2. It stars the great Chiwetel Ejiofor. His mates call him Chewy.

3. It co-stars Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ruth ‘Love/Hate’ Negga and Brad Pitt. For starters.

4. It’s based on a true story, and, unless it completely nukes the fridge, will be nominated for many, many Oscars.

1. It’s the new movie by Spike Lee.

3. It’s a REALLY bad idea to begin with.

6. Josh Brolin is a bad ass.

1. JARPAM is a very black comedy written and directed by Jeff Doyle (top).

2. It was shot in 11 days in Dublin in January.

3. It stars writer/director Doyle, Johnny Elliott (Charlie Casanova), Chris Newman (Love/Hate), Peter Coonan, (Love/Hate), John Connors (King of the Travellers), Aisling Bodkin (Love/Hate) and George ‘Mondo’ McMahon. The music’s by Kodaline.

What you may need to know

1. Heads up… Graham Linehan has a new TV show starting TONIGHT

2. Linehan’s hit ratio is pretty much impeccable. What’s more, he’s a lovely bloke. He’s allowed the occasional Twitter strop.

3. Count Arthur Strong is a character created by Steve Delaney; he’s already been an Edinburgh Fringe fave and a brilliant radio show. Linehan co-wrote the series with Delaney, and directed it, too.

4. His lone feature credit to date? A co-writing credit on justly forgotten 1997 rom-com The Matchmaker.

4. He’s just wrapped an IT Crowd special, due later this year. He’s been teasing it on Vine

1. We had a clip ages ago, now here’s a first trailer for Lance ‘Kisses‘ Daly’s new movie.

2. It stars Pat Shortt, Fionnuala Flannagan and a Gleeson (Brian), with a Tubridy cameo.

3. Bonus points for the Simple Minds tee.

4. Minus points for the excess Shortt toplessness. Unless that’s what you’re into, like.

5. Pat’s currently starring in a West End Production of Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple Of Inishmaan, alongside Daniel ‘Harry Potter’ Radcliffe. Fair ball.

6. It opens the Galway Film Fleadh on July 9.

1. Brian De Palma, director of some of the most brilliantly deranged Hollywood movies ever made, is back! BACK! BAAAAAAACK!

2. He may have seen a Hitchcock movie or two. And might be collaborating with Daft Punk.

3. Classic De Palma: Carrie (1976), Dressed To Kill (1980), Scarface (1983), The Untouchables (1987) and Carlito’s Way (1993), for starters. Cult De Palma: try Phantom Of The Paradise (1974), Blow Out (1981), Body Double (1984) and Raising Cain (1992), for starters. Dud De Palma: Try Bonfire Of The Vanities (1990) or The Black Dahila (2006). Better still – don’t.

4. This is an EROTIC THRILLER. Girls kiss each other. There are knives. It’s a remake of a French movie, naturally.

5. Rachel McAdams starred in theĀ first RDJ Sherlock Holmes flick, Noomi Rapace in the second. The latter also enjoyed a memorable alien c-section in last year’s Prometheus.

1. Vince Vaughan’s career is in need of some serious rehab. His new movie, The Internship (2013), lands DOA on Friday.

2. Vince has been looking a little puffy of late. It’s been a long time since Swingers (1996), baby.

This remake of a Canadian comedy features both Jack ‘What Richard Did‘ Reynor and Simon ‘Bachelor’s Walk‘ Delaney.

4. Vince just produced a documentary called Art Of Conflict, about Belfast and Derry mural art.

What you may need to know.

1. Sly Stallone has FIVE movies out in the next year or thereabouts, including Expendables 3 (2014) and a boxing movie where he fights Bobby De Niro. Seriously.

2. First up, however, we get his first prison flick since 1989’s justly forgotten Lock Up. Truth be told, we’re still holding out for that Tango & Cash (1989) sequel.

3. Arnold Schwarzenegger is going through his Morgan Freeman phase.

4. Is that Vincent D’Onofrio from Law & Order: Criminal Intent? Man, that TV catering takes its toll.

5. The bad guy? It’s Jim ‘Jesus’ Caviezel, from our new favorite guilty pleasure, Person Of Interest.

6. Plus: Straight-To-DVD superstar 50 Cent! Wait… Did Cannon Pictures make this?

7. We haven’t been this excited since Expendables 2 (2012). And it doesn’t even have Chuck Norris in it.

What you may need to know:

1. We’ve been away on holiday. We had a lovely time, cheers.

2. Larry David made a movie! For HBO, who produce Curb Your Enthusiasm. It won’t be playing cinemas. He plays a character best described as ‘Larry David-esque’.

3. It’s directed by Greg Mottola, who did Superbad (2007), Adventureland (2008) and Paul (2011), and co-stars Jon Hamm, Danny McBride, Bill Hader and Michael Keaton. Always good to see Michael Keaton.

4. Curb Your Enthusiasm will return, whenever Larry feels like it. He’s too rich to be in a hurry.
