To join another empire or reich
      And aren’t we doing well
Homelessness over a million on a waiting list and even better the last throws of our neutrality

      1. TenPin Terry

And every decade or so since then the politicians have crashed the economy, had to be bailed out and seen a generation of Ireland’s brightest talent leave to take their skills elsewhere ( thanks Ireland.)
Now you’ve got an economy that is heavily dependent on half a dozen mult-nationals and a political system that has ceded real power to unelected commissioners in the EU.
What remains of the system is entirely devoted to keeping the IRA Army Council
        out of govermennt.
Meanwhile the corridors of every hospital in the land are filled every night with very sick people on trolleys unable to get a bed.
Welcome to the brave new world.

          1. Verbatim

Tom, I deleted them as I just KNEW someone was watching me, and thought they were a bit too subversive.
Not possible to do with all of them.

        1. K.Cavan

No, Terry, clearly you’re not up to date on what Sinn Fein are. Almost entirely shorn of the IRA connections, it’s now a rainbow flag, open borders, anti-nationalist, anti-Irish party, funded by Soros & piloted by a fat bird. They’ve been selected to play the part of the opposition, by the Oligarchs who rule The West, while FF will merge into FG, to present the image of a Left/Right dialectic, although both sides will be almost identical in regard to the elimination of local differences & the ultimate aim of turning the Irish into global consumers in the global marketplace.
I do wonder where we’ll go next, as the megalomaniacal dreams of the Globalists evaporate & America’s three decades of steering a unipolar world order stumble like Joe Biden trying to read from a teleprompter.

      2. K.Cavan

You’d have to conclude, Dinkum, that the Irish haven’t the ability to stand on their own four feet, wouldn’t you? After the British went, did we build any buildings that weren’t ugly eyesores, designed solely to make profit for some greasy till merchant? Was there any meaningful attempt to reform our institutions? We just carried on with a badly-run version of the British state, created our own version of their class system, with extra added snobbery, added a dash of cute hoorism to increase the levels of corruption & sat ourselves down to stew in the mess. We created two versions of the Tories, one wet, one more right-wing, while no functional Socialist party ever emerged, even to act as an opposition.
All the while we looked to the US, as an alternative, which has seen American-run NGOs take the place of public opinion in the formation of policies in our political system, as we became the Wokest, most pussy-whipped nation in the EU & therefore the most likely to become the first European nation to bow out, by becoming a minority in their own land, an overt admittance of our own failure as a State & a people, a virtual suicide. Although the same forces got a tight grip on the Oligarchy that rules Europe from Brussels, we pay so much lip service to being a unique people, while doing everything we possibly can to snuff out that uniqueness, to become just like everybody else or rather, what we imagine everybody else to be.
Of course, in terms of our mainstream culture, we never achieved independence from Britain, at all, we became less like orphans, more like the child of a failed marriage, seeking approval from the EU, the US & the UK, in turn, so hungry for a pat on the head, so needy that we are unable to address what we feel, ourselves, being more concerned with how others see us.
They all think we’re pathetic little leprechauns, they’re right. The dysgenic effects of centuries of emigration are clearly visible, along with our most desperate, our most intelligent & our most adventurous all left, never to return, taking all the good genes out of circulation, leaving us an island of dullards, cautious reactionaries, shy fascists & gombeenmen & women, with the lowest average IQ in Europe & above-average levels of schizophrenia & other inherited mental disorders.
Ah, only joking, sure we’re great craic, innit?

        1. TenPin Terry

Tell me more about ‘ the lowest average IQ in Europe’.
I always thought that but never found evidence to back it up.
I fought back against my Tan pals telling thick Irish jokes for years because mainly most of the Iriish people I knew were sharp as a tack.
But also there’s no smoke without fire.

    1. stephen moran

that’s a jaded lazy trope implying Ukrainian’s lack any individual or collective agency – a reductive Orientalist worldview that asserts even when such peoples assert their independence they do so under duress and cannot be trust to make up their own minds.

        1. andrew

What an inanely stupid comment. So Stephen’s assertion that Ukrainians are acting on own volition is somehow incorrect or hypocritical or disingenuous if he himself doesn’t enlist?

You Putin fanboys are desperately scraping the barrel now.

Where’s the other idiot who bemoaned the lack of evidence of civilians suffering, and asserted it meant the claims from the West were all fabricated? Back under a rock? That was ETwatty by the way.

          1. K.Cavan

stephen’s assertion that Ukrainians have control of their own destiny is a risible nonsense that only a apologist for neo-fascism wouldn’t dismiss out-of-hand, andrew. The results of their elections have been repeatedly nullified by the CIA, with the co-operation of Ukrainian neo-Nazis. To support the current regime, in any way, is to assert the right of the USA to interfere in the internal politics of other nations by means of war, murder & corruption.
I assume you support this Imperialism, this American Exceptionalism, in all it’s racist totalitarianism? You Biden fanboys long-ago scraped your way right through the bottom of the barrel and are scraping away at the ordure underneath & the stink of Azov has become unbearable.

          2. Nigel

I’m sure Putin’s invading to restore Ukrainian self-determination, freedom and democracy. Is that why he’s shipping thousands of Ukrainians east?

          3. Duncan Wheeler

Stephens comment about ukrania acting on it’s own volition is provable nonsense. Have a look beyond your confirmational bias fo a moment and you’ll see nato/us grubby hands all over this. this filaso has been planned for years using tried and tested tactics that have worked before. Not so sure about this time though.
I hope NATO/US war cabal get trounced and have their collective bottoms spanked.

          1. Mad

I take it you won’t go and help them either Andrew? You’re just a big cheerleader for ritual sacrifice by the Ukrainians at the altar of NATO along with Bigmouth (Strikes Again) above?

          2. andrew

You’re quite right, I won’t – I don’t think I would be much use over there and I am a bit of a coward, truth be told. The barbarity of the Russian soldiers terrifies me. I am though doing what I can to help from London.

Tell me – on the same basis – I assume you do not live in a Western liberal democracy because, you know, that would be pretty hypocritical of you. Assume you live in North Korea or Russia or some other hole ruled with the iron fist of some crazed depot, right?

          3. andrew

            @Mad

How is it “game over”, you vapid tosspot – go on, answer the question: where do you live?

          4. anti bot

He lives in Tallaght but is from the UK. He also goes by the name of soq. he can’t answer any questions, is sexist, and supports qanon. He is the worst that the Internet has to offer.

          5. anti bot

see, same person. can’t reply other than name calling, qanon quotes. Why is it acceptable for Russia to invade a sovereign nation. Go on grow a pair and reply in a coherent fashion. I doubt you are capable of doing so.

      1. K.Cavan

It’s the exact opposite, actually, stephen. It’s a realistic statement, acknowledging the fact that, since it exited the USSR, Ukraine has been the playground of the CIA & that Ukrainians, when they asserted their vision for their country, had their independence smashed into tiny pieces by the US. The Ukrainians have had their ”individual & collective agency” wrested from their grasp by ”regime change” imposed by the USA.
Your failure to identify America as the ultimate power in Ukraine is, I assume, deliberate, you couldn’t actually be so stupid as to maintain that it’s a functioning democracy? As a neo-fascist, who probably thinks he’s not a neo-fascist, you have to maintain the fiction that the phone call between Nuland & Pyatt, which decided the make-up of the current regime, never happened, I suppose?
Nobody’s fooled by the denial of reality your comment encapsulates, it’s a jaded, lazy trope.

        1. Nigel

The idea that the US are the real power in Ukraine is pure Russian propaganda. Presumably that’s why the Russian soldiers got such a shock when the Ukrainians fought back.

    2. SOQ

It is not just Ukrainians- there is quite the ‘all sorts’ in there. The surrender deadline ended yesterday and according to the Russians- a lot of radio activity between the hole in the ground and Kiev, which is probable.

Also suggestions that the die hard Azov Nazis are in place to shoot anyone who tries to leave. If true then an internal battle is going to happen between the factions if anyone is to come out of it alive.

It’s only about four days since the usual spin merchants and propagandists on Broadsheet were dismissing this story as being fake- wrong again.

      1. Nigel

Everything in your comment is either speculation, supposition or rumour. Bit early to declare everyone else has been proven wrong.

          1. andrew

Understand it must be annoying when someone doesn’t let you spout unhindered your continuous flow of lies

          2. Vlad X. Novichok

            Sure thing murderQ/Mad/Caveman Cavan etc….

‘Tonight, Matthew, I’ll be Cucker Tarlson…’

          3. andrew

It’s on page 23 – subsection 9(ii) – of the Kremlin Online Supporters Group Handbook – when more than one point out your lies, accuse them of being the same person

          4. Vlad X. Novichok

Funny, in ‘The Tankie’s Guide to Putin’s Boner Snot’, it’s when the fallacies and whataboutary fail, play the victim then abuse your target with another avatar and then have all your avatars pile in.

            Silly little tankies.

        1. K.Cavan

All the accusations of Russian ”War Crimes” are speculation, supposition or rumour, Nigel yet you jumped up on that bandwagon, as soon as the MSM rolled it out.
More than one thousand Ukrainians surrendered, over the last couple of days, from Azovstal, all that remains is the Nazis & their NATO instructors, who’s fate was probably sealed, during those phonecalls.
I suspect their bodies will be dissolving in vats of acid, by now, they will remain MIA, forever.

          1. Nigel

Russian war crimes have been documented. Your whole thing is out of the internet fever swamp.

      1. NM

Commander of Ukraine’s 501st Battalion says he ‘doesn’t regret’ surrendering in Mariupol, admitting point blank:

“the local population was negatively disposed towards the Armed Forces of Ukraine”
        https://t.co/UqIIK3RTNd

          1. Nigel

Putin’s out to make all Ukrainians Russians, so technically correct, from an ethnic cleansing point of vew.

        1. scottser

That’s because he either has a gun pointed at his head, or another one of his soldiers gets a bullet if he doesn’t say what he’s told to.
Or do you think the Russians are feeding them burgers and beers and having the craic?

      2. K.Cavan

Yes, Nigel, I’m sure they are & I’m sure the Ukrainians are killing loads of Russians, stephen is probably still convinced they’re actually killing more. The Russians are doing so because they don’t want the existential threat of nuclear weapons, controlled by the only nation on earth who ever used them, on their border. The Ukrainians because, I suppose, they’re soldiers & maybe they hate Russians, especially those who live in the Russian half of their country.
Since both sides are killing each other, what’s the point of your rhetoric?

        1. Nigel

Ukraine doesn’t have a Russian half. Ukrainians are killing Russians because the Russians invaded. They probably don’t like invaders, especially ones who put civilians in mass graves.

          1. bisted

…so you’ve been to Ukraine Nigel…so have I…loved Crimea and my friends came from near Odessa…they spoke Russian as a first language but they were Ukrainian…they don’t understand why Russia has invaded…why don’t they confront NATO they ask…

      3. Duncan Wheeler

Amnesty and HRW are both thoroughly compromised organisations. Niggle sneers at others’ sources but would have us believe his sources are golden. You are a poster boy/girl for the term confomational bias. Constant feedback loop echo chamber appears to be your mind set. faux boy.

    3. Dinkum

It’s the civilian population that I really feel sorry for
A massacre on the way and it’s all over but zelensky will have them fight to the death
I have noticed no peace talks on going and the only one which showed signs of promise was in turkey
God bless the poor people of Ukraine

        1. Dinkum

He actually looks like he was on a coke bender
This man antagonised a monster then he orders his people to fight to death
He should just surrender and spare his people the misery of dying in the rubble of once beautiful cities
And NATO will keep supplying him with weapons of war to prolong the misery
A true leader will look after their peoples not drag them down the road of Armageddon

          1. Nigel

Yes, look at the how the Russian army treats civilians in areas they control, a true leader would just stand back and let that happen.

          2. SOQ

He is not nicknamed the comic puppet for nothing- it is quite obvious he is just a front- the coke head of Kiev had absolutely no political experience before being elected.

From a NATO perspective, especially the French, rather than be paraded in full view, it is probably better that the contents of that steel works are buried alive.

And that is the irony, the west would prefer they are killed, while the Russians would rather they surrender. But after eight failed helicopter missions and one by boat- there is definately someone of importance down there.

          3. andrew

“had absolutely no political experience before being elected”

Does the idiocy of you – a self-professed Trump fanboy – saying this not occur to you? Like really?

          4. Nigel

Yes he’s nicknamed that by people who support Putin’s invasion to denigrate and delegitimise him. I don’t think it’s working.

Still acting as if your speculations are factual. Nobody’s going to find the presence of NATO trainers/observers particularly scandalous, and the presence of a biolab there is pure fantasy.

          5. K.Cavan

Come on, Dinkum, Zelensky is only following orders. Eventually, the sooner the better, the military commanders, all well-trained in Soviet cadet-schools, will make the decision to surrender. Zelensky isn’t part of any decision-making processes in Ukraine, he’s solely for propaganda purposes, to create the fictional narrative for the sheep in The West too ooh & ahh & baa about.

          6. Nigel

On the very first day of the invasion you announced the war was already over. Your predictions are rubbish.

        1. Dinkum

Surrender and cut down the number of civilians that face the brutality of the Russian army
Maybe it’s time for cessation of violence and a UN GROUP TO BE SENT IN TO KEEP THE PEACE

          1. Nigel

Surrendering leaves civilians completely at the mercy of the brutality of the Russian army. That means rape and torture and mass graves and forced relocation.

The only person with the power to end the violence is Putin.

          2. K.Cavan

So, again, Nigel does his warmongering dance, demanding that Ukrainians die in an unwinnable war, to protect the right of the US & it’s Nazi allies to rule their country, based on the racist views presented by the scumbuckets in our media, that Russians are some sort of Untermensch.
You attempt to present as some sort of Liberal, Nigel, while you sink ever-deeper into a pit of warmongering Neo-Nazism & racist hatred.
Or maybe I’m mistaken & you’re merely a cynical shill for warmongering Neo-Nazism & racist hatred?

          3. Nigel

Ukrainians are dying because Putin invaded. To prevent Ukrainians from dying, Putin needs to stop invading. Putin, by the way, is a dictator intent on ethnically cleansing Ukraine.

  1. stephen moran

Bottom line is you cannot abide the idea of democracy or accept election results which contradicts your incredibly constricted worldview – I asked you to nominate one democracy that you actually admire or even tolerate the other day.. You’re just a stooge and lapdog apologist for the worst forms of totalitarian autocracies who sends days down some personal rabbit hole where freewill and choice never shine. Maybe book a holiday in the workers paradise of NK. Keep on rockin’ in the free world and have nice day on your biolabs treasure hunt . Sieg Heil as the rest of l know where the real genocidal Nazi’s are. When you only have one brain cell everything looks like an amoeba

    1. Dinkum

      Stephen
      To put my oar in
There is not one democracy on this planet that is a democracy
      They are just illusions
As for the likes of China Russia and others that are not democracies at least they are honest
There is no government on this earth that’s fit to die for
We just make do obey the law and pretend everything is a utopia
The only thing worth dying for is your loved ones
Meanwhile all the free world is busy supplying more weapons for more killing
The war in Ukraine should never of happened and before that war the rhetoric from the west was hardly conjusive to peace against a rabid animal

          1. andrew

            @Nigel

I have to say – I do admire how you with calm and ease dismiss these despicables one after the other

          2. Mad

Nigel is funny and intelligent on occasion andrew which is why he is somewhat tolerable, whereas …

          3. andrew

            @Madf

Ah, dear, you almost made a point there but you trailed off in meaningless ellipsis – about sums you up though, doesn’t it?

          4. Mad

You’re right andrew of course. I do need to take better cognisance of the fact that every thing has to be spelled out for the slow of learning amongst us….

        1. Dinkum

You do not poke a rabid animal then go to war with it
And Nigel wars are won before they are fought
To actually think Ukraine can take on the might of the Russian federation was total suicide unless zelenskys plan was to start WW3 by dragging in NATO

let’s face it this was heading down confrontation road when the far right staged it’s coup in median square Kiev
8 Years of civil war in the east and 25 thousand dead and then this

          1. Nigel

You don’t have to poke a rabid animal for it to attack you.

Ukraine hasn’t ‘taken on’ anything. Ukraine was invaded. Ukraine was expected to fall in three days.

The was no ‘far right coup.’ A president fled after popular unrest because he lost legitimacy.

The ‘civil war’ was started and funded and armed by Putin. You know, the rabid dog.

          2. anti bot

Dinkum, please explain why this is a war and not an invasion. please explain why it is acceptable for innocent people to be killed. None of you (probably the same sad person) has explained this question? Why? What are you afraid of? You’re on here 24/7

          3. anti bot

ah go go Dinkum/ soq / mad and your multiple aliases please explain why its acceptable to invade another smaller nation and murder innocent people. not one reply. You really are a despicable human being. Spouting shite online, posting nonsense but can’t ever reply to a simple question

      1. scottser

And yet David, your post would get you jail time in Russia.
This equivalence between us and autocratic governments is pathetic, risible and moronic.

        1. Dinkum

          Scottser
There would be no broadsheet in Russia
And if you think we have a democracy here just wait until you step out of line
Remember the Garda whistleblower a few years ago fitted up with phoney child abuse allegations
In all reality if you get like Julian assange you find you will be jailed for what you blew the whistle on
Democracy is an illusion in the west but a few steps behind what the Russian state tolerates

      2. Duncan Wheeler

Exactly. This is why our erstwhile rulers love patriotism and a flag to bang a drum under.
        Vive la revolution.

    2. Kali

Ukraine had democracy before the CIA backed coup. I assume you were up in arms about the maidan protesters not backing democracy. Or is it just when it suits you

      1. bisted

…wrong type of democracy…imagine a bunch of nazi thugs taking over the Capitol building then running the country…

        1. Nigel

Wrong type of revolution. If only the uprising had been in favour of being more corrupt and authoritarian like Russia, that would have been fine. Putin wouldn’t have had to resort to Nazi mercenaries in Donbas.

          1. bisted

…in fairness, the proud boys and klansmen didn’t charge a penny…they even had their own weapons…

        2. Dinkum

          Bisted
Depends on your view of democracy
          Look at America
A few oinks riot at Capitol Hill and that was an insurrection by trump neo Nazis as the democrats saw it
          Idiots as republicans saw them
But then when trump was in power we had no new wars
Not even over one year we have WW3 brewing under sleepy joe

          1. bisted

…if crooked Hillary had gotten her finger on the button it would all be over now…but she snatched defeat from the jaws of victory…a lot of people alive today that would have perished had the Democrats been returned…including us probably…

          2. anti bot

bisted, please enlighten us all what role Hillary has to play in the invasion of Ukraine? You posted it, tell us?

          3. Nigel

Yeah, if you’re still blaming Hilary because you’re worried putin might start world war three if he doesn’t get his way you’re in major avoidance.

    3. K.Cavan

You, stephen, are another who tries to present as a believer in Democracy, while expecting Ukrainians to die to prolong America’s three decades of Imperialist adventures & it’s right to decide that corrupt Oligarchs & Neo-Nazis continue to rule Ukraine. Those 30 years of US hegemony has been the most violent, bloodstained era since WW2 & any decent people should be praying for the pending collapse of an Empire that has so lost it’s way that it’s now persecuting it’s own population almost as much as the rest of the planet.
You dare to accuse those who oppose the machinations of the most violent, warlike & bloodthirsty Imperial Power the world has ever seen of being totalitarians?
You’re an utter joke, you little fascist tosser.

      1. Nigel

Ukrainians are dying because a corrupt dictators invaded and started killing them. More of them since he started the conflict in the so-called breakaway regions first.

      2. scottser

When the current hegemony falls, what do you think will replace it?
Russian/Chinese autocracy, that’s what. And you won’t get to spout your libertarian ideals under that crowd lad – there’ll be a spot in the Leitrim gulag just for you.

        1. SOQ

Is that not the whole point?

Russia’s main demand is that Ukraine commits to being independent from the two blocks. They want a buffer between Moscow and NATO, and have been very upfront about it- it is hardly a secret.

Why won’t the puppet clown agree? Because he is not allowed to- so it will happen by force.

          1. Nigel

Who says he’s not allowed to? Putin clearly has greater designs on Ukraine than a simple declaration of independence.

          2. anti bot

Ah go answer, is it acceptable for a larger country to invade a smaller nation and murder innocent people? Why can’t you answer a simple question? maybe it’s because you are thought less cretin?

  2. Mad

It’s good to see the younger members of the Firm get commandeered finally to make some foundering efforts to keep the show on the road. They’ve been literally operating the decrepit old bat over there like a stressed-out seamstress in a sweatshop now for way too long. It was clever as well to get around the issue of Harry’s security detail in the UK by offering it in Netherlands instead. I wonder how many million went into his wife’s personal shopping account for that one? Anyway lap it all up you hornless, gormless nation of actual goons, lead by a buffoon, while Zero fiddles, London Bridge burns.

Vaccination Leads to More COVID Deaths, Not Less – Dr. Peter McCullough

William Wallis: “So three times more people died of COVID after the vaccine than died before the vaccine?

Dr. McCullough: “That’s correct. So, there are now analyses… showing the more we vaccinate, the more COVID deaths we have. That’s shown in over 145 countries, so there is a relationship. Keep vaccinating hard; we’ll have more COVID deaths.”

        1. andrew

I try to maintain a charitable mindset but, yes, I find it hard not to feel hatred for you. You’re a despicable, nasty little liar, a devious and manipulative hypocrite

Are you just trying to be ironic. soq / mad are the worst bullies on here. Nick name calling, sexist pigs.

          3. andrew

I would not have much more regard for you either to be honest – but you’re more of a vapid non-entity who hides behind “LOL” and “Keep on gaslighting” etcetera without actually saying anything of note or substance, pottering around sniffing the backsides of SOQ, ETwatty and so on. I’ve wiped things of more significance than you off my show after a short stroll through the park.

          4. SOQ

That is so bilious it is actually quite funny- have you tried a liver cleanse? Of course these sorts wouldn’t say boo to a ghost in the real world.

Sweetheart- you wouldn’t know what a charitable mindset was if it walked up and peed against your leg- now take your rancorous toxicity somewhere else.

          5. K.Cavan

Ah, Andy lad, if you’re gonna abuse people at least have the sense not to make the descriptions fit you so accurately. You are indeed a vapid non-entity but unfortunately the vapour is noxious. You even insult poor Aunty Bot when he tries to ally with you, classy. I realise you may have had a lifetime of disappointment, wherein people failed repeatedly to realise that you were right on every subject but acting up here is not going to heal your hurt, you’re just stinking the place out with your puerile temper tantrums & adding to the number of people who know you’re a twat.
            Go away.
            Please.

          6. Duncan Wheeler

@ andrew. What an unpleasant comment. Go and say your sorry to SOQ. Tip, it’s a comment section. not real life, get a grip. I bet you practiced that last sentence.

      1. K.Cavan

You think you have superior knowledge about this subject, andrew? You’ve probably barely managed to glean some disinformation & fake science from your TV, yet, swaddled in total ignorance, you toss about phrases like ”far-right conspiracy”? How, exactly, do you establish veracity when you’re as dumb as a bucket of hair on the subject in question?
You haven’t a clue about Virology, yet you consider yourself knowledgeable enough to insult those who do?
What an oinking little System Piggy you are.

Question for the lovely ladies on here.
The Irish Times through the NYT article they re-publish reckon that sexy lingerie for men is shaking things up in the bedroom
Apparently a cultural shift is inspiring some men to wear more effeminate undergarments.
    I dunno about this.
I just showed the article to Lady TenPin before she got out of bed to arrange my breakfast and she said words to the effect of Fupp Right Off – to the article that is not to the idea of fixing up some vittles.
    And I agree.
Lady T has been getting the horn looking at me in my Union Jack boxers for so long now it seems pointless to change.
And I’m not sure some lacy mesh thong thing could even adequately corrall the rampant wild beast within.
    Whaddya reckon gals ?

Dead between the eyes fake Brit ideologue craves attention desperately from two upper middle class yummy mummies (and V) on fake pretend controversial blog site.

      1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

Am I upper middle class now ? Takes a long hard look in the mirror. I’ll take the yummy, how embarrassing if I’m not the yummy mummy !

        1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

and that’s a no to lacy knicks, simple correctly fitting monochrome boxers please

          1. Mad

            Interesting

My finger is well and truly on the Irish lady pulse then in that case, because as luck would have it, Ms Mad and I were also mulling over this article during our hard boiled eggs this morning … anyways I was firmly of the same mindset as you there Janet. Ms Mad playfully suggested the tutu however….

          2. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

maybe if the Irish ladies had better raw materials to start they wouldn’t try and Dickie it up or maybe demeaning the lads turns them on….ducks…fight ! ;)

          3. Paulus

My man-parts I need not adorn.
I’ll parade like the day I was born:
Plus, a fringe or a pelmet
            Concealing my helmet
Would leave all the ladies forlorn.

          4. Mad

            Look Janet it’s like this.
Please don’t diss the table d’hôte if you haven’t even sampled the chef’s special.

          5. TenPin Terry

News update – Lady T who, it has to be said, is three sheets to the wind has just enquired whether I still have the leather gourd.
Now let me tell you this is a codpiece of epic proportions.
It has seen boudoir battles on three continents – women literally fighting each other for the privilege of unbridling the dogs of war.
Years ago in order to maintain it in peak condition I used to use dubbin.
The smell was iffy but it left the gubbins super comfortable to cup the meat and two veg.
Over time it developed that warm patina of a much-loved leather armchair.
I’d bring it out on special occasions. Lady T’s 30th birthday was a memorable experience even if Arthur – for that is what I named it – sustained significant damage in the brouhaha.
It’s a much-loved friend that has withstood the slings and arrows of carnal combat over the years.
I even had the wider part of it – the nutsack if you will – embossed with the legend ” It’s Showtime baby ” a while back.
To get a request to unleash the beast on a bank holiday is unusual.
This can only mean one thing.
            Action stations.
I may be gone for a while.
            Yabbadabbadooo.

          6. Mad

            Super Paulus.

Though some yearn to put my balls
In a bag: nature calls, I must resist this
time, my hag. Leave my nads alone,
they don’t need a mesh throne,
I don’t cry, though your tits sag.

          7. K.Cavan

I think Paulus fingered the spot, there. Look good naked. It doesn’t go amiss to smell good naked, either.

          1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

exactly, fellas don’t need to jump through hoops to please after all….

      1. Mad

        Good link, thanks Micko
Some of those options would provide ample opportunity for your missus to ogle your “big balls” though, just saying

    2. Dinkum

I brlieve Victoria secrets are developing a new line of mens lingerie

BBC-NI Found in Breach of BBC Editorial Standards

The BBC in Northern Ireland have long acted as a PR machine for the Department of Health in their COVID-19 messaging. That messaging has mostly been little more than scaremongering and coercive in nature.

In this report we look at how the BBC-NI helped propagate lies from a Doctor without verifying the doctor’s claims or attaching a disclaimer to their broadcasts. After abandoning our complaints we were forced to circumvent them and go directly to the ECU who ruled in our favour.

    https://citizenjournos.com/2022/04/14/bbc-ni-found-in-breach-of-bbc-editorial-standards/

    1. GiggidyGoo

Surprise, surprise – no pile-on (yet – give it time to prepare some phrases).
We have our own, ahem, experts down south in much the same vein.

        1. SOQ

That Nolan was involved is shocking- he being of such high journalistic standards I mean.

Like, running around a petrol station forecourt after someone not wearing a mask. I use the descriptor ‘running’ very loosely of course, more waddling- and only one half lap.

Nolan typifies a type of ‘special’ who appeared during the pandemic, the sort who demanded that everyone ELSE look after their health.

Meanwhile he was busy posting pictures of himself on Twitter in Donegal, tackling mounds of pancakes swimming in syrup for breakfast.

          1. K.Cavan

The lad he was chasing around the forecourt should’ve just kept going, staying slightly ahead of the mound of unsightly lard, until it dropped, wheezing, to the ground.
Nolan, upon finding out that obesity was the most common indicator for serious Sars02 infection, clearly decided that everyone else taking toxic gene therapy injections was a preferable option to him simply not eating all the pies, again. At least he won’t be around for too much longer, what with that pancake habit of his.
What a charmless man, I thought fatties were supposed to be jolly.
The BBC, like Nolan, needs to be put on a strict diet.

        2. anti bot

Sad. you’re the same person. You talk the same shite on here. You are on 24 hours a day. You give everyone who doesn’t agree with a nick name. You’re sexist. You can’t answer a question. Explain why it is acceptable for a country to invade another and kill innocent people? its probably because you’re from the UK and invasion is in your genes

          1. SOQ

Oh look- the yapping terrier is back- demanding answers to questions even he doesn’t even remember asking. I am sexist now is it? That’s a new one- enlighten me- how?

Or is it just the case that you have an insistent need to get attention by hurling abuse at other people? We really should start charging for the therapy sessions.

          2. Mad

The funniest thing is he thinks you are me and vice versa, I don’t know which of us should feel more insulted! :)

          3. Duncan Wheeler

Another warm, friendly and witty comment from that master bator and subtle enquirer with no racist overtones (UK hater) at all at all.

  6. SOQ

Given that the board of Twitter own next to no shares within the company- questions are being asked as to why they are so against Elon Musk’s attempted takeover- and if they really are protecting the shareholders interests.

    Jack’s Magic Coffee Shop

The only way Twitter, with 217 million users, could exist as a viable platform is if they had access to tech systems of incredible scale and performance, and those systems were essentially free or very cheap.

The only entity that could possibly provide that level of capacity and scale is the United States Government – combined with a bottomless bank account. A public-private partnership.

    1. stephen moran

It’s irrelevant as he doesn’t have the money – as I explained before he’s about $40bn light – if he was serious he would have gone down the route of a tender offer to bypass the board – but he didn’t because he has no funding (which he would have had to detail if going down that route) – Any bank lending him $40bn against his Tesla stock as collateral which is trading off a P/E multiple of 150 would be La La Land Anglo Irish circa 2005 certifiable (given the Nasdaq average is about 31 times earnings) – what he’s done is to put Twitter in play – the poison pill is to ward off other serious suitors.

      1. SOQ

That a board may be actively working against the interests of it’s share holders is very relevant- why?

        1. stephen moran

Because you can do a 2 tier tender and the shareholders get raped – you buy 51% in tier 1 and then force the remaining to sell you the rest at a steep discount with the ok of the board whom you have replaced – so you pay $54.10 for 51% and then say $30 for the 49% for the balance in a merger – shareholders get stuffed – boards have a fiduciary responsibility to protect shareholders from this sort of thing i.e. this is jus one example
Plus the bid was too low anyway – stock has traded over $60 late last year.

          1. Mad

Are there not these kinds of lads in the gay world as well SOQ?
Basically all talk but nothing downstairs?

Intelligent and balanced read on the possible spillover of the current conflict du jour into the mineral rich Artic Region by “Pippa” Malmgren (who is always worth a read and subscribing to for her free weekly scribblings on geo-politics) –

Nobody actually seriously believes this current operation will even encompass the whole of the current territory of Ukraine. Idle speculation is, I suppose, the only outlet journalists now have for their airhead opinions, when strict adherence to idiotic orthodoxy is required to extract a meagre living out of the Legacy Media. This operation will not spill over into the attic, never mind the Arctic.

          1. K.Cavan

He’s not even bothering to actually express his own, uninteresting, opinions now, just wallpapering the thread with links that nobody will click on. Sometimes, as Prince declared on his cover of ”Betcha By Golly Wow”, ”every just so often, the words of another, who’s truly in love, seem to work out fine” but this ain’t one of those times.

    1. Fearganainm

Are you both trying to pretend that you’re influential, esteemed members of some kind of ‘community’ here?

Regulars, like? Lads who set the agenda?

A couple of half-witted perverts is all that the pair of you are, as thick as poundies.

  8. Tarfton Clax

Yup. Newspaper Comments still a horror pit of hatred, insults and noone listening to /reading anyone else. Just checked the last two days of this site. … Sic Transit Gloria Mundi.

The sun is shining. Get some fresh air people. walk your dog.

    1. K.Cavan

That is hilariously ironic, from a man who’s belief system extols the idea that because certain races are, for example, not very talented at Maths, therefore nobody should be taught it, a belief system that has reintroduced political censorship & demands deplatforming, safe spaces & rigid adherence to dogma passed down from Oligarchs, that demands the same representation at all levels of society, the economy & political life, for people who are useless as for those with actual talent, denies scientific fact as it relates to sex & gender & at it’s ultimate pseudo-philosophical level, insists there is no such thing as Truth.
Get out of it, Nigel, you’re a chancer & nobody’s buying your snake oil.
Somebody give this sad man some straws, he’s grasping.

      1. Nigel

No shortage of straw in your comment. I don’t for example, think maths ability derives from race. What a FASCINATING belief. The rest of your unintelligible farrrago is just a collection of right-wing talking points used to avoid dealing with real problems and disguise their own authoritarianism. As the stories linked illustrate.

  9. TenPin Terry

I spent most of today in a hot and sunny field.
A pal of mine makes scrumpy cider.
And he had a few chums around today for a hog roast.
So I’m full to the cap badge with rhubarb cider and stuffed with pork and pork crackling.
And now there’s a veritable avalanche of soft drugs being produced from the pockets of guests keen to repay the host’s generosity.
It’s going to be a long night I vouchsafe.
Here’s hoping Vlad the Cad doesn’t spring a new offensive tonight to catch us all unawares.
By Jove that would be a stinker and a half.

      1. stephen moran

Well there a few chaps on here who’ve been regularly peddling links to this rabbit hole of QAnon BS.
Maybe we should ask them their opinion on the Sandy Hook massacre and to confirm how many million votes Biden won by………

    1. Nigel

That’s bot a ruling on whether masks work or not. It’s a limit on government’s ability to protect public health. You’re walking backwards into hell singing hallelujah.

      1. K.Cavan

Masks don’t protect public health, Nigel, they’re a psychological construct designed to remind the gullible, who are usually also quite forgetful & stupid, that there was a fake pandemic in progress. Masks are for idiots & uglies, although by shortening their lifespans & reducing their chance of reproduction, they do contribute, in a small way, to the general well-being & health of the species. Stick to your guns, Nigel, never remove yours.

      2. SOQ

It is a ruling which makes mask mandates on airplanes, buses, trains and other modes of public transportation illegal- what part of ILLEGAL do you not understand?

        1. Nigel

What part of right wing removal of government power to protect public health don’t you understand?

          1. hmmm

Potato is a fascist who thinks he has the power to interfere with other peoples’ breathing – In a sane world that’s called assault.
