This afternoon.
Shanghai, China.
Shanghai officials will over the next few days further restrict access to food and hospitals in some parts of the city, the most severe phase of its extended lockdown yet.
Via BBC:
Commercial food deliveries are not allowed and access to hospitals for all but emergencies must first be approved.
Neighbours of Covid-19 cases and others living close by are also being forced into government quarantine facilities.
Shanghai is now in its seventh week of city-wide restrictions.
Despite the tougher measures, Shanghai officials insist that people living in half the city’s districts are now free to leave their homes and walk around.
State media has shown propaganda videos of departing medical workers visiting city landmarks together and taking photographs.

Meanwhile…
The head of the World Health Organization has said China’s zero-tolerance Covid-19 policy is not sustainable given what is known of the disease, in rare public comments by the UN agency on a government’s handling of the virus.
“We don’t think that it is sustainable considering the behaviour of the virus,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a media briefing.

I have literally lost nearly all respect for 95% of the people that I know personally during the past 2 years.
Almost to the point where they appear as nothing more than clowns to me, solely based on their response to this situation. People I had held in high esteem.— Dr. James E. Olsson (@DrJamesOlsson) May 10, 2022
Snap.
Couldn’t agree more, James!
James E. Olsson – how real is he?

He’s as real and objective as Jim Smith..

Well this is awkward…..again.
Here are some tips that may help overcome the Dunning-Kruger effect:
1. Take time to reflect. Some people feel more confident when they make decisions quickly, but snap decisions can lead to errors of judgment. …
2. See learning as a way forward. …
3. Challenge your own beliefs. …
4. Change your reasoning. …
5. Learn from feedback.
Mandate huggers desperately trying to stay relevant.
…and failing, desperately.
Dunning-Kruger = hubris.
Those who profess to observe it are usually merely subject to it.
Quod erat demonstrandum…
But is it real though?

In fairness I’m pleasantly surprised and have the height of respect for the resilience and stoicism shown on the part of the clown community over the last few years. The label “clown” has been bandied about freely without any understanding of who and what clowns actually are and the very important role they used to and still can play in society. Aren’t those such as clowns who hold the mirror still to nature allowing us to better understand and interrogate reality, better ascertain and enjoy the cosmic, pointless ridiculousness of existence? Aren’t they a bit of craic too besides? Just because one may be a clown does not make one a fool.
Especially the serial killer ones. Funny, but with a bit of an edge..
A sharp edge, even?
Well, Fergalito, since your (unreferenced) quote refers to actors presenting truth, without exaggeration, sentimentality or excessive showmanship, clowns are hardly exemplars.
Enjoyable as they might be, clowns onstage or in the ring have their place but an audience composed of clowns is less than ideal, should the subject matter be deadly serious.
An entire world of Clowns is an even less attractive proposition, especially if dishonesty, subterfuge & misdirection is the purpose of the performance.
James there sounding like he has a clock tower in his very near future.

I saw phone foootage of people sending theses hamza suited Nazis on their way in Shanghai China
It was not pretty as they were dispatched out of a residential flats complex
I think finally Chinese people have had enough and are not scared in showing their wrath
…history will tell how lucky we were that the most of of us took our advice from Dr Holohan, Dr Glynn, et al in NPHET rather than populists in government or ratlickers on here…
Ah, bisted, we all know you slurped up “The Science” from The Telly & mopped up the spillages with the fabric of lies woven by Luke O’Neill’s creepy slots on Newstalk, not that advice mattersadamn when choice is not on the table.
I drew the line at anyone without a PhD. Unfortunately, that left Holohan out of the loop.
With such eminent people as my guides, I’ve been right about the arrival of a mild variant & the toxicity & negligible health benefits of the Fake Vaccines, the ineffectiveness & indeed, danger of masks, lockdowns & distancing, too.
Many of those who were intimidated & coerced through State criminality into taking the clot shots won’t be around to find out what history will say, anyway, will they?
When I was in 5th class a substitute lay teacher took over for a while; she wasn’t a nun and she was a lovely woman, after a couple of days she gave us a very brief test set of questions numbered 1-11.
At the top of the test page were guidelines regarding the time limit allocated per question and that all questions should be read thoroughly before answering.
… the divil is in the detail.
