    Crikey, that’s well gutted and such a lovely old building. And Penneys say their clothes aren’t flammable. Pfft.

    Lovely building but the most important thing is no one died in such a big city centre fire.

    Shame. Glad no injuries, but those jobs gone and a great building destroyed…

    Such a shame- on the bright side it is owned by Primark which is economically healthy and not something like House of Fraser. At least there is a chance for the building facade to be kept and renovated- it it was any other retailer I’d say it would be bulldozed.

    I would have thought a building such as this would have sprinklers on each floor, surprised the fire wasn’t containable at an early stage.
