It amazing to still see the odd person walking down an empty road or driving in their car alone with the mask on. I watched one woman walk into Tesco and sanitize her disposable gloves yesterday.
These people have been damaged beyond repair.
Tom J
Maybe they have underlying conditions and their GDPR would be none of our business.
E'Matty
What have underlying conditions got to do with mask wearing or sanitising disposable gloves Tom? Even the mask advocates claimed it was to stop the wearer spreading the virus. Even they don’t claim that they protect the wearer themselves. As for sanitising disposable gloves, yeah, mindless idiocy. They’re your gang Tom. The dribblers and low IQ fearful types.
Nigel
‘The dribblers and low IQ fearful types.’
One thing that has always shone out from those who are ideologically opposed to any measures to protect people’s health is their compassion and empathy.

More than E’Matty displayed in his comment, I hope, or anyone who depicted worries about covid or efforts to protect health as cowardly, or stupid, or linked to mental health problems, but that’s a low bar.

Even if it’s a low bar you still undercut it by a yard.
Niggle, the samba-dancer in the empathy stakes!
Tom J
Ok Garry, what ever you say.
Tom J
If you ever end up with an underlying condition, then you’ll have some idea what those people are feeling.
Darrens
Calling into question levels of intelligence is a dumb foopin pillar to lean against… if ur best stance is to throw shade on others then there’s no use in you.. politics asside it seems odd that anyone would question the benefits offered to wearers of a mask but I’m someone who spent some time hospitalised in quarantine many years ago and remember that nobody entered the room unless they wore gloves and a mask. So of course I also appreciate the emotional impact of seeing faces covered in this way as it highlights that something is not right. But perhaps that is still the most sensible position to adopt. Least of all is it the business of anyone else to judge another’s choice on the basis that it might undermine the rationale of their own.
K.Cavan
The thing is, Darrens, the only rationale for wearing a mask is scientific evidence of their usefulness & the facts have never supported their functionality in preventing viral transmission. Without any scientific reason, we’re back to Kali’s conclusion, that these people have been, unsurprisingly, psychologically damaged by the campaign of terror, driven by governments & institutions undermined & subverted by Oligarchical control, which was instigated in lieu of a rational, health-driven, evidence-based response to Sas02, in order to drive people to offer themselves up as lab rats for a therapy that would’ve been experimental except that it had already failed in the lab.
While claiming victimhood is a genuine modern pandemic, it does people no good to assume that there’s some, unknown, ”underlying condition” that might be helped in any way by wearing a paper mask. To be honest, I can’t think of any & I noticed there are no suggestions as to what they might be.
On the other hand, there are some quite serious detrimental effects, which are inevitable from inhaling plastic into your lungs & wearing a bacteria-laden rag on your face, beyond the obvious fact that most people might think you mentally ill.
Annie14Tennis
That’s some stupid post Tom J.
Tom J
You know what a space bar is then.
Nigel
Ah yes, evidence-based, builds his argument around an unfalsfiable counter-factual. Oddly enough, the same people who made decisions on mask mandates and lockdowns deciding that they were not necessary at this time and being proven right goes towards their credibility, not yours.
f_lawless
That’s the kind of fallacious stance someone with a cult-like faith in masks might adopt. The claim that’s been made is that masks are an effective way to control the spread of respiratory viruses in the community. The burden of proof is of course on those who are making this claim – not for those asking for the evidence. And when one takes into account all the available real-world data, both pre-Covid and post 2020, the conclusion is surely a resounding no, the evidence isn’t there that masks are effective in that way.
It’s those who are convinced the masks are effective at controlling community spread, despite the overwhelming lack of evidence, who have fallen foul to an unfalsifiable belief system –
Cases go down:
it proves the masks are working.
Cases go up:
it proves we’re not masking hard enough.
Cases go down and no one’s wearing masks:
it just proves masks weren’t needed on this particular occasion.
Cases rise and fall in a synchronised fashion in places (such as bordering US states) both with, and without mask mandates:
it’s just an amazing set of coincidences with some nebulous explanation where masks played a decisive role
Nigel
It’s not weird that the culture war decided that wearing masks to reduce the spread of an airborne respiratory disease should become a dumb emblem of liberty and opposition to public health, there’s been dumber, what’s weird is so many fell for it.
Chris
It has nothing to do with culture – it’s science and the shocking lack of such – gullibly accepted by Covidian’s such as yourself.
Nigel
One can argue about science, about different studies and degrees of effectiveness. You lot took a hard-line stance that is purely ideological, and it came from a right wing culture war opposition to public health measures.
Chris
I took a hard line position against mandates for an experimental injection still in trials. My position was pro public health.
Your position as ever is cloying deceitfulness.
hmmm
Inanity – thy name is Potato.
Nigel
You wanted to prevent the distribution of medicine during a pandemic, prevent the designated government powers from taking actions to preserve public health, promulgated conspiracy theories to undermine public trust – you are far down the rabbit hole of a modern right-wing power-grab.
K.Cavan
Coronaviruses, Nigel are only airborne when they exit the respiratory system, they are not normally inhaled, that particular evolutionary adaptation is the realm of Rhinoviruses. Most Coronavirus infections are picked up from non-porous surfaces and infection occurs by their introduction to the mucus membrane in the eye.
You take the junk science, half-truths & lies of the MSM, an utterly corrupt institution that promulgates absolute garbage like the idea that people can be ”born in the wrong body” & claim it as actual scientific fact.
The Argumentum ad populum is typical of the fallacious arguments you rely on to insult our intelligence.
Mad
Very interesting thank you f_lawless
Now, would you like to respond to the actual multiple sources presented by the article Nigel?
No, thought not
*inserts some contrary culture war waffle
One thing that really struck me F_lawless is that mask-wearing quickly acquired a social construct.
I conducted a little experiment on this myself and I found that authoritarian bullying minded people ( ( and the easily led) tended to resolve around the central tenet of the mask wearing ideology- namely ‘thou shalt not unmask’. Yet it was obvious to me that reducing contact with people in general was the only way to mitigate the spread of the virus. And well you can’t do that forever. Anyway … in my experience what happened then was that the mask-wearers quickly foamed at the mouth when a heretic came into their midst – just like any old school religion. People then came to defend the heterodoxy as a necessary evil- even those who were ostensibly reasonable most of the time. For me personally I have to say I didn’t mind wearing a mask if it made people feel more comfortable around me but it did sadden to me to see people being so fearful.
Nigel
Yeah, that sounds even MORE scientific.
Tom J
Social Constructs
Society, Law, Economics, Languages, Concepts, Culture, Literature, Music, Entertainment, Art, Architecture, Traditions, Fashions, Communications, Technology, Roles, Norms, Emotions, Human Behaviour.
All social Constructs.
K.Cavan
It was all ritualistic. Mad. There was never any way of stopping a Coronavirus, once you have the first case in any country, it was always going to mutate, as every other Coronavirus did, into an infectious but mild variant which would have advantages that Nature would select for & no vaccine is possible for an RNA virus, because of this mutagenic property. Virions are too small to be stopped by anything that will allow unhindered breathing & direct contact between people had little effect on transmission.
The vulnerable should’ve been protected, while the rest relied on their immune systems, which overcame all previous Coronaviruses, as well as the cheap, effective anti-viral drugs that were available & approved, until the final mutation emerged, as was stipulated in the pandemic plans drawn up by multiple nations, on the urging of the WHO, in around 2012.
Instead, those plans were discarded & something entirely different happened & it was not driven by Science but by power, money, privilege & Eugenics, if not outright psychopathy.
Mad
While it’s appreciated that you both finally tried to engage in a debate you didn’t engage with either of the central points f_lawless or I made – a the apparent lack of evidence for the efficacy of mask wearing or b the invoking of tribalism to make people feel coerced into adopting a new model of behaviour of questionable efficacy

These mercenaries are nothing more than psychos that find a good war allows them to kill with impunity
They deserve what they get as that war has nothing to do with them it is not their country but nothing less than legalised murder
SOQ
There is difference between those blood hungry mercenaries and the gullible who were actively encouraged to become cannon fodder by Britain’s Liz Truss- which was either a very stupid or a very sinister thing to do. Johnson is saying not to go now of course.
The only rationale I can think of was it was a game by numbers to cover up the activities of those already there.
They are screwed either way because it is highly unlikely that they will be afforded any prisoner of war rights under the Geneva convention- which means the Russians can do whatever they want with them.
scottser
Russia employs thousands of chechen and Belarusian mercenaries. You’d do well to acknowledge that for balance.
SOQ
Mercenaries yes but I very much doubt Russia encouraged young men with no army let alone wartime experience to head off and be butchered- which is exactly what Liz Truss done.
Ethics aside- they would have been more of a hindrance than a help.
Nigel
Doesn’t that pretty much describe the bulk of troops Russia sent to Ukraine?
K.Cavan
Chechnya is in Russia, scottser, you didn’t know this? Belarus is allied to Russia. To call their troops mercenaries & compare them to the actual mercenaries acting as cannon-fodder & propaganda for a bunch of Ukrainian gangsters & American spooks, when they’re inevitably killed, is simply factually incorrect.
Anyone who heeds anything that idiot Truss says should only be mourned as suicides.
Dinkum
Sadly for us in life we have those who want to kill and what better for one of them is instead of wandering around killing some unfortunate they can head off and sate their appetite
When they arrive to the killing ground they are considered hero’s by the locals applauded and go to work getting their jollies
Unfortunately for them when they are now caught they face a rather vile end
It goes for either side
I assume the Russians also have their version of homocidal mercenaries as well that also if caught face the same fate
On the good side maybe the streets are safer when they head off on their club 20s 30s package holiday tours for scum bags

An intergovernmental task force is currently working on modalities for the revision of the treaties between the WHO and the member states.
The treaty changes aim to give the WHO de facto governing power over its member states in the event of a pandemic, without involvement or consultation with national governments or national parliaments.
In order to be able to shed light on these sinister plans, I already submitted several inquiries on this subject to the EU Commission a few weeks ago. Soon the deadline for a statement will expire. So we can be curious about the upcoming answers…
“The World Health Organization (WHO) has proposed a global pandemic agreement that will give it undemocratic rights over sovereign people. WHO has quietly opened the floor for comments on the agreement but has provided little time to do so ahead of the first round of hearings scheduled for April 12 and 13. The WHO does not ask the people of the world whether or not they believe a global agreement is necessary. Instead, the organization has decided for itself that this measure is warranted and is asking for input on what people believe should be included in it. https://worldcouncilforhealth.org/news/2022/04/stopthetreaty-comment-who-pandemic-treaty/66422/

Today is the Christian holiday of Easter Sunday, the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead three days after his crucifixion. Easter is a moveable feast; in other words, it’s one of the few floating holidays in the calendar year because it’s based on the cycles of the moon. Jesus was said to have risen from the dead on the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring. For that reason, Easter can fall as early as March 22nd and as late as April 25th. Easter also marks the end of the 40-day period of Lent and the beginning of Eastertide; the week before Easter is known as Holy Week and includes the religious holidays Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
The word “Easter” and most of the secular celebrations of the holiday come from pagan traditions. Anglo Saxons worshipped Eostre, the goddess of springtime and the return of the sun after the long winter. According to legend, Eostre once saved a bird whose wings had frozen during the winter by turning it into a rabbit. Because the rabbit had once been a bird, it could still lay eggs, and that rabbit became our Easter Bunny. Eggs were a symbol of fertility in part because they used to be so scarce during the winter. There are records of people giving each other decorated eggs at Easter as far back as the 11th century.
So now

Ol’ Lukey has a weekly slot on NT radio now, so at least some of the FG Trinity *cohort* are still lapping up taxpayers cash, food, heating etc., while the Holohan’s of the world are licking their wounds with the sniff* of honorary robes of pandemic* power.
*Academics Without Borders Or Any Sense At All.
It amazing to still see the odd person walking down an empty road or driving in their car alone with the mask on. I watched one woman walk into Tesco and sanitize her disposable gloves yesterday.
These people have been damaged beyond repair.
Maybe they have underlying conditions and their GDPR would be none of our business.
‘The dribblers and low IQ fearful types.’
One thing that has always shone out from those who are ideologically opposed to any measures to protect people’s health is their compassion and empathy.
@niggle
Are you suggesting that the likes of yourself are full of empathy and compassion?
Let me tell you, if you are it certainly never shines through.
Ok Garry, what ever you say.
If you ever end up with an underlying condition, then you’ll have some idea what those people are feeling.
That’s some stupid post Tom J.
You know what a space bar is then.
Ah yes, evidence-based, builds his argument around an unfalsfiable counter-factual. Oddly enough, the same people who made decisions on mask mandates and lockdowns deciding that they were not necessary at this time and being proven right goes towards their credibility, not yours.
Here’s a handy summary:
https://swprs.org/face-masks-evidence/
It’s not weird that the culture war decided that wearing masks to reduce the spread of an airborne respiratory disease should become a dumb emblem of liberty and opposition to public health, there’s been dumber, what’s weird is so many fell for it.
It has nothing to do with culture – it’s science and the shocking lack of such – gullibly accepted by Covidian’s such as yourself.
One can argue about science, about different studies and degrees of effectiveness. You lot took a hard-line stance that is purely ideological, and it came from a right wing culture war opposition to public health measures.
I took a hard line position against mandates for an experimental injection still in trials. My position was pro public health.
Your position as ever is cloying deceitfulness.
Inanity – thy name is Potato.
You wanted to prevent the distribution of medicine during a pandemic, prevent the designated government powers from taking actions to preserve public health, promulgated conspiracy theories to undermine public trust – you are far down the rabbit hole of a modern right-wing power-grab.
Yeah, that sounds even MORE scientific.
Social Constructs
Society, Law, Economics, Languages, Concepts, Culture, Literature, Music, Entertainment, Art, Architecture, Traditions, Fashions, Communications, Technology, Roles, Norms, Emotions, Human Behaviour.
All social Constructs.
Irish Mail: ‘Make Huge Savings On Your Taxes’…
Is Bill Tyson related to Alanis Morissette?
… speaking of taxes, children’s hospital costs out of control?
Well, I never would’ve thought it!
How dare popular attractive couple upstage an old decrepit paedo-pandering hag?
Mad, are you referring to the guy that hobnobbed with royals etc, who had everyone completely fooled about what he was?
Except Irvine Welsh, who wrote a book portraying him. Under a different name, of course, but immediately recognisable to this writer.
And meantime they promote a different royal, one whose name hasn’t been linked to predatory sexual habits.
I actually was referring to Randy Andy but your point also stands
Good to see Aidan Aslin make the front pages.
Might deter other simple minded mercenaries “having a go” god bless the poor demented craythurs
He’s not a mercenary, he’s a proper Ukrainian regular. Has a Ukrainian missis and has been living there for years. He has skin on the game, in fairness.
Ah now here Scottser it’s not his country though is it?
What he does for a living is his own affair but then don’t have your family come on Sky News etc claiming he is some kind of victim. Typical English hypocrisy, whining and double standards.
Well if he and his families live in the country, and it’s invaded by a neighbouring state, they are the victims, and him joining up to defend his adopted home was a brave thing to do.
A lot braver than the likes of you nit picking endlessly at windmills on a keyboard! I’ll give you that, Nigel!
A lot braver than someone who mostly posts insults about others.
Ah would you look!
Bless his heart!
The poor craythur just has to have the last word
Go on so
Well, the British TV stations are currently appealing for donations to help children in Yemen, while British-made munitions are fueling the war that has caused these same children to be malnourished. Hyper-hypocrisy.
These mercenaries are nothing more than psychos that find a good war allows them to kill with impunity
They deserve what they get as that war has nothing to do with them it is not their country but nothing less than legalised murder
Russia employs thousands of chechen and Belarusian mercenaries. You’d do well to acknowledge that for balance.
Mercenaries yes but I very much doubt Russia encouraged young men with no army let alone wartime experience to head off and be butchered- which is exactly what Liz Truss done.
Ethics aside- they would have been more of a hindrance than a help.
Doesn’t that pretty much describe the bulk of troops Russia sent to Ukraine?
Chechnya is in Russia, scottser, you didn’t know this? Belarus is allied to Russia. To call their troops mercenaries & compare them to the actual mercenaries acting as cannon-fodder & propaganda for a bunch of Ukrainian gangsters & American spooks, when they’re inevitably killed, is simply factually incorrect.
Anyone who heeds anything that idiot Truss says should only be mourned as suicides.
Fascinating

Good to see the story about Canada training the Ukrainian Nazis getting some traction- as it should. Turns out the Nazis were trained IN Canada, which is even worse. Did they not do any background checks on them at all? Actually, they probably did- then gave them céad míle fáilte.
As I said- right from the second world war, Canada has had a certain affinity with the Nazis- which may somewhat explain the recent behaviour of the Trudeau government.

That the Government of Canada, Air Canada and two major Canadian airports have partnered with the World Economic Forum (WEF) on a digital ID project that could see a social credit-like system be required for travelling- is mere conindence of course.

Far be it from me to defend The Mail as it is a straight down the line propaganda outfit- just yesterday they had ELEVEN positive spin stories on Harry and Megan for example- but in this case, I would be pretty certain that they have the emails they claim.
The book of knowledge Wikipedia! lolz
It’s kind of a snobby thing to sneer at the The Daily Mail. It can get a lot right as they have reporters all over the place and reporting can be pretty accurate on live events.
It’s a fupn rag.
Meanwhile, the founder of Wikipedia denounces it as now mostly edited & altered by progressive wokists, who have little affinity for the truth & are driven by fanaticism.

‘ One person was responsible for nine in 10 of all complaints about noise from aircraft using Dublin Airport last year.
The complainant lodged 12,272 complaints during 2021 with DAA at an average rate of 34 cases daily, the airport operator said.
It is almost double the 6,227 complaints the same individual filed in 2020.’
The very definition of obsession.
Respect.
I reckon that person is soq. Spends his time moaning about shxte, Covid, murder of innocent people, even Hunter Biden, the rest is phoning Dublin Airport 50 times a day. That’s why he can’t answer a simple question on here. Can he explain why it is acceptable to invade a sovereign country? Ah go on. Should we call you Donald or the dunce son Eric?
8 years of Kiev shelling Russian speaking Ukrainians in the Donbass.
Moron.
8 years of Putin funding and arming a deadly conflict in a neighbouring state with his loyal Nazi mercenaries.
26000 dead Russian speaking Ukrainians, shelled for 8 years from Kiev, are not from Putin.
Putin started that conflict, all on him.
That conflict started when the US EU backed a violent coup in Kiev and selected actual open Nazis to form the government. Do keep up Nige.
Everything you just said is a lie, pro-Russian propaganda.
Nigel’s lying again.
You spend weeks insulting people then get offended when they don’t answer you- well duh!
Have you considered the fact that there might be a cause and effect in action? Probably not.
Another despicable, low-rent, negative scumbag going out of their way to pick on a fellow commenter.
go on Soq / Mad, is it okay to invade a sovereign nation and kill innocent people? Simple question.
It certainly isn’t.
Now who invaded Iraq (twice), Syria, Afghanistan, Korea, Vietnam, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, USSR/Russia?
Who promoted coups d’etat in Guatemala, Iran, Bolivia, Chile, Venezuela (twice).
And that’s just for starters.
‘And that’s just for starters.’
Well, yeah, you’ve barely touched on the stuff Russia gets up to.

I said it weeks ago ago that you would attack Biden. here we go, today, youu go after Hunter Biden. Go on the sexist pig, is it okay for Russia to attack a sovereign nation? I know you are not Irish and probably have a UK mentality of invading other countries, but surely you’re not Boris and can answer a simple question?
ah go on answer. Why is it acceptable to invade a sovereign country and kill innocent people? What are you afraid of? What’s my new nick name, whilst people are being murdered? Show us another post from tictok

@ Annie fourteen, I don’t come that often, but when I do it’s good and plentiful.
Kind regards,
Yours, Christine Anderson, MEP (AfD)

“The World Health Organization (WHO) has proposed a global pandemic agreement that will give it undemocratic rights over sovereign people. WHO has quietly opened the floor for comments on the agreement but has provided little time to do so ahead of the first round of hearings scheduled for April 12 and 13. The WHO does not ask the people of the world whether or not they believe a global agreement is necessary. Instead, the organization has decided for itself that this measure is warranted and is asking for input on what people believe should be included in it.

You would think that given the number of times they have changed their minds during the pandemic- that they have a bit more humility, but clearly not.
Even Fauci has now admitted that lockdowns and passports were just to coerce people into taking the experimental gene therapies- but sure anyone with half a brain knew that all along.
So what’s it like having half a brain then.

So now
Thanks David ;)
