Take your cynical whinging away,
We’re proud of ourselves today,
Fly your tricolour high,
‘Cause the sun’s in the sky,
And there’s hangovers all over Bray

A new Dublin-based fashion magazine, you say?

Printed. Like in olden times.

Louise Ryan writes:

I am one of the editors of a new FREE independent fashion magazine called ‘tabitha’. We are launching our second issue tomorrow evening in the Bernard Shaw [Dublin] and distributing the magazine all around the country for people to pick up a copy. Do look out for it.

We can’t show you the entire magazine but here’s a video of one of tabitha’s hip-tacular fashion shoots in issue 2:

Utterly plausible in its geeknitude, the internets-bothering video they’re calling ‘The New Double Rainbow‘ (aka ‘Double Trainbow’) is actually a loving parody of an earlier (and absolutely genuine) reaction video posted earlier this year by ‘foamer’ Mark McDonough.

Both are things of trainspotterly beauty.

But…

Noah Horak (sporting the longer beard with his brother Craig) is a 28-year old electrical engineer from Minnesota who quit his job to go on a round the world trip (read his excellent blog here).

On an – expensively-attired – Enduro (above)

He arrived in Ireland yesterday…

He writes in Horizons Unlimited travel forum:

I’ve been in Ireland for less then 8 hours. This was supposed to be the 2nd leg of my RTW. My 2010 KTM 690 was taken from the corner of Talbot Place and Talbot street in Dublin in broad daylight. I was in a near by hostel resting after an overnight flight. I put a padlock through the front break but they cut the lock with a bolt cutter. Obviously it wasn’t enough. There was no luggage on it at the time.
The bike is white with a Rally Raid fairing. Minnesota licence plate 12071MH.

Anyone?

You have to hand it to her.

She wants Kate’s permission.

But, you know…

“Well I couldn’t talk about one of our staff [Kate Fitzgerald] now unless they had permitted me, and I can’t talk about Kate when I don’t have her permission.”

Terry Prone on Kate Fitzgerald [and the Fr Kevin Reynolds libel] to Olaf Tyaransen in the new issue of Hot Press magazine [behind paywall].

Would she like this on her wall, all shiny and poster-sized?

Caricaturist Steve Mulreany knocked this off yesterday bathed in a warm glow of national pride.

And he’s kindly donated a print to GIVE AWAY.
