Cut Map: road-maps sliced-up to resemble the faces and figures of the subjects of artist Nikki Rosato, who explains:

The lines on a road map are beautifully similar to the lines that cover the surface of the human body. In my most recent work involving maps, as I remove the landmasses from the silhouetted individuals I am further removing the figure’s identity, and what remains is a delicate skin-like structure. Through this process, specific individuals become ambiguous and hauntingly ghost-like, similar to the memories they represent.

Previously, this.

Artist and dancer, Tony Orrico uses his body to create large scale Spirograph-style drawings in live performances that can last for hours.

Whether or not you fancy the prospect of a five hour pencil-based floorshow, the resulting art is pretty impressive.

Huge gallery of his work here.

A dust devil lifts hundreds of metres of agricultural fleece from a strawberry field in Pupping, Austria, creating something akin to the plastic bag scene in American Beauty, only on a vast scale.

Weird. Gorgeous. Keeps getting better. Go full screen.

The only thing missing is the Thomas Newman theme. Someone should get on that.

They’re not photographs.

They’re oversized copies of photographs by the Spanish artist Juan Francisco Casas.

All done freehand with a ballpoint pen. Freehand. With a ballpoint pen.

Talent like this can only result from having done a deal with the Red Lad. In Juan’s attic, a stack of mediocre watercolour landscapes slowly rots.
