Brad To Worse

at

Last night.

Seattle, USA.

Meanwhile…

“I am very pleased that the garda investigation is now over. It was a very long and thorough one and at the end of it, there was no recommendation that there should be any charges,” he said.

“The matter is now with the DPP and we await a decision.

“The allegations made against me were false, they were politically motivated.

“I did not commit any crime, I did not do anything corrupt, in fact I did not do anything self-interested and when this is over I think that will be clear to any reasonable person.”

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar yesterday.

Any excuse.

Leaking government documents is a criminal act
Maybe after the FBI of finally nailing the kinehan gang a feat our gardai could not achieve
I would get them to do a wiki leaks job on Varadkar
I reckon his leaks should be called dickaleaks and please extridite him

Look at the happy Google lot
And in 2019 it was revealed Google used Ireland to channel €45 billion of world wide takings to take advantage of the double Irish
Nice bit of tax dodging in my book especially as we are all screwed by the taxman
      No wonder they are smirking
Last year they made a tax settlement of €264 million
No doubt the tax on €45 billion laundered through our state

“The allegations made against me were false”

Did I miss something here? Didn’t Leo incriminate himself by his own admission that he leaked the details of private government negotiations to his buddy?

And the Gardai recommend no charges? For breaking the law? That bit sounds politically motivated alright. They lost all credibility as a policing force – one rule for the maskless, another for the putative Taoiseach

he probably shouldn’t have signed the Official Secrets Act when he came into office then.

also, did the Gardai recommend no charges? Didn’t they just submit their findings to the DPP and that was that?

Funny he didn’t sue village.ie for defamation.
The opinions of lawyers given in village.ie are opinions I’d take more notice of that yours Cian.

Boris stated partygate wasn’t against the law either (laws he wrote), right up until he got slapped with the fine.

‘……I think that will be clear to any reasonable person.”’
There you go. Varadkar basically telling the DPP that if the case is pursued in the courts, the DPP is not a reasonable person. In other words, trying to have the case dropped.

The DPP is in a position now the bring such actions of Members of the Dail, now and in the future, under a legal opinion. If the decision is not to prosecute, then that leaves the door wide open for similar, if not worse, actions by Ministers.

That’s the potential consequences of having a person like Varadkar in any position of authority.

      Giggly
I suppose he is thinking of the revolving tea shock which he might miss if this trial is hanging over him and I think this bars him from being teach
      They want to bury it
So it’s time to ensure he dose not get away with it and end up revolving away
He really is a big fat failure and showed contempt for our laws

And the Gardai recommend no charges?
The Gardaí didn’t recommend anything; this is actually quite common for the Gardaí, let the DPP decide.

The facts of this case are:
Leo leaked the document to Maitiú Ó Tuathail. He has admitted this.
Maitiú Ó Tuathail is his friend, he has also admitted this.

The document gave the National Association of General Practitioners, of which O Tuathail was president, full details of a pay agreement that the IMO (NAGPs rival) had reached with government.

At the time, the document was confidential and the NAGP were involved in serious financial irregularities, knowing what deal their rival struck with the government would have helped them immensely.

I’d be very concerned that a leading member of government is commenting publicly on an ongoing criminal investigation, Looks to me like Leo had already been tipped off that he will be prosecuted.

If you have nothing good to say – say nothing.
One man’s reasonable is another man’s ridiculous.

I can’t see the Office of the DPP letting this case through; it’s one more (very powerful) cog in the hegemonic wheel of a rotten state.

ICCL is currently compiling data to make recommendations on the Coroner ‘Court’ process – the sooner they get round to to DPP the better.

I think if found guilty bars him from being top dog
So government will ensure all charges are dropped
      Good old corruption

Not having a fully functioning human personality tied to a human limbic system, Leo doesn’t seem to realise that if he does not find himself charged with an offence then this opens the way for a free for all of leaking.

I personally hope to see all sorts of stuff about him leaked into the public domain.

Leo thinks the leopards won’t eat HIS face.

    Idiot.

Also good to see RTE being, as per usual, a sewer of bias.

”I did not commit any crime”

Sounds awfully like ”I am not a crook!”

    har har har
