    Heard their spokesperson on the radio this morning talking about how much money they have got from donations. When asked about registering as a charity or political group as they are legally obliged to do she said they were looking into it but hadn’t bothered to comply with that law. They seem to have pre organised everything except oversight of the money.

      ..after all being a registered charity is the hallmark of integrity isn’t it?

      it’s pretty clear to me anyway that there’s nothing terrible going on here (save for pointing out at the very least the ineptitude of the current and previous administrations) and I’m happy to support them in any way I can with money or food or signatures)

      “Mr Ogle also said Home Sweet Home would not be registering as a charity or under Standards In Public Office legislation.
      The group has received over €160,000 in donations but Mr Ogle, an organiser for UNITE trade union, said Home Sweet Home is operating as a campaign under trade union legislation.”

      That’s cleared up, the donations are to fund Unite union campaigns.

            U voted for neither. But considering the absolute shambles FF got us in I think FG did a good job. I don’t agree with a lot of what they do, but who’s better.

        Well that didnt happen. And just to prove you wrong. If broadsheet are able to, im more than happy for them to post every interaction iv had about apollo house with. I never made any judgement about the people in Apollo house. Because I proved it was never called a run down dump by its owners does not mean I judge the people in it.

    Isn’t in interesting how every time people try to organise themselves to highlight inequality, they are attacked by centre-right political interns posing as Joe Soaps online.

      I’ve no problem with people organising and protesting inequality.
      I have huge problems with using real, vulnerable people to do it.
      There are serious issues to be dealt with, too many off the hook who are responsible. But you can’t use actual homeless people as pawns.

        I don’t understand how you can say they are using the very people they have set out to help. I mean – homelessness is the problem, so how can they organise to protest about this without mentioning or actually trying to help homeless people? How are they using homeless people as pawns by trying to help them? How would you suggest they go about it?

      He applauds them and works in conjunction with them to move people into permanent accomodation. Loads of links out there.
