A whole nation looked on in awe,
As technology spotted the flaw,
In the last minute free,
Which was ruled not to be,
So once more we were left with a draw.
“After no drawn final since 1959, hurling has produced three drawn All-Irelands in a row.”
What are the chances?
I’ll say it again, why not play extra time?
Don’t give me the lame story that the player’s are tired.
GAA – you have enough money, let the people who paid for their tickets once get their money’s worth.

they have extra time for peil, so why not hurling. the final yesterday could have went on another 20 mins no bother, it was a shame to end such a fantastic game without a winner.
Mark
They don’t have extra time for peil for a drawn first meeting. If the hurling is a draw the next day, there’ll be extra time. If the football final is a draw, there’ll be a replay.

While I agree that there should be replays, You obviously didn’t watch that match if you think people didn’t get their moneys worth.
Actually, Having thought about it, Yesterday is a pretty good argument AGAINST replays.
Both teams played incredibly well and neither deserved to lose.

I have news for ya, one of these teams will lose the replay.

It has absolutely nothing to do with spectators. If the game was played in an empty field, it would be the same. The teams are playing to win a competition, of people turn up to watch that, that’s completely beside the point.

There was no flaw, the linesman signaled the wide before hawk eye was used. The ref bowed to crowd pressure by using it which isn’t a bad thing.

Great win for Hawk-Eye. A replay is never a bad thing; keeps the momentum going.

I think, on reflection, this is probably the dumbest thing I’ve read today. And I just had a quick look at the journal.

Honoured.
