The way I interpret SOQ’s comment is that it’s a factual observation, not a moral judgement on the threat of a nuclear attack. Emotionalised reactions don’t make for level-headed assessments when it comes to topics like geopolitics and war.

NATO wants to fight Russia and win, as it is a challenge to the dollar, now the Ruble is oil and gold pegged.

Russia wanted to invade Ukraine and win, and had to do it before it joined NATO. Ukraine not being part of NATO caused this war.

We are a neutral country with a military force incapable of defending our nation
But seems our government think they are giants since joining the UN Security Council
It means nothing if we join NATO and the money spent on weapons is better spent on housing our people
No matter if we join the YMCA as members of the EU we have the protection of the EU our new master
Any attack on our neutrality from outside or inside this state cannot be tolerated and it’s up to our people to decide

To be honest in controversial debates like this, people are being pigeonholed as to being supportive of of one side or the other. Ukraine is give or take about 3000 km away. I am aware of the fact that people are suffering and I regret that…… but there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. Lies, propaganda and subterfuge are the hallmarks of this and every other war.
I can understand why Slovakia, Poland and Hungary are concerned. They all share a land border with the Ukraine. But it’s not our problem and is joining NATO would make absolutely zero difference to the block militarily and simultaneously make us a legitimate target.
Sometimes it’s better just to not poke the bear and stay out of things that are not our business.
