they can make you do whatever they want, especially if the vast majority of the population are making baa-baa noises.
      And they are.
In the kingdom of sheep, the collie is king.

      1. SOQ

I have a fascination with livestock guardian dogs at the moment. They are a breed of dog which becomes part of a herd of goats or sheep, and then protects them.

Even when a goat or sheep is giving birth, a guardian dog stays with her the whole time to protect against predators and in turn- the first thing the kid / lamb sees is a guardian dog- so that is how the trust relationship begins.

        Amazing stuff.

Lots of goat videos here https://urlebird.com/user/pdr.stockdogs/ if you want to have a look.

      2. Dinkum

        Nairve
Sure all this about a covid cert that is proof you have vaccine
But if you put it on your phone you can be traced,I am sure .
But nothing about data centres and the fact data centres could be storing our data in the USA
But imagine the outrage if these centres were in Russia or China .
I do not like the fact that someone has access to any personal information about myself and can sell that information on
Ever wonder how ads tailor made to you appear on your I Pad or mobile ?.
