An excellent animation from the nice folk at the Science Videos Blog. [spoiler: there’s a sad ending]:

Our journey ends just short of our goal. Approximately one tenth of a second before we reach the singularity we would be torn apart by the tidal forces. This happens regardless of the mass of the black hole. In all black holes of any size our journey will end at roughly the same spot. We will never reach the point of infinite curvature, where space and time as we know them come to an end.

Yes. Plushie guts.

While they make a great substitution for a get well card, these adorable innards are also the perfect pals for pediatricians, psychologists and surgeons to prop in their offices or waiting rooms and help to ease the tension for patients of all ages.

$20 each (brain, heart, kidney and uterus) from the delightful I Heart Guts.

Owned and operated by Edward Melvin of Dublin Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mick O’Pedia has several million ‘Hiberno-Anglicised’ articles online. According to Wikipedia it:

… uses a Python script to convert articles (taken from the English Wikipedia) into Irish (Hiberno) English. The link structure and content of Mickopedia is the same as that of the English Wikipedia. Only the wording is change to reflect Irish Hiberno English words instead of more common standard English words.
