A Limerick A Day

The Satanic Temple is hoping to fly its flag in front of Boston City Hall after the US Supreme Court ruled the City of Boston violated free speech rights when it wouldn’t allow a Christian group to fly its flag there

In Boston some people ask why
Beelzebub’s flag shouldn’t fly
A fair question since
It seems the Dark Prince
Has as much rights as you or as I

I see no reason why not, Satan has all the best music anyway.

I certainly don’t remember Satanists beating the living crap out of us in school, I do remember a ‘Satanic Panic’ in the 80s which was very wide off the mark as the turned out it was the Christians doing the child abuse, not the chilled out devil dudes. We were raised to view Nuns are saintly, now we now better, especially looking at how desperate they are to remain influential around women’s health.

Anyway, aren’t they, the Satanist really atheists? I am but I’d be inclined towards the Flying Spaghetti Monster because who doesn’t like spaghetti?

are they not all about breaking taboos, freeing themselves from the social contract and generally being above the law?

I have no idea outside of knowing they don’t really believe in the supernatural and are quite libertarian. I do think they are law abiding though, I think its more ‘moral’ laws and codes they eschew.

Good for them, I’d probably get on better with then than many more extreme religious people.

Beelzebubbians would be a great term for them. I’d be happy to be called a Beelzebubbian; it even looks cool written down.

or else Baptisé your child, kneel to the ” loving ” god, do the church flowers for a month, clean the priests house…that kinda thing ?

Janet, you have my mind set ablaze with what those forfeits could involve to a fellow traveler with the dark lord.. the fiendish fingers, diabolical swallow, wicked tongue, the unholy hole, the sacrilegious tasting, the heinous entry…
